[03] I Met A Hornless Demon

"You'll see. It'll be helpful, I promise."

Ate two cups of noodles at the nearby store, my stomach and I are ready. I change my clothes and footwear into a black shirt, long peach skirt, and dark brown boots.

I heard the news about a murder that happened inside the mall. In which, I am the accused and killer of the woman. Good thing, they never included information about me or my appearances.

But, the only one who knows I am inside that medical room is that man.

I will whisk memory loss potion to him, one day.

Facing forward to the grand entrance of the university, I march straight at the crowded hallway. There is an attention-getter sight in this premises, the huge tall tower. So high that its roof had been passed by clouds, and where birds resting on. I assume a deity built that, for a reason.

An old human greets me halfway down the hallway. "You are a transferee, aren't you? And, I'm sure you are Hanna, right?" offering a hand, says he.

Awkward. I don't know how to respond. The journal's scope is limited and mainly, outside this new system.

"Uh, what? " My stupid mind only thinks of that words. He motions his hands forward. "This way to the principal's office. I guess you're an exchange student. I am mistaken, I apologize." He genuinely leads the way. All I see based on my third eye, the calm and glad aura of this person.

We take one turn, and then a straight path. Until we halt in front of a small temple. The temple, itself, already screams deity supremacy.

So much, my eyes hurt.

"I am Assistant Senior High School Principal, Conorado Aguinaldo. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask me. Now, you go first, young lady." the person motions his hands while pulling the door.

I obey the order and let myself enter the room. As I mentioned earlier, the temple tells about worshiping the deities, and from the inside, IT IS A DEITY WORSHIP ALTAR.

FROM THIS MOMENT, MY WHOLE BODY SYSTEM IS INTERNALLY ANGRY. My hearts and organs are screaming.

All the training of peace and calm I underwent really pays off now. I maintain my deadpan face and calm demeanor.

While the whole room has different altars, there is an old woman sitting in the middle. She's currently looking up to some papers while holding an old reading glass. Wrinkles mark the skin of the woman, and the white hair has become silver in her head.

Conorado needs to press something at the wall, then a deafening bell rings. I almost wanted to cover my horns because the bell sounds too off-tune and vibrating throughout my body.

The so-called sacred bell of the deities!

The old woman then stares straight at me. Her eyes are intensely blue, gazing at mine as if judging my very own existence. Her facial expression has a great difference from the other humans I saw. For a moment, I thought she's a deity in a woman's clothing or she's really an old deity. She radiates an immense and variety of aura, making my whole system quiver.

Am I getting frightened by a mere old woman? What's with this old hag?

I activate my third eye, scanning both humans in my surrounding.

Nothing unusual.

Not until I saw it.

The principal isn't human.

She's similar to me. A demon.

"Conorado, I'll take it from here. You may now leave. I'll call you as soon as I'm done processing her data." says she, with the same intense stare at me. The latter follows then left the room.

So then, she talks to me through telepathy. We both take turns to send our outer thoughts.

"You want to kill Conorado as he pressed that damn bell, right?"

I look at her with disbelief. How and why does a demon in here? Within a deity property?

"Come, and sit here young lady," speaks she with tongue. I dumbfoundedly move and sit, facing the other demon near.

Again, telepathy. "Don't judge me, young diablae. I have my own reasons for staying. Anyways, you're on a quest, right? Luck's on you. Look like you surpassed the killer portal."

"I am on a quest. I don't mean to judge but questions are inevitable in my mind. I almost die in that portal, a good thing I have alchemy. By the way, I don't see your horns." reply I in telepathy.

She flips some paper, then signs some. Afterward, swapping some things in front of me. "You are Hanna Nakajima, who came from Japan. I welcome you to the Kingston University! You will have no regrets on learning and studying here in our humble campus." added she, personally.

While saying this in telepathy. "I do not have horns as I forsake our race. I am deeply sorry. I should have not, but I have reasons."

I felt a sudden weight on my shoulders. I don't know what to say nor to react. Horns are equal to our pride as demons. Without it, what's the worth of living anyways?

I reply verbally. "It is my pleasure. I wanted to study at an excellent university, ever since I heard about this famous campus. I suggest, what's my other... important details to be tackled?"

She handed over a rectangular thing and clothes or uniform, perfectly arranged in a bag.

"Don't last until Sunday in this university, I tell ya'. Before even Sunday, go and leave. Don't step on here anymore. Even if you seem to like it in here, don't. " added she, telepathically.

Then, verbally. "That's your Identification Card, which is important. And, here's the schedule of your class and the things you need. You'll be a tour around by Conorado, don't worry. "

"What's with Sunday? And, what's the day today?" ask I, telepathically.

"It's Wednesday. If you have a mission here, just do it. I'll cover for your excuses, trust me. Just leave before Sunday."

She added verbally. "Don't hesitate to ask for help." Then, she smiles widely. The intense aura becomes warm at the same time.

I smile back at her. Nodding, assurance of having an allegiance with the first demon I met. Particularly, a diablae, a female demon.

Conorado tour me around, the premise is so wide and has lots of turns. That makes my head explodes out of confusion. We already went to the junior high school's buildings, cafeteria, gymnasium, swimming pool, wide-field track, sports center, massive library, long and stylish hallways, temples for teachers, wide garden, and wide reserve parking area. And those areas are all in purple and white, some gold and silver too.

The colors are irritating to my eyes. And, like every second, a SACRED BELL IS RINGING.

By more hours spent here, probably I'll end up wrecking those bells!

