24 Chapter 24. The Griffin and the Prisoner

Hiro arrives at the mountains seeing the brightest light at the top of one of the peaks. It looked as if a star had been plucked from the sky and placed atop the mountain.

"So this is the place?"

Hiro noticed that these mountains were different than the other mountains. It was covered in lush greenery and was incredibly warm. The mountain seemed to be an haven for life and creatures he had never seen before. He flew close to the top where the rocks were separated by forest and water. A wall of fire blocked a small path between the forest and water.The fire was burning Hot but all Hiro felt was life energy from the flames.The scale he was holding onto from Dwarvenguard begin to be inflamed again.

"This must be the place where he is trapped. I guess there's no time like the present."

Hiro walked through the wall of flame unscathed and continued to walk up the path eventually coming to a place where a teenager was chained up. He was bleeding from his side and his long hair covered his face. Hiro walked towards the boy until he was covered by a huge shadow. Over his head was a griffin as big a a dragon and landed in front of Hiro separating his path to the chained boy. It left out s deafening screech. The screech shook Hiro to his bones but he stood firm.

"So you're the beast that's keeping Theo prisoner here. You're alot bigger than I imagined."

The griffin opened it's mouth.

"And who are you to come to this place? There shouldn't be a way in here without being Zeus himself."

The Griffin sniff the air.

"No mere I'm not sure what you are should be able to get into this place and yet here you are. No even the gods can come to this place."

"I think you just left the gate unlocked any thing can just wonder in here you got to be careful there's some pretty dangerous creatures around here."

"I was interested on how you were able to be here no matter I'm done talking to you fool. I will rip the flesh from your bones and feed on your mana."

The Griffin flying at Hiro with incredible veracity attacking Hiri with his razor sharp talons. Hiro grabs the Griffins front two talons and holds him in place.

"Ya know threatening your guests like that makes you a bad host. What if my feelings were hurt by you bird brained rudeness."

Hiro crushes one of the talons breaking the bones in the claw. The Griffin backs off.

"I underestimated your strength. A mistaken that will not happen again. "

The griffin opens and closes his broken claw and it heals.

"I've been feeding on the mana of that titan so I can heal from any injury."

"Well that's not playing fair."

"Do you think this is some kind of game? YOU'RE FIGHTING TO SURVIVE!!!! Wind Magic: Seversing wind!"

The wind forced Hiro into the cliff leaving him cut all over his body. The Griffin dives into Hiro pushing him further into the cliff. The Griffin grabs Hiro and flys upwards and throws him into the ground.

"Wind magic:Severing Tornado!"

The Griffin spinning into a tornado and dive bombs Hiro. The Griffin walks away from the rubble and crater he just created.

"You weren't as tough as you thought boy."

Hiro climbs out of the rubble with many cuts but overall still intact.

"It'll take more than that to kill me. While you were were trying to kill me I took one of your stupid talons dumbass."

"What?"

The Griffin looks down at his claw noticing the missing talon.

"I was trying to test something out."

"All that for a talon that will grow back. You really must be a fool."

"I don't think that's growing back."

The Griffin looks at his claw and notices that no matter the amount of mana he channels into healing his talon it's not growing back.

"What did you do to me?Why cant I heal?"

"While you were going on a rampage i didn't show you my magic. After i ripped that talon off I cauterised it to see if it would grow back or not."

"I should be able to heal from any normal burns from fire."

"That's if my fire was normal. Mine is the genuine article. You was wondering how I got in here didn't you? I walked in through the fire. "

"Impossible!"

"Call it what you want but it's my turn to stop holding back! Ignition fist: kaen full body."

"What he says is impossible and yet I'm not healing."

"I don't know what your mutterings to yourself about but you should really play attention. "

Hiro appears under the Griffin's stomach and kicks him into the air. Theres a small singe mark on it's stomach. The griffin open his wings to stop his momentum but Hiro appears above him and grabs both of his wings causing him to fall out of the air. The griffin crashes into the ground. He struggles to get up as his body slowly repairs itself. The Griffin tries to grab Hiro again but is burned by the flames surrounding his body. Hiro punches and kicks the talon and back legs of the Griffin breaking them. Hiro kicks the Griffin's head to the ground and steps on him.

"Why do you hesitate to kill me? I'm clearly no match for you."

"Well I'm not sure what might happen to Theo if I were to kill you right now. There could he a curse that kills him if you die. I can't take that risk. I came to save him besides I'm trying something new instead of just killing my problems I have a few questions for you. Anytime I feel you're not telling me the truth I'll rip off a limb and burn it so it won't heal back. You won't die but you'll certainly wish you were dead. "

"Very well ask your questions."

"Is there any magic that will kill Prometheus if I free him?"

"His chains were made to seal the power of a titan and prevent himself from escaping there should be no magic that prevents you from freeing him with consequence."

"Question 2 Do you know why Prometheus was chained here?"

"According to Zeus he was trying to protect disgusting little humans and stole the flame of the gods to protect any gods from following them."

"So he was telling the truth. My last question why do you serve Zeus?"

"As terrifying as you are the gods a thousands times worse they have no mercy for their enemies. But lately I haven't felt the presence of the god that put me here."

"Fine. If you leave now I won't kill you but if you refuse to leave and stand in my way I'll just kill you."

"I cannot leave the barrier the only way out is through the flames that would kill me anyways."

Hiro extinguishes the flame wall.

"Consider this a gift for the information. Now leave before I change my mind."

The Griffin flys out of the place with his talon still missing. Hiro walks to the chained teen and looks at him. He looks way different then Theo and is very handsome. Hiro grabs the chains.

"Okay burn only the chains."

He focused his fire and burns the chains off. He catches the falling teenager and notices the injury on his side slowly disappearing. The boy's eyes were dull and lifeless.

"Hey are you in there old man?"

The golem Theo turns to stone in Dwarvenguard and looks like a statue. Colour returned to the boy's eyes and he began to speak.

"Thank you Hiro."

"I told you one hundred fold. But I'm going to take a nap because that bird got me pretty good. "

Hiro passes out and is teleported back to Dwarvenguard by Prometheus.
