24 2780-Space City Iron Lake (044165)-Fall (1)

You had to give it to her, when she was late she was late in the most spectacularly unimaginable of fashions, after 6 hours of journeying Patrice realized that she wouldn't be making it to her own recruitment date on time, and because she was joining the military there would be an extremely brutal penalty to be paid for that.

including but not limited to delaying her life's goal from one to three years, if she wasn't there within three hours, in just three hours.

three hours that would decide her destiny.

Three hour's!..... that was the amount of time left that she had to make a ten-hour long journey, across an impossible to cross distance.

if this wasn't the definition of despair Patrice didn't know what it was, but Patrice hadn't yet given up, it may have been because of her personality or her blatant penchant for misbehavior, but she had begun formulating a crazy plan, a crazy plan that had been in the machinations of her imagination, for all of two hours.

A crazy plan that was so escalating, as she made it at the moment because of her panic-stricken state of mind. A plan that she may have just recently begun to think was looking a little like a plausible idea.

Iron lake base was still a space station. That means it was a spaceship which several walls were protecting from the elements of outer space, it was like a beehive or a cocoon, that surrounded a fragile nougaty center. The gooey filling being the humans inside, The top layer of the base approached several doorways that you could use to evacuate the base and enter the outer layers of the core of the ship.

Plenty of these exits existed throughout the ship, and they could take a certain amount of persons away from their area in the hold. The only catch was, if not in an emergency situation normal people wouldn't be given the ability to access the outer top layers.

In fact, it was an illegal access area that if you weren't given a certain amount of clearance, by your local governmental system, You'd be fined or jailed for your trespass.

Living in the most hectic, hustling and bustling floor of the iron lake base, Patrice had met many high-class merchants sons and daughters and learned of some of the known areas of those spots, that they were allowed to go between.

It was a form of status to see how far away from the captain's office they could get, just by climbing. You could understand that not very many people made it so far.

yet people who had jobs in some certain governmental fields and members of the food service industries often had access to those areas, because there were many workers that shuffled in and out of place on the discrimination.

they were needed to keep up with the ships maintenance and upkeep and defenses and certainly many other things.

If she could disguise herself and sneak past security as a worker. She could do it; she could make it to her class on time.

But if anyone discovered it was her, she could get in trouble and get seriously fined. It was a 206,782 Credit fine for those who were caught trespassing, so if you were a civilian, you definitely couldn't be caught passing through here unintended.

Two-hundred and a thousand credits, the average civilian could never pay that off without taking a steep financial setback, but a military officer might still... could.

Patrice lived here on the iron lake, so unlike the students who came here from outside of the base, she knew of the student given jobs on the base and their lucrative pay for their military service.

If she got fined she would have to give up on maybe two years of pay in her enrollment into the military, but if she didn't, she might end up paying the penalty for the late student embarrassment session, a tortures penalty game, that would often lead to humiliation, demerits, and in her case that would be there in 7 late hours, possible permanent demotions.

She really wished she hadn't snuck into the bar and got drunk yesterday, she just wanted to party because today was the first day of her entire life, and she wasn't being serious enough about it, her life's career, this was supposed to be the first day of her new life and she was about to ruin it permanently.

Even if she somehow became a military officer now, her lateness would reflect on her throughout her entire military endeavors as a bad joke.

'oh I heard you were late your first day of squadrons... then you must be a real slow learner then?"

She had no choice; she was going to have to break the law if she wanted to survive this cruel ordeal. She had already made up her decision. She was going to have to break into the off access area of an active military base.

If her elder brother Samuel were able to hear her thoughts now he'd shout 'nooo', he needed her to be stopped immediately, what she had forgotten was that the fine of 200,000 had to be paid immediately upon being found guilty.

He didn't even have more than 900 lonely credits to his name, and he still had to pay for his new girlfriend's cell phone charges, as Patrice would probably be re-wiring the thing to sell it.

Then again it was also his fault for not keeping an eye on his sister, and then not knowing when she was supposed to report for her assignment. He only thought if she was late, then she would have to have handled her own punishments herself and maybe learn a lesson from them.

Never would he have thought, that this sister of his would commit a one hundred percent traceable crime, a crime that would affect his emptying pockets for centuries to come, and probably effect on his son's and daughters accounts.

he wasn't even ready yet.

he wanted to find a girl, settle down; but that patty was about to uproot his life, and kick it with her big fat booth again, all while being far away from him.

all because she didn't want to be late for her first day of training.

When Samuel would later find out, he would believe he was facing his first day of reckoning. A reckoning that would crush even his balls to smithereens.

Patrice not long after arrived before one of the so-called accesses to the base, looking around swiftly to see if she could see anyone that was entering the passageways through the security or heading toward the direction of it.

She wasn't even surprised when she looked ahead and saw several men carrying supplies inside in those rollable trunks, capable of carrying over a few thousand tons.

She wasn't sure if she was very lucky or unlucky, but it was said luck favors the wicked before their fall...

maybe it was both.
