Her sea-green eyes shone with anticipation and a gasp escaped her lush pouting lips, as the tip of his fingers brushed against her neck.
Then abruptly, he withdrew his fingers. His mariner-blue eyes darkened like a raging storm, brows knitted into creases of disdain, and his fist tightened.
“I, Leon Andreas Angelo, Alpha King of the silver moon pack reject you, Lucienne Sage Blanc, as my mate.”
As the words rolled off his tongue, they sounded like echoes in her ears, and a sharp pain surges through her chest. Her wolf wants out, bones ruptured, skin exploded into fur, and teeth and fingers sharpen into knives.
Scream.
Howl.
Her silvery fur shone in the darkness, as she sprinted blindly into the welcoming arms of the dark woods.
