Exhausted

Lawrence rubbed his eyes. He arose, immediately going to his personal space while coming back with wet hair and a robe on, rubbing a towel on his hair while yawning. He wore his dynamic clothing before someone came knocking on the door.

"Lawrence?" a voice said from the other side of the door.

"I'll be there in a minute," he answered.

Tightening his ribbon before walking up to the door. "Come in."

The door slowly opened, and a woman appeared. Looking familiar, she was someone that Lawrence had seen before. A woman with a maid outfit, her hair was black, her eyes were brown. A woman who was composed and someone hard to discern. Who was she? That's what Lawrence wanted to know before backing up a few steps behind.

"Who are you?" hesitantly, he asked.

Answered by a wicked smile, the lady drew out a dagger from her behind, rushing towards Lawrence. He clenched his jaw and avoided the attack. 'Out of all the days! Why now!' he screamed in his mind. Unbothered by the assassination instead, he was worried about Estella.

'I can only produce mana to strengthen my body. I can't defeat anyone as of the moment.' Lawrence thought, biting his lip. 'I haven't started even started the training of Arcanery! Who would want to assassinate the trash son of the Marquess!'

"You know how to fight. Expected, but you already know your situation." the woman said.

Gazing in the direction of the perceived hazard, Lawrence tries to find a flaw in her movements. Right corner, he sees the path from which he can break through and escape. He leaped with full force, exceeding his quadriceps' limit. His speed increased drastically, leaving the assassin off-guard. With his stealthy movement and flexible body, he was able to escape the woman and out of his room.

Running at his full speed, he rushed towards the exit. His vision darkened, and his memories from his fateful moment reappeared. The halls darkened, dark as the dungeon he was at. The light is dim, slowly disappearing. Terrified, Lawrence dizzied while running towards the outside of the mansion. Falling into his fatigue. His stamina and will power had been depleted.

He reached for the door meters away from him but felt as if it was millions of kilometers away... before his stamina depleted entirely. His eyes slowly closed, his arm failed to reach the door. He fell unconscious. His last thoughts: "I'm sorry, Estella."

Estella St. Claire Point of View

I felt uneasy as if something terrible had happened. Lawrence! I need to hurry!- as I thought to myself, I ran towards the backdoor and back to the mansion. Shouting his name, I continued to run towards his room, climbing the stairs as fast as I could, and going to each corridor, when finally... the door of Lawrence had slashes from a sharp object...

"Help!" I shouted from the top of my lungs.

"What happened!" the knights, yes... they were shocked to see me run towards the mansion, leaving them untold of what I felt.

Lewis came close to the door and examined the slashes. I couldn't help but not hold my tears... my body just moved on its own and ran towards the mansion's entrance.

"Stop!" Lewis shouted, making me shiver.

"Knights! Scatter! This had just done a few seconds ago! The attacker is nearby! So is, his excellency!" he commanded the knights.

One by one, I looked at them as their arcane bursts and as they put on their helmets. They scattered like commanded, holding their weapons. I could feel how pale I am. My son... I can't let my son be in danger! No! I need to help!

"Angelica! Please. Let the knights handle it."

I looked behind, glaring at him with resentment. "Shut up," I shouted angrily. "Lawrence is the only thing that keeps me living. He's my son." I said before leaving him unspoken.

I rushed like it was the end of my life. Running like there was no tomorrow. Tripping on the stairs and getting bruises from my fall from the stairs. But I don't care! I will find my son-!

Estella St. Claire Point of View End

Estella placed both of her hands on her mouth, gasped. Her tears drooled beneath her cheeks. Lawrence...

I tried to make it exciting. I don't know. I'm sorry. Hope you like it!
