Flowers for a Demon
“Ari!” she squealed, disturbing the demon from his sleep.
Arius narrowed his eyes at the girl who stood on top of him, shoving flowers into his face. His nose twitched, the pollen flying up his nose creating an itch. “Achoo!” He sneezed, allergic by all the pollen and smell the flowers commanded. This was the reason why he hated spring and summer. Redness plagued his nose, slightly marring his handsome face like Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer.
“You don’t like it?” she slightly frowned, removing the flowers from his face. “I guess I have to find better.”
He sighed, pulling her towards him without the inference of her own strength and mass. She fell, her weight instantly colliding into his ribs, causing him to squeak in pain. He mentally palmed his head over his own stupidity. He didn’t calculate this- he didn’t calculate her.
“No flowers please.” he groaned.
She smiled, “But it's for you.”
***
He, a powerful demon, was left to the guardianship of a baby human girl that was found hidden within his vicinity.
Taking note of her lively behavior, he raises her carefree as possible in Baroque Europe, under his own tutelage. Yet, nothing is simple raising a growing human child, especially one that’s rambunctious and lively with the ever-growing threat of both humans and demons.
Inspired and based on Hana to Akuma from Hisamu Oto.
