7 Chapter 7: Intentions

The sound inside the tent continued for another three hours, and the guards outside could only stare at each other as they endured through it. Their faces were trying not to show emotions such as jealousy and envy toward Killian.

Thirty minutes had passed since the tent turned silent. The night in the forest turned peaceful. It was a good thing that Hyuna's tent was far away from the main camp, making it impossible for everyone to hear what happened—the only witnesses were the guards stationed right next to the tent.

Inside the tent, the dimly lit room was lit up by the oil lamp. Killian was lying on the bed, covered with a blanket, while Hyuna was hugging him. Their bare bodies were resting while they were still connected.

"You have the face of a gentleman; it didn't occur to me that you can be extremely rough too," Hyuna said, raising her head and showing satisfaction in her blue eyes.

"I am glad you liked my service," Killian said, staring into Hyuna's eyes.

"If that was your service, then consider me a satisfied customer, and I would come back for more," Hyuna said, kissing Killian's lips.

Kilian responded by kissing back.

"I still want more, but I don't think my body can still keep up. I am so exhausted—you are the very first person to manage to do this to me," Hyuna said while watching Killian's reaction. "You are amazing."

"I don't think I am that amazing; your past experiences are just bad," Killian commented.

Hyuna chuckled. "You are not the type who accepts compliments, aren't you? The one complimenting you is the first princess of the kingdom Satirica; at least take some pride from it."

"Then, thanks for your compliment, your highness," Killian said with a stoic expression.

Hyuna used Killian's biceps as her pillow. "Have you ever thought about going to the capital? The life there is much better. You can come with us when we go back. I can help you start a life there, or if you want, you can be a help in the castle—my aid."

Killian furrowed his eyebrows. "Life in the capital probably won't be bad. But I won't come there just to become the first princess's concubine—that's a tempting offer, but I will say no. I want a good reason to go there."

Hyuna buried her face in Killian's armpit, while her hand hugging him turned tighter. "I'm starting to notice that you are talking to me with such a casual and straightforward way of talking. If anyone heard you addressing me as such—especially the knights—you would be beheaded on the spot."

"But I still have my head attached to my body, which means you don't mind me talking to you this way," Killian said.

Hyuna raised her head and stared at Killian with curiosity in her eyes. "I'll allow it, but only in private. But only you because I like you. That's your privilege."

Killian smiled. "Then, it is a privilege I will gladly accept." Killian cleared his throat. "On another note, princess, I want to ask something."

Hyuna's smile showed in the dim light of the oil lamp. "Is it about me?"

"Not really," Killian replied.

"And there goes my interest," Hyuna said, about to cover her head with the blanket.

Killian moved swiftly and sealed Hyuna's lips with his lips. They shared a passionate kiss, leaving Hyuna focused on Killian the moment their lips parted ways. Hyuna was left biting her own lower lip, tracing the hints of what was left after that kiss.

"It is about the mission. What is your reason for coming here?" Killian asked, fully knowing now that Hyuna's attention was finally back at him.

Hyuna furrowed her eyebrows, showing her hesitation to reveal a very crucial detail. "You are quite interested in it," she said, showing a mischievous smile.

"I just want to know what I am fighting for. At least if I die here, I know what for," Killian said with a serious expression.

"That's unexpectedly a very serious reason. But understandable. You satisfied me very much with your earlier performance, so I will tell you." Hyuna rested her elbow on the pillow. "The legendary mage... Zero."

"The mage who fought side by side with the hero to defeat the demon lord," Kilian said, nodding as his suspicion was confirmed correct.

"We have information that he is in the town of Brookhaven. Actually, that information was discovered two years ago. We had no intention of disturbing him, especially knowing that he hasn't been doing anything bad." Hyuna slowly exhaled. "But the situation became more grave than expected."

Killian nodded. "If ever you are correct that he is in the town of Brookhaven, what made you think you could convince him to help? From what I know from the books and stories, he is not the type who helps people—even with great rewards, especially rewards coming from humans."

"We already concluded that offering him wealth and power will be ineffective—after all, he rejected the rewards given to him after defeating the demon lord. But we will find a way to convince him." Hyuna smiled. "After all, every man has desire. All we need to do is find what it is and find the way to fulfill it."

"I see. Good luck with that," Killian said, standing up and putting his clothes on.

"Are you leaving already?" Hyuna asked.

"Yes. We have a long day tomorrow. I need to take a rest," Killian replied. He reached for Hyuna's lips and kissed her before living.

Killian walked out of the tent and ignored the guards looking at him intensely. He walked through the dark woods without anyone seeing him, going back to his camp.

As he walked, his black eyes were lit up by the moon above. "You are right, princess. Every man has desire, even me. But the thing is, if I, myself, cannot fulfill my greatest desire, how can you?"
