12 Old Chief

As Zack finished the last Grimm, he twirled his gigantic sword like it didn't weigh anything and placed it at his back.

Zack was suddenly hit with nostalgia as he did this, he couldn't but smile as he remembered his sword back then, the sword he got from his mentor and one he entrusted to his friend. Even though he knew that he was supposed to be from a game, he still couldn't help miss everyone there, '… Aerith, shame I couldn't read your letters for me back then, even though the psycho who took your life is in my head now ~hello~, I'll never forget you, that's why I gotta keep moving forward and hope that someday, I get to meet you again on the next life' (A/N: I know I know, that's so corny, in my defense, when I wrote this, I was listening to Aerith's theme)

Zack was broken from his thoughts as he realized that the one's he saved were thanking him happily.

"Whoa! That was so cool mister! You were like a hero!" the little cat-girl said enthusiastically while bringing everyone with her, the fear from before disappeared from her face as it was replaced with hope and awe.

Zack seeing this smile at the little girl as he remembered his last thoughts before he died.

"You betcha I Am!" Zack answered with a big smile.

"You swoosh, swish swoosh then bam! That was so awesome!" the little cat-girl said while mimicking his actions from before with her sound-effects.

"Thank you, young man, if it weren't for you, we wouldn't survive that" One of the men came forward while bowing his head to him.

"Thank you!!" Everyone, but the little cat-girl still busy mimicking him, bowed in gratitude.

"Don't mention it, the name's Zack Fair, by the way, I'm just glad I made it in time," Zack said while scratching the back of his head.

"Oh yeah, give me a second, I gotta call old man Ghira," Zack said as he brought out his scroll and video called Ghira.

"ZACK!, HOW DID IT GO? HOW IS EVERYONE!?" Ghira immediately picked up as he instantly bombarded Zack with questions.

"Calm down old man, everyone's safe, see" Zack replied as he showed them waving their arms at the screen to show they were fine.

*Exhale* "Great job kid, now escort them back, bring my motorcycle back, and for the last time, QUIT CALLING ME OLD MAN!!!" Ghira visibly relaxed but yelled again at the end.

"Will do, old man!" Zack said like he didn't hear anything.

"WHA-" *tooot* *tooot* but Zack hung up on him.

"That's too bad, the line got cut, Oh well, come on lets rest for a while then head back," Zack said with an innocent expression on his face.

Everyone seeing this, twitched a little at the shamelessness of this young man towards their chieftain, except for one

"Big brother, why did you call the chieftain an old man?" the little cat-girl asked innocently.

"!!!"

Before any of them could've stopped them, Zack immediately answered with no sense of mercy in his tone.

"Because the chieftain is already so old, that's why I call him old man or old chief," Zack said with no hesitation on his face.

"..."

"Oh, alright I'll call him old chief from now on big brother!" The little cat-girl said as she nodded sagely.

"..."

"Good girl, but you know what's even better than you calling him old chief?" Zack said innocently.

"..."

"Really, like what?" the little cat-girl curiously asked.

This time, everyone hurriedly went forward towards Zack to shut his mouth before saying anymore but alas, his tongue was faster than them.

"All the kids in the village calling him old chief" Zack promptly answered with a good naturely smile.

As for the reason Zack is doing this, it's because Ghira touched his limited premium chocolate he placed in a secret compartment on the fridge, all that was left was a tiny piece of wrapper proving that it was once there. Good thing he placed a camera looking at the fridge as he saw who the culprit was and now.

"WOOWW! Big brother, that is a good idea!, don't worry big brother! As soon as we arrive back at the village I will spread your teachings!!" the little cat-girl said enthusiastically as she proudly saluted her hero.

"Atta girl, come on, it looks like everyone rested enough, time to back" Zack smiled at the little girl.

"Alright, let's go big brother!" the little girl took one of Zack's hands as they both walked proudly towards the village.

"..." Everyone else is pretty speechless by this as they can only follow those two.

"Oh yeah, the motorcycle" Zack suddenly remembered as he took the motorcycle then continued walking but he placed the little girl on the motorcycle's seat as she played with the controls and made funny sounds.

As everyone heard the little girl's playing, they suddenly forgot that they almost died today and just smiled at the antics of this girl but they also forgot to talk to her about the whole calling the chieftain, old chief.

It has been two weeks since then, and Zack finally finished his new motorcycle, it looks exactly like Cloud's motorcycle, Fenrir. He finished it faster than before because he didn't have to build this from scratch as he made use of Ghira's connections but what he didn't foresee was that Ghira adamantly demanded (A.K.A grown man tantrum) to make Zack build one for him too, the old man did even go far as to tell on Zack to his wife.

Zack didn't have a choice because a grown man crying and begging for him to build his customized motorcycle was pretty disturbing so Zack gave in. He built it in just a week as he took an ordinary one then just tinkered it to make it twice as fast as an ordinary one and made it look unique. Ghira was like a kid on Christmas when he finally saw it and he kept thanking Zack. Ghira even joked that if Zack ever becomes his daughter's boyfriend, he will welcome Zack already to the family.

Zack just laughs it off but something tells him that Ghira was partially serious on that one as he often heard Kali joked about me being her son she never had.

As for his relationship with Blake, Zack tried many times to make a conversation but all he got was a grunt, a nod, and narrowed eyes. However, he didn't give up easily so he made a horrible item known as a laser pointer, and the result, Blake chased him for an entire day trying to destroy his laser but he didn't let up until she gave him some local chocolate. Because of that, he became distracted and she took it, smashed it to pieces, burned it, and then she buried it like it was her natural enemy.

She looked so satisfied back then so Zack didn't want to point out that he could just make it again, he felt if he said something then, Blake would cut off his hands just to stop him.

