Davien coughed, feeling the cold seep into his very bones. "Are you okay?" Bel asked, and though he could hear the panic in her voice, he couldn't find the strength to comfort her. If he wasn't in such a terrible state, he'd have smiled at her concern.
"I'd think… you would know what a talisman looks like," he rasped.
"That's what that was?" she asked, eyes wide with shock. "I didn't know. I-I just thought it looked familiar."
Davien shook his head weakly. "And your first thought is to touch it. I know you lack self-preservation, but there should be a limit." He coughed again.
"What was that?" she asked.
"A ghost," he mumbled as he tried to get on his feet.
"A ghost?" Bel asked. She had heard about them but had never seen one. She had been ready to believe they were simply a myth. "Why would there be ghosts here?" she asked as she tried to help him.
