Isabella

After the tense encounter in the clinic's surgery room, Aaron and Isabella sat in an unsettling silence, their indifference towards each other palpable. The room itself felt sterile and cold, a stark contrast to the chaotic world outside. Finally, Isabella spoke, her voice carrying an emotionally detached tone.

"I'm Isabella," she offered her name with a detached air, her introduction seemingly a mere formality.

Aaron acknowledged her introduction with a nod, but he showed no interest in establishing any sort of connection. "Aaron," he replied curtly, making it evident that he had no intention of opening up to her. To be honest he was just shocked to find out she was as beautiful as his sister but since her attitude didn't match in the slightest, he felt it not necessary to feed her ego.

Isabella's gaze lingered on him for a moment, as if she were attempting to assess the depths of his character. "Thank you for assisting me," she said, her words coated with a veneer of indifference. "I am in your debt."

Aaron's response was swift and equally emotionless. "I have no need for your repayment."

He stood up, his body language expressing his desire to depart from the situation. However, Isabella remained unmoved, effectively blocking his path to the exit. Her eyes fixed on him, devoid of any emotional attachment.

"I must fulfill my obligation to repay you," she repeated, her voice void of emotion.

Aaron's patience was wearing thin, and he felt a growing sense of annoyance. He had no inclination to engage in a futile argument with what seemed like a pampered individual. "I have more important matters to attend to than wasting my time with someone of your nature," he retorted bluntly.

For a brief moment, a faint glimmer of hurt passed through Isabella's eyes—a subtle nuance that Aaron couldn't help but notice. It caused him to hesitate for a fleeting second, prompting him to question whether his response had been too harsh.

With a resigned sigh, he relented, "Fine. If you insist on repaying me, then accompany me to my home."

However, Isabella misunderstood his intentions, her response tinged with bitterness. "As expected," she sneered with disappointment, "all individuals of your gender are predictably the same."

Aaron chose not to dignify her remark with a response. Instead, he simply turned and exited the room, the exchange having tested his patience to its limits.

As he started the car parked outside, his primary objective was to swiftly obtain the medication required for his sister.

Isabella emerged from the clinic and approached the vehicle, nonchalantly opening the door and taking a seat in the passenger side. Her apathy remained unaltered as she made a commentary, "You should have been more explicit in your instructions."

Aaron continued driving in silence, his expression inscrutable. He had no desire to partake in further dialogue with Isabella, and she appeared to share the sentiment.

Within the confines of the vehicle, they were two disparate souls thrust together by circumstance. But who knew how these people would shake the universe in the future?