During his stay in the Belladonna household, he finally made his weapon as he realized back then that he missed his last sword. He extended his stay just for designing and forging his new weapon.

After one week, he finally finished it. He based his original buster sword and he somehow remembered about this game 'Godeater', so he brainstormed for a few hours and made it.

The sword was six feet long and the blade was one foot wide, the blade itself was like his old one but attached to the base guard was a half-foot cannon nozzle parallel to the direction of the blade. When it transforms into cannon mode, half of the blade folds and the nozzle extends depending on being long-range or mid-range. If it's long-range, the nozzle stretches to five feet long and the cannon focuses on piercing damage as it can reach up to one mile but it's firing rate becomes five seconds apart.

While in mid-range, the nozzle stretches only to three feet and it is based on a grenade launcher, it's meant for crowd control as it can only reach 150 meters while it's firing rate is only one second apart from each shot.

Both ammunition for these are his Aura, that's right, the ammunition for this is a large amount of aura, there's a cable attached to his wrist band while wielding this weapon as it sucks a high amount of aura to condense to an unbelievable degree mixed in with a few amounts of fire dusts and then fires depending on its form. Long-range takes about ten percent while the mid-range takes only two percent.

As Zack finished building his new weapon, Azaroth, he thought of building his friend Cloud's fusion sword a.k.a First Tsurugi because he completely recreated his motorcycle so why not just go for the whole package and he might use it on a pure old fashioned sword fight. After that though, it took six days just to finish it as he made a sword a day.

Zack was feeling very proud of his creations that he showed it to Ghira, and pretty easy to say that the old man was again jealous and wanted one but as he tried to lift it, he finally realized that it weighed a 100-pound for Azaroth while First Tsurugi is 60 pounds, needless to say, Ghira took effort just to swing one.

When Ghira saw how Zack casually carried and swung it, it made him bitter that he grumbled for three days for the injustice of lacking a kick-ass looking sword.

As Zack finished everything he wanted to do, it was time for him to leave but he took another three days to relax first and helped the Belladonna family, ranging to emergencies rescues, helping to clean the house to Blake contacting him to buy this suspicious black colored book but he didn't peek inside as he felt then that he wouldn't unsee whatever inside it so Zack wisely left it at Blake's front door and knocked on it then left.

Since then, Blake wasn't that heavily guarded with him anymore as sometimes she leisurely asked him about his life back then at Patch.

Like that three days went by as it was time for him to depart, he already told them what he will do in the future as he's gonna apply to Beacon in two years. Zack invited Blake to attend with him but she rejected saying she still has many things to take care of.

As the Belladonna family and Zack in his Fenrir stand in the docks they came to say their goodbyes.

Kali was reluctant to see off Zack as she said that he hasn't made a move on her daughter yet. Needless to say, Blake was very embarrassed that she ran away after saying her farewell first to Zack then being Kali, who was very affectionate of her daughter, ran after her after saying her good luck and safe journey to him.

Ghira and Zack laughed at this as they were already used to those two mother-daughter bonding.

"Well I guess this is brat, take care of yourself out there and you're welcome to drop by anytime," Ghira said as he looked at Zack like he was his son.

"Sure thing old man, I'll be sure to drop by If I ever go anywhere near this place," Zack said while smiling and giving his thumbs up.

*sigh* "You know what, I'm not gonna comment anymore, just good luck on that place, I still can't get you, why would you want to go there as that place is the Grimm's nation, there won't be any villages there just all Grimms" Ghira reminded him the dangers of the Land of Darkness.

"It's alright old man, it's just I have a feeling if I go there, I can finally unlock my semblance. I don't know, it's just hard to explain like something is telling me to go there" Zack said as he thought out loud.

"This is one of my main reasons for going out to venture so don't worry old man, I got this" Zack said reassuringly with an excited grin.

"Well, since I can't seem to change your mind, all I can say to you is beware of some Grand Alpha Grimms over there as they are usually bigger, stronger, and smarter than any Alpha Grimms so be careful brat" Ghira seriously warned him. ( A/N: Bullsh*t no jutsu)

"Grand Alpha? Never heard of it" Zack asked curiously.

"To exterminate one needs a huge amount of fire-power, namely a young Grand Alpha's known in history namely Sea Feilong known as the Grimm sea dragon, usually It's seen in far-off seas but this Grimm was never seen as a full-grown one as those things are said to be on flee-on sight notice" Ghira answered and gave an example.

"Hmm thanks, I'll be sure to keep an eye for it then" Zack nodded appreciatively.

Ghira nodded as well, smiled, and then patted his shoulder. Kali wasn't the only one that felt suddenly gained a son but being himself, he'll never admit it, that just his way so with one final goodbye, he saw Zack as he boarded the ship.

As Ghira was about to head towards home, he saw some kids playing but then one of the kids said something he only heard from Zack.

"Are you sure?" A faunus boy asked his companion.

"My friend told me to call the chieftain, old chief as she said that is was only proper to respect the old man chief but they also said to keep quiet about it until the big brother staying over there left which is kinda weird, but whatever, so you better call the chieftain, old chief alright." The other faunus boy said loudly as his companion nodded to him.

As Ghira heard everything, he only thought of one culprit but suddenly his scroll rang, it was the main suspect he had in mind.

He mindlessly picked it up and he heard him say,

"Hey old chief, as for compensation for telling about the Grand Alphas (GA), here is a heads up, … next time… you shouldn't have touched the chocolates… Alright bye,"

Before he could've replied, Zack hung up.

Ghira chuckled at this then turned to full-blown laughter but he suddenly stopped and inhaled a great deal of air then faced the direction Zack was on.

"ZACK!!! YOU BASTA--"

As for Zack at the moment,

"Ah!, what a nice day on the sea" Zack commented smiling while relaxing by his motorcycle.
