2 11:33

After a while, my tears stopped and my breathing slowed. My head was still buried in the stranger's chest but he didn't mind and quite frankly, neither did I. His hand still cradled my head and I could feel his breathing in my ear, still tickling my neck. I slowly pull away from him tucking my hair behind my ears.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking." I quickly explain.

"It's completely fine." His smooth voice assures me.

I'm still seated in between his legs but there's a reasonable amount of space in between us. Right now, I'm trying to wrap my head around this whole situation. A few moments ago, I was so keen on throwing myself off this building and now, I just want to get away from it as far as possible. I can't even explain how I feel right now, I don't know what to call this emotion.

It's all just overwhelming.

A hand comes in my view.

"My names Jacob, Jacob Parker." He introduces himself and I find myself shaking his hand. I can feel the coldness coming from the many rings on his fingers.

"Layla Knight." I whisper and his plump lips tug up into a smile.

"Come on, let's get you up." He says, gripping my hand and waist with the other hand helping my stand up. When I stand to my full height, I brush off in any dust off my clothing. The winds picks up strong, making me stumble but Jacob is quick to grab me by my waist and steady me. He chuckles a bit and a blush covers my cheeks.

"I know you shouldn't be talking to a stranger but do you maybe want to get away from here?" His brown orbs catch me in a trance before I answer.

"Yes, please." I say, snapping out of it, shaking my head slightly. He just saved me from making a mistake, I don't think he's entitled to being a stranger.

"Great." He smiles and my insides almost instantly melt.

His hands moves to the small of my back, and ushers me to the rooftop door. We find the elevator and immediately get inside taking it to ground floor. Inside, Jimin stands on the left side leaning against the wall with me on the right side. My head rests on the wall when Jacob speaks up.

"Why were you gonna do it?"

I halt, glancing down to my feet clad in converse. "The pain is too much."

He nods, not saying anything. Just when the silence is getting a little uncomfortable, the doors open up. We step out to the ground floor, there's a few cars still parked here. Jacob points to his black car, gesturing me to follow him.

"The doors are already unlocked." He says moving around the car to get to the driver's seat.

I nod, opening the passenger's side door. On the seat are six letters sprawled out, Jacob rushes to them before I can even blink and quickly shoves them into the compartment in front of the seat.

He lets out nervous laughter. "Sorry about that, please, get in." He says.

I jump inside, buckling myself up before closing the door. He switches the heat on, filling the car with warmth tingling on my skin which I'm thankful for. I slip off my white jersey, revealing my yellow short sleeve T-shirt underneath. What peaks Jacob's interest is Spongebob Squarepants printed on my T-shirt.

He laughs, his eyes almost closing entirely. I feel the blood rush to my cheeks but I'm too busy staring at his eyes to notice.

"Hey, it's my favorite show, okay!" I explain.

"Trust me, I am not judging."

There's a moment of silence between us, before Jacob breaks it.

"My favorite character is Squidward." He says, before pinching his nose, "Spongebob." He imitates Squidward's voice and I burst into giggles that soon turn into full on laughing.

"Oh my god, you sound exactly like him." I wheeze.

"Why are you so annoying, Spongebob!" He continues.

The corner's of my eyes crinkle up as I laugh. My voice echoes through the car along with my hand slapping my thigh. I can feel Jacob's eyes on me as I throw my head back, soft giggles, My hands are holding my stomach which is on the verge of aching.

"Stop! Stop, you're going to make my stomach ache." I plead, taking in deep breaths to calm down.

"You should laugh more, it sounds melodic."

I blush. "Thank you."

I look out the window, ignoring the gaze of Jacob's eyes on me. We drive slowly so I have enough time to scope through the crowds outside. The city lights are on, although I cannot hear the chatter of people, I can tell they're having a good time.

My eyes catch seven handsome guys dressed in tailored suits, posing like models. I squint my eyes, finding something even more interest.

"Wait, is that you?" I ask in bewilderment.

He follows my gaze and perks up.

"Yes, that is me."

"Wow, you look hot." I blurt out before even thinking. Jacob's face is tinted pink, the color reaching to the tips of his ears. Holy shit, he's blushing!

"Thank you." His voice comes out a bit squeaky before he abruptly clears his throat. I muffle a giggle with my hand.

I'm still in complete awe. "So you're like famous."

"Yes I'm a singer." He nods.

"No."

"Yes."

"You're lying."

"I swear to God." He says with a honest and sincere smile on his face. The smile is contagious, because before I know I'm smiling brightly at him too. I shift in my seat, turning my body to fully face him.

"Okay then, sing for me." I urge eagerly.

"What?" He gives me a bizarre look before focusing on the road again, avoiding my gaze. I roll my eyes and make a 'tsk' sound before shaking his arm slightly.

"Come on, please." I plead locking eyes with his.

He gives in. "Sure." He whispers.

His mouths opens up and I'm suddenly in a trance. His eyes close completely as he's lost in the song. His voice is a silky smooth, like caramel and his plump lips move graciously. I'm fixated on him, this moment is hypnotizing. He finishes off with a beautiful high note, leaving me in shock.

"Wow." Is all I say as I lean back into my seat.

"Your voice is amazing and so pure, it's an honor to watch you sing like that." I compliment. His gaze is back on the road, his cheeks still tinted pink as he mumble a shy 'thank you' is response. there's a smile on my face from just listening to him.

"That's from our song 'Magically' from our 'You're One You Should Love' album." He informs me.

"It's beautiful." I say, "Who were the other six guys?"

"Those are my friends, we're in a boy band called NYC." He replies. I can tell they mean a lot to him by the way he smiles and his eyes almost vanish.

The name of the boy band catches my attention. NYC, just like the city that never sleeps. They must have an army of fans.

"NYC as in New York City."

"Yes it is," He agrees, "We deserve that name, there's so much we've been through as a group." My eyes never leave his face as he explain the years of hard work they've put it and how much hate they'd receive for just doing what they love. He talks about how their fans would defend them with all their might, and it brings a smile to my face.

He seems so passionate about his career, his friends and fans.

"Wow, I can't believe I haven't heard of you guys, I've been living under a rock this whole time." I groan.

Jacob chuckles as he watches me chastise myself. Shaking my head to myself, something dawns on me. I slowly turn to him, noticing how his hands are gripping the steering too tight, I surprise both him and myself when I put my hand on top of his. Jacob's head snaps to my hand then to me.

"Is this why when we were on top of the building, you said you don't have to know me to save me, you just need to know my pain?" I ask, peering at him.

There's a moment of silence between us before he decided to answer me.

"Yes," He breathes, "I believe everyone suffers from pain and that we just to need to help and save each other."

His words hit me and it's hard to believe such a pure soul actually lives among us. I intertwine my fingers with his and what surprises me, is that Jacob let's it happen.

I suck in a breath. "Thank you for saving me, thank you." I say from the sincerest part of my heart.

The moment he saw me, he could have turned away. When I pushed him away, he could have give let me go and jump but he didn't, he made it his job to stop me from making a big mistake. Heck, this is the first time, I've smiled and laughed in ages really.

His brown eyes harden for second but still he takes my hand off the steering wheel and rests it on the gear with his hand on top.

"Your welcome."
