Mine

"So, the shapes in the Light have come out to visit me? You sound very similar to the voice the Light has."

I was passing time by trying to sleep when I heard the sound of a door opening, only this time it was in the wrong location. This door was right by the Light's wall. I sat up, curious, and out came a shape. He introduced himself as Doctor Pallapine.

"Today I am going to ask you some questions. Please answer them to the best of your ability."

Hmmm….Sure, why not.

"Sure, why not. Ask away!"

Doctor Pallapine took out a larger version of what Mye left here, only white in color. He began reading it to himself before doing something to himself. Maybe he has a coat on? I can't tell because despite knowing his name, Doctor Pallapine is still a grey shape to me. I can't seem to figure out what made Mye so much...so much more special.

Thinking of Mye, I haven't seen her in a while and I was starting to get annoyed. Mye was mine. I should have said it and made it clear. I don't know why I did but I could see that simple truth no matter what I did. Mye was mine.

Yet, why is it that every time I think that I feel a shiver and this odd feeling? I don't like that feeling.

"Do you know who Daren Jack Kalesidia is?"

My thoughts were interrupted by Doctor Pallapine. I instantly perked up at the familiar name, though I remembered it a little differently.

"Isn't that daddy's name? Though if I remember correctly, isn't his name Jack Daren Kalesidia?"

Doctor Pallapine waved his hand at the other shapes in the Light before turning back towards me.

"Yes, that is correct. Now on to question two. How much do you remember about your past?"

I tried to remember anything but once again nothing came up. Just like last time, a very bad feeling spread through my head, making me clutch my head. The shape flinched for whatever reason and that tasty smell increased somewhat before Doctor Pallapine started breathing funny, which then the smell died down. After a little while, more the bad feeling in my head went away.

"Nothing. I remember nothing."

I was feeling bad now like I had a hole in my chest. I briefly considered ripping my chest open to find out but decided against it. The feeling wasn't going away but in fact, was becoming worse. I needed something to fill this hole up. Hmmm...Food! Yeah, food will work!

"May I have some food? I feel empty."

Doctor Pallapine seemed to be surprised at that. The tasty scent also died down as well.

"Sure. We'll resume when you have finished eating."

Doctor Pallapine waved his hand at the shapes in Light before exiting the room through the Light door. I sighed and waited.

I jumped onto the ceiling once I smelled the familiar scent of prey. For some reason, prey coming out of the food door smells different than Doctor Pallapine. More...dirty...though I have no idea what dirty means. I guess it has to do with the smell.

The shape entered and like normal was confused as to why this room is empty and why they were here. When they had walked past me to examine the restraint chair I jumped down from the ceiling and impaled them with my tail. They let out a loud but garbled noise. For some reason that really annoyed me. I grabbed their...no her, though it isn't like their gender ever matters to me, arm and pulled them deeper onto my tail. They let out another garbled noise and coughed up the sweet red liquid that they were made out of. With one more pull, most of their torso was destroyed and they didn't make any other noise.

Silence filled my room. After studying the non-moving prey a little bit I couldn't help but let out a smile. Then I started chuckling before breaking into a giggle as I flipped their body around and watched the blood and guts spill out. That was what that red liquid was called. Blood. And the pinkish soft flesh must be guts. Both were tasty and both were fun to watch as they drip out of the wounds I create on prey.

I wonder if the shapes in the Light are different from prey when it comes to wounds and blood but then I remembered the shape I killed as an example earlier. The only difference is their smell...which is unfortunate. I wonder if I kill someone with magic if they would bleed differently?

I licked my lips and watched as the body slowly slid off my tail as I angled it down. I let out another giggle when the body fell. It was funny, what could I say?

As I ate I felt my mind drift off towards Mye. How was she doing? I wanted to see her badly. I had a feeling that if anyone could fix this damn void I was feeling then it would be her. Yeah, that's what I will do. I'll see her once I am done eating.

I started humming a foreign yet familiar tune as I thought of what Mye could be doing without me...though now that I am thinking about it, the thought of Mye doing something without me was annoying. I growled quietly before I went back to humming, ripping off the jaw of my food and putting it in my mouth. With a nice little crunch, I swallowed the jaw in one bite.

For some reason, when I finally am done eating, I think that maybe this is a little too messy for Mye.

….

I was really regretting leaving Ava's room. Not only was I not allowed to leave my room for two weeks but now that I am finally out I have one of dad's men following me around to make sure I never go near Ava again. And I really want to see her.

I'm sure if I told the very few friends or my personal maid what I was feeling or what happened that they would freak out. I mean, I wanted to see a Zenar again. That would be like telling your friend whose family was murdered by a serial killer that you are friends with said serial killer! I was lucky that that was all that came with me breaking into a top-secret room though. It could have been much worse.

Also, was it just me or did Ava look very familiar? I swear I've seen her before. The name is familiar too. I thought of looking the name up but didn't want to risk getting in trouble again by looking up the name of this Zenar.

So here I was walking about three to four miles away from Ava's containment room with a professional Zenar Hunter named Brian. He was a sweet guy, red hair, young, good facial and body details, and a nice personality. If he ever gets a break from his job he would most definitely land himself a wife in no time flat. He was a natural lady charmer.

Of course, I wasn't interested in him. Not only is he eleven years older than me but he was also not that attractive to me. In fact, guys, in general, have never made my heart flutter, even if they were handsome. It made me wonder what my type was. Who was it that I find attractive?

