P.O.V Zatland

What just happened? I just witnessed the brain matter of a man scatter into many fragments, on the wall behind him. The mechanics of the process looking awfully similar to a watermelon exploding.

Human bodies shouldn't explode like that, but the logic in my thoughts said....it was only physics.

I guess before you witness it...your first murder, you'll never understand how fragile another human being is.

It is that realizations that make a man almost vomit. Those two images of gore and glee were coming together, in a terrifying synchronization with one another.

That you are just as fragile as those inanimate objects you once destroyed, that Those things you laughed at in happiness, because they were easy. Could easily happen to you in the same manner.

The first day an ant realized that...he was an ant

It really breaks your perception of immortality.

a bang and your heart beat more rapidly than the person who is dying.

I took a deep breath and crouched down silently to visualize my earlier military training. While I had never seen a body before, I had been training to see one for several years of my life.

I looked at the opposite wall from me, and while breathing hard Zion stabilized his mentality.when you've visualized as many bodies as us, you know how to turn off your basic instinct, to fear and be revolted...

Don't get me wrong the feelings still there; its just repressed like a memory so I can function.

I pointed down to my watch and sent him a text message.

[Zatland: You ok? What should we do now? Do you see any other people in the building?]

When the gunshot went off, me and Zion had crouched down in opposite direction, giving us two vantage points at which to see.

[Zion: I'm not sure, I think I can see a few shadows behind the body. Wtf is happening Zoo?]

Zion showed his panic on his face as emphasis.

We were both panicking a little; we just didn't expect him to lay a body on the ground, immediately as we entered. It had only been a few seconds since he first entered the building. Why would he immediately kill someone?

I calmed down, civilian level guns could only cause minor wounds to us per round shot, since we were graduates from the military academy, and the fact there were two of us, there was no way we could fuck up and die.

But now that a civilian was gunned down in front of us, we also wondered if we were partially to blame.

I looked down at my watch and began to dial the authorities; I hoped I wouldn't be blamed for not calling them sooner. I was wondering if we should just guard outside the door or not.

Cowardly thoughts.
