2 Chapter 2. The beginning

What grudge did this man have against the gods? so many questions raced through my head but mostly it was this intense feeling of hunger. It wasn't the same as when you haven't eaten it was like my body ached for power like it was being pulled towards strength. This man had an air of strength around him. It was pulling me in like a black hole and all I wanted to do is create my only gravity. He can give me what I desire above all .....power.

"What should I call you?" Hiro asked. "Hmm you can call me Theo"

The man responded.

"But for now I must fix these wounds. I can't have my new weapon die before I can use it."

Theo raised his hand over Hiro's body. Theo's eyes began to glow and a surge of energy bombarded Hiro. The magic lit up the night sky like a star and Hiro's injures healed instantly. He felt his broken leg fix and go back to normal and every ache and pain he felt disappeared.

But the energy kept coming and his entire body felt different than normal. He felt a surge of something deep inside his being infusing every inch of his body with power.

"Is this.... magic?"

Hiro floated above the ground and his body radiated out power stronger than he had ever felt. For an instant, he felt as if he could conquer the world then it was gone.

"What did you just do to me? What was that?"

"My boy that was magic and all I did was forge your body into something more durable."

" Am I still human? "

"Yes, you are very much still human all I gave you was a spark it is your responsibility to grow that spark into something else. Follow me we have much to discuss and must make haste to a place to train before sunrise."

"A place to train? What do you mean by train?"

"Did you think I'd give you power without any knowledge of how to use it? That would be foolish you'd probably die before you figured it out."

"Then why are we still here let's get moving old man."

Hiro had never felt this good in his whole life like he was unbreakable. He wanted to push his limits to see what he could do. Could he do magic? The thing that takes humans a lifetime to even begin to understand? Hiro was running faster than he had ever run and felt freer than he had ever felt. Faster, stronger and more agile like the world slowed down to let him pass. He hit a tree with his body full force. The wind was swiftly kicked out of his sails and his lungs. The tree had broken and fell on top of Hiro and aside from the wind being gone, he felt no pain. He felt the weight of this mighty tree bearing down on him but he wasn't crushed.

"I need help! I'm stuck. "

"This world is full of different situations that no one can help you out of. If you're alive enough to call for help then you're alive enough to find a way out. If you can't do that much then there is no hope for you. "

"Has anyone ever told you that you make bad company?"

Theo smiles, "Once or twice but you better find a way out and catch up before the goblins come and trust me they make the worse company."

" What does he mean by finding a way out !?! This thing weighs as much as a giant, an ogre, and orc combine."

Hiro thought that it weighed more than he could measure but he didn't feel crushed or pinned. These were concepts he thought of because of his predicament not because of how he felt at that moment.

Creek...Snap.....

"If I'm not crushed then maybe!!!! I'm not as weak as I thought!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Hiro lifted this massive tree like it was made of griffon feathers. He lifted this tree like he was the mighty Heracles and threw it into another tree.

What is this power I feel? It's surging through me like a typhoon. Such ridiculous strength! what did he do to me?

"That is vital magic one of the most fundamental magics your body has been enhanced by it making you far stronger than any normal human. If I had to guess you're body is about as durable as most demihumans but at the higher end like an elf or a giant."

"Are you sure I'm still human?"

"If you weren't you wouldn't be able to get stronger."

"I don't understand what you mean"

"Everything will become clear once we reach our destination "

"I thought you had left."

"I did if I had stayed you wouldn't have had to test yourself "

"So the goblins thing was a lie?!!"

"No, that threat was very real."

"So you're saying if I wasn't able to lift that tree I would have died?"

Theo looks at Hiro giving him a devilish smile and continues to walk forward.

" If"

"You're Mad!"

"I never said I wasn't. Let's go boy sunrise is in a couple of hours and I want to make it to the training ground before the dragons wake up"

"Dragons?!? did you just say dragons?"

" Move it boy"

Theo started moving swiftly through the forest and Hiro used his newfound power to run and jump and keep pace with Theo. In one hour they had reached the training grounds.

"We made a good time boy, I'm surprised you kept up for so long. You might have some talent yet."

Hiro passed out on the entrance to the training grounds. Theo laughs picking up Hiro and putting him dead center the training grounds.

Theo then puts up a magical barrier about the grounds. Theo put himself into a deep meditation and allowed Hiro to sleep past sunrise because he knew this was the last time hiro would be relaxed enough to sleep peacefully.