My mind instantly went to Ava. Her cute personality and dog-like behavior on all fours and suddenly looking like a hot mature athletic older sister when she stands up. I instantly blush.

Wait wait wait! Mye, Ava is a Zenar and a girl! No, the girl part is something but the entire Zenar thing is something even more serious! She is a killer. You know that and you saw firsthand what she can do.

I shuddered. I still vividly remember when Ava crushed the head of that poor researcher, only sparing him a glance before looking at the light like it was a living thing.

Because to her, it is a living thing.

Add insane to the list too.

Yet despite those pretty big setbacks, I couldn't help but still wonder back to Ava. She seems like a decent person. Sure her personality is warped due to her being a Zenar but if you remove that bloodlust of hers then you would get a cute and adorable naive girl.

"Hey, you okay?"

I looked up at Brian. He had nice green eyes. I wonder if I had eyes like his instead of my creepy red ones if I would make more friends. It was a silly thought but I had it nonetheless.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Don't worry. That beast won't get a chance to hurt you."

I frowned, feeling angry at his words. I know that he doesn't know the full story and I also know that he grew up hating Zenars. But even still, what he said stung.

"Ava isn't like that. She's much better company than my dad and even my uncle."

Brian frowned before letting out a long sigh. He then stopped walking.

"Are you really going to visit her if I let my eye off you?"

I stood up straighter and looked him in the eyes.

"Yes, and father can't stop me."

Above I noticed a security camera recording us. Normally security cameras have a red light one showing that they are on but not being controlled manually. When that light turns blue it means the camera is being operated by someone, which means in this case that someone is watching us.

Brian let out another sigh before aiming his automatic rifle right at me. I froze, shocked as to what was happening.

"Sorry, kiddo but orders are orders. Don't worry, this is set on stun. You'll only be sleeping for a whi-"

All the lights in the area turned light blue. The alarm meant one simple little thing that, despite its light color, meant something that everyone feared.

A Zenar has escaped.

Brian cursed and aimed his gun at the door, switching it to kill mode. He was a professional Zenar Hunter. He knew what he was doing. Yet despite that I could see beads of sweat forming on his forehead and he was twitching slightly. It goes to show that no matter who you are or how skilled you are at killing Zenars, the moment you hear one is loose you can't help but quiver in fear and wonder if this mission is your last.

Zenar Hunters are often killed. Only a few squads successfully live a year on the job. One Zenar can wipe out armies. One Zenar is enough to send an entire colony to commit suicide. Because all it takes is one Zenar to reach a kill count of over a thousand in a heavily guarded facility filled with professional Zenar Hunters and anti-Zenar protocols.

I let out a whimper, not sure if I was scared of me dying or never seeing Ava again. That was when I heard a loud crash followed by a bang. Time seemed to slow and I noticed metal pieces and glass were floating in the air, nothing but tiny scraps. Then red droplets of a liquid filled my vision.

Blood!

Then I noticed that Brian was gone and there was a very powerful gust of wind. I looked to the right and saw that the hallway I was just in was covered in cracks and broken. I then looked to my left.

Brian was lying in a crater, nothing but a bloody pulp. The eighteen-inch thick yedalian metal wall was busted completely, and standing over Brian was Ava. She was panting but not even looking the least bit tired. Her red eyes were casting a glow over Brian's well-dead corpse. Before I could do anything else but blink Ava started growling, the volume of her growl rising and rising util with a snarl she started punching Brian's corpse a total of seven times all in the span of a second. Each punch caused the entire ground to shake as if an earthquake was happening. I was about to fall when Ava's tail snaked towards me and supported me. I looked down and swore I saw two yellow lights on the side of the sharpened blade end. No, two glowing yellow eyes. But once it settled me the tail went back to Ava, the lights gone.

After a couple of seconds, Ava turned to face me. Her hands were coated in blood but the blood not on her hands was slowly sinking into her. Even the shirt and shorts had this property. I guess that explains why she always seems to be clean except for her hands when she must be a messy eater.

I took a step back and Ava cocked her head, confused. She then went on all fours and started walking circles around me, sniffing me before growling in disgust.

"I don't like that smell coming off you. What can I do to make it stop?"

It took me a couple of seconds to realize she was talking about the fear scent on me. From our short time before I learned that Ava smells fear and it excites her like sugar to a little kid. Yet now she seems to be disgusted by the smell of fear on me.

At this conclusion I began to calm down, smiling slightly. Ava's tail curled around me again without actually touching my body and Ava began to rub her head against my legs and hips like a cat would. I reached down and started petting her, Ava let out a purr, a sound mixed between a cute little girl and a cat.

"Don't worry. That smell will disappear soon."

"Hmmm. That's good."

Before anything else could happen three fully geared Zenar Hunters rounded the corners. Ava didn't seem to pay them any mind until they pointed their guns at us. In a flash Ava was in front of me, her tail still curled around me but the tip arched like a scorpion's. Ava then roared.

I've heard Zenrars roar in the distance and it was terrifying. Yet those failed to compare to Ava's roar. It was something completely non-human and not even wild. It was a sound of pure hatred that would make even Gods tremble. The three Zenar Hunters dropped their guns and pissed their pants, their fear so strong that even I could smell it. Ava took a step forward and snarled one word that made my heart skip a beat.

"MINE!"
