Victory

Adam would not go down here.

He would be letting down himself, Yerlarain who he made a promise to, and the fortune of binding to a system.

Adam's head raised, he blitzed at Jinna, driving his halberd at her shoulder.

He wanted to remove her ability to defend.

Using all the strength in his body, the blade of his halberd barely struck her other shoulder.

Allowing her to retain control and strength, over her axe carrying arm.

Some of the impact dissipated as her shoulders were covered by the fur of her cloak.

However, he was able to cause her to gnash her teeth, as a moderate gash was produced on her shoulder.

With greater ferocity, she slashed out with her axe at Adam's shoulder.

Adam faltered back, avoiding a gash on a shoulder himself.

Still, a trace of a cut appeared on his arm, causing a thin trail of blood to run down his less dominant arm.

Adam pushed forward, only a letting out a slight exhale as he stepped into Jinna's reach.

Now within arm's reach of her, Jinna's axe cratered down towards Adam, who was at risk of being split in half.

Adam growled, narrowly avoiding the axe by twisting his torso.

Her guard open, he belting his halberd at her abdomen.

As the blade of the halberd collided with her fur armor, he whipped the halberd up.

His halberd forming a thin stream of blood upon her collar, dripping on the sand of the pit before her..

Axe closing in on Adam as she pulled it near, Adam landed a vertical cut on her dominant, axe-wielding forearm.

A brief grimace on her face, Jinna ferociously drove her axe down, as Adam backed away.

Which produced a large cut on left leg, that had just pushed him back.

Adam furrowed his brow, his eyes bright, he barked: "Your spirit... is weak."

A frown formed on her lips gradually, veins solidifying on her forehead, and forearms.

"Is that so?" She stammered.

Taking a deep breath, Adam, a limp beginning, nodded, an unruly smirk on his face.

Adam with having his mobility reduced, limited his options.

Jinna and Adam facing each other, each of their movements strained, drove their weapons at each other.

The blade of Adam's halberd clashed with Jinna's axe.

Reverberations ran across Adam's body at the moment of impact.

A dull sensation running up his arms.

Both in worse condition, Adam and Jinna stumbled back.

Adam shaking his head, his teeth clenched, glared at Jinna, whose eyes were narrowed, a deep frown on her face.

Moving his body, Adam pushed closer, using the haft of his halberd to propel him forward.

Adam dragging it out of the sand, slashed his halberd at Jinna, who brought down her axe, her eyes reddened.

His halberd got deflected causing Adam to nearly flail back.

However, through pulling his halberd back over his head, to his front, he was able to barely stabilize himself.

A gap formed in his defense, Jinna slashed at Adam with her axe.

The axe landing on his abdomen, he flew back, back first into the sand.

His eyes growing heavy, he pressed onto the sand.

Adam's focus collapsed afforded Jinna a chance to blitz towards him.

He felt a sharp shiver crater down his back, as Jinna's axe glowed in the light of the fighting pit barreling at his skull.

He was in bad enough shape to surrender.

Hits teeth gritting, he slowly raised his gaze.

Adam's eyes focused on Jinna, a smile crept across his face.

Jinn's arm's tense, as the axe arrived inches away from Adam's neck.

Taking his helm off, his smile fell.

A thought drove into a skull: 'It is not worth dying to keep a promise.'

About to lean forward in surrender, Adam's eyes gleamed.

'No, thats not right.' Adam thought.

He wasn't here now to simply roll over and surrender.

Half a breath into a gasp, the axe drew a line of blood, across his neck.

Like rain against a window, a trail of blood dribbled down.

His head lifting, he stared at Jinna.

Adam's feeble smile lifted into a grin.

"Smiling because you know you wont die?" Jinna scoffed.

Blood trickling faster, the blood now crimson, Jinna pressed the axe slightly closer.

Frowning, she said: "Having insulted my honor, I am willing to kill you."

A glint reflected in his pupils, he remarked: "No, I smile because..." His voice dragging.

He swiftly opened his status and spent his 15 free stat points on strength.

The moment he did, his body surged with energy, as a stream of vitality burrowed into his ligaments and muscles.

He muttered: "...victory has not escaped my grasp."

Her brow's raising, she scoffed: "Fine, be crazy."

She pulled back her axe to strike his neck with her full power.

Adam, feeling more vigorous now, wavered to his feet.

"Dying standing? There are worse ways to die." She mused, her axe driving down.

Blood trickling to the ground from his neck, down his arm, and leg, Adam plucked the halberd from the ground, holding it horizontally.

The axe slammed against the halberd's haft.

Jinna's eyes sprung open as his halberd only slightly shook, she retracted her arm, her gaze serious.

As her shoulder twisted, going for another strike, Adam thrusted out with his halberd.

The air seemed to scream, as it shuttled towards Jinna.

Jinna immediately formed a guard, with the axe.

As it landed, her pupils rolled back. Her axe flew out of her hand as she flew through the air, forming a crater a few feet away.

Strutting forward, his face pale from blood loss, he stood over Jinna.

Her eyes fully white, Adam stated: "I will be taking these."

Grabbing the hand wraps off her arms, he started to bandage his wounds.

Calling back, Adam he mused: "Think of these as my spoils of victory."

Cratering through the arena, through the deafening cheers of the audience, the announcer's voice bellowed: "Adam's winning streak stays alive, in his victory over Jinna!"

Adam, stood tall, as he staggered out of the arena.

In his ears, the sound of notifications echoed.

His actual spoilers of victory, from the system, stacked in his vision.