He says for the last time. "You'll meet the student president of K.U. so you can socialize with other students as well. Okay, goodbye, Ms. Nakajima." He waves his hands and walks away from me.

I stood in the Pagpala Tower which according to Conorado, was established before K.U. That is a mystery, I don't want to be involved so far.

Some students always looking at me. Some being amazed, while some being irritated. Well, I don't care for their perspectives.

Little by little, I felt something or someone is directly looking at me.

I turn around.

No one insight.

And then, a young human appears from behind. She smiles while holding rectangular stuff, making a 'click' sound. "Hold on, a little bit. This will take a while. Then, done." mutters she.

What's with her? She's crazy.

"Look! You're pretty! Although, seems something off." She handed in front of me the rectangular stuff. I see myself, my whole figure from the head down to the torso. And, my horns are absolutely blurred but actually, can be seen by naked eyes.

I am suddenly enraged. I took that stuff, and throw it so hard on the ground.

She gasps air. I look at her with mad stares. Expecting an equal amount of enraging to her, thus she just smiles and picks up the stuff.

"Thank you for your wonderful reflexes! I am so done with this phone. I wanted a new release phone, just so you know. And you did me a huge favor. Anyways, I am Columbane R. las Piñas and I am your student guide for today." She's smiling so unusually weirdly. Did she say guide? Another guide for today, and she's a stupid human.

Did I just blink or my eyes caught something peculiar? Her lips just pressed into an evil grin, then quickly changes into a sweet dazzling smile. What the heck? Humans are so complicated.

We are in the middle of so-called socializing with the other students. I need not remember their names for they have no value on my quest nor to my life.

I am doing my best on exchanging thoughts with all of them. What I see crystal clear is they believe that I do not speak their language fluently and that I'm struggling with a bit of English. They all have the same calm and glad aura within, except for Columbane.

I see a lot of dark red and blue hues around her. Even though her face seems to tell another story. A mischievous girl. I also see no other blood or race inside of her, just plain human and all.

"Hi, Traiser!"

"Notice me, Traiser!!"

"I loveee you, Traiser!"

All of a sudden, every human is screaming at the top of their lungs. So many of them with loud voices nearly got my hearing senses to explode.

Calm down, Limdi. It is not the scope of your quest. Take this easy.

I am focused on talking with Columbane about the new happenings or phenomenons here on Earth; which I really slipped my tongue to ask the whole Earth. As if I am kind of a human from another world.

And so, Columbane also gets unusual behavior. She shyly smiles and pats her hair while looking beside me. Figuratively, she looks like the Zonax cats, being charming and cute to other demons so they can eat their flesh or babies. Moves of predators.

Behind my back, a familiar voice speaks. "You're that girl, aren't you?" Automatically, my eyes roll in response.

On the other hand, Columbane answers. "The girl of your dreams? Yes, yes I am!" She even blinks several times.

Looks to me her eyelashes will eventually fly on their own and leaving her eyes. That's bothering me.

The other humans around still screaming and voicing their hearts out.

After the human behind me says the statement, everyone got quiet.

A deafening silence.

"How's your body? Are you okay? Did I bump you so hard?"

Wrathful eyes. Lustful. All of them stare at me as if wanting me to be peeled the skin out.

I turn around. Then, meeting his gorgeous face. But, it didn't capture me this time. I heard Columbane's gritting teeth and her outside thoughts about my hair getting pulled.

"Yes, my body is alright. You had nothing to worry about," respond I.

He smiles. Smiles that could melt my heart, but not this time, I am surrounded with greedy, lustful, and wrathful zui. And, I'm loving it.

"Glad to hear it. So, you turned out to be the transferee student. Welcome in K.U.! Hope you'll enjoy." He was about to get near to me, but Columbane got between us.

"Thank you, K.U. Ambassador!" Then, she turns to face me, with a wide smile. Fake smile, to be precise. "Now, time to meet the SSG or Supreme Students Government, whereas I am the current president."

She grabs tightly my wrist and pulling me behind. Walking to the next small room, not too small, frankly, quite huge for a room.

The man follows, while hands in the pocket and still smiling on his face.

I pull my wrist to her tight grab. Stare at her in anger, so did she. Now, a lot of zui she has.

"SSG! ASSEMBLE!"

As she yells, more than two students line up. They wear the same headwear, probably like a tiara. And, Columbane has the bigger and shiny one.

She introduced each one of them. Starting to Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Officer-In-Charge, and the representatives.

All of them are quite disciplined and obedient to Columbane. Not even one flinch or moves, but they do when she orders to.

"And, I am Traiser Lustrado, K.U. Ambassador, nice meeting you" the man offers his hand. Strange, I am not in the ground nor need salvation.

With hands intertwine or even a little contact, we, demons, already called that as a contract or allegiance. Which, I don't want to have with this Traiser.

My fist bumps on his palm. That's the way how demons interact with their mutual fellow and our way of telling them they're good, but not too good.

"Li- Hannah." I almost slip my tongue once more. I should be more careful for now! I've already trained myself for restraining such situations.

Columbane hastily holds my fist away from Traiser. She's acting weird again. A lot of envy.

Her eyes stare directly at me, filled with anger and whatever her complex intense emotions are.

The tour ended there in a few seconds. I avoided as much as I can to mingle or even socialize again with the other humans around.

Immediately, I didn't need to think further about my transportation. I run for a span of minutes, until exactly stopping at my hut.

This day is full of exhausting experiences.

Looks like Limdi has met Traiser again! Stay tune to their story. Thank you for reading. Don't forget to like, vote, and comment your thoughts!
