39 Quiet Day

Kat laid back, the white robe tossed to the side. She was back to her usual attire, exhausted from the days events.

"Welcome back, Lady Dyna. We weren't expecting that set of events."

Kat looked over, Miracle appearing in. a glass orb.

"Well, if I had the ability to save the others, it'd have been done. I just got lucky that Mina held onto her control. She easily could have been like the others."

"Easily? Her love for you is what kept that from being so. She tried her best because she wished for you to be at her side."

Kat smiled to herself, closing her eyes and reminiscing.

"She loves an idiot, but I'll never give her up. Not for anything. *sigh* just wish she wasn't a sword."

She gave Miracle the stink eye.

"That one... is on me. Tossing her into my workshop wasn't the brightest of decisions."

"You think?! Had I known you'd do something like that, I'd have just gotten her a top class monster or even a hero to hold her soul! Yet you wanted to prove yourself... ugh. You're lucky she's tough and persistent. Only reason she lived so long in her last life. If only Ryder-"

"He died. Flirted with the wrong girl, met her boyfriend. Last I heard of that world, he was turned into fish food."

Kat's eyes bugged.

"Who the hell did he meet? Those kinds of people are pretty rare from that city, though not unheard of."

-

Mina opened her eyes, slowly sitting up. She looked around, completely in shadow. The sound of dull footsteps approached her, emitting light. Her hair was shadowy black, her eyes crimson.

"You know who I am, right? Hehehe."

Mina smiled, pulling her silver hair back over her shoulder.

"The hidden side of me, of course. Hysteria, or my unbound desires. I'm thankful that you took shape, although you're dangerous hiding inside of me now."

Hysteria knelt down, her crazed smile fading.

"We hold the same emotion, memory and desire. Don't be stupid. You already know what I'm dangerous to."

Her smile reappeared.

"Our enemies. Hehe."

Mina nodded, hugging her knees.

"Accepting my own darkness... it's pretty easy when I can just talk to you like this."

"I'm not your darkness. Just a deeper part of you. Now quit talking to yourself, try to visit Kat! We both want to see her!"

Mina approached Hysteria, taking her hand as she shimmered and overlaid into her body.

[Hysteria Mode has been brought into full control.]

-

"Kat?"

"Hmm? It's been only a few hours. You're sleeping?"

Mina crawled up beside Kat and curled up in her arms.

"Seeing you just felt important. Expected you to be keeping tabs on me at all times."

Kat kissed Mina's forehead, her eyes skimming over an orb.

"Making sure I know exactly what Vex messed up. Also, kinda shocked that my Light Guardian found a Dark Guardian while I was busy."

Mina looked up.

"You still look so pretty when you get focused."

With a soft sigh and a smile, Kat stared down at Mina.

"You having your memories back lifts such a heavy burden on my heart!"

"I'd believe it... I mean, I didn't even recognize your voice at first. I don't even want to imagine that pain. Forgetting you... just made me feel empty."

"No more. Let's not talk about that. Now, these friends you've gotten. They may become serious rivals."

"Huh?"

"You'll see. I'm not against sharing, but you've gotta give me plenty of attention."

Mina moved higher, pushing Kat onto her back.

"They're friends that are important."

Her eyes began to turn crimson.

"But they'll never reach you."

Kat was shocked, her fingers running through the silver hair turning black.

"I told you-"

"Hysteria isn't so dangerous in my mind, since it's a part of me."

Mina laid her face directly beneath Kat's. Her soft smile had no hint of Hysteria's dread, just the warmth and purity of Mina.

"I'll just have to accept you then, since you're so damn cute it's not fair!"

Kat glared at Mina, unable to kiss her.

"Hehe."

Sliding up slightly, Mina gave her a small kiss before she sat up and straddled Kat.

"So what happened to me? I mean, he called it an experiment. Also, you reversed it. Couldn't you do the same to the others?"

Kat shook her head, sitting up and leaning her forehead against Mina's.

"Vex was a runaway God from another world. He was shunned and left, coming here and altering the world. He watched other worlds trying to find someone he found interest in, which became me. I created the Guardian's to control magic around the world, which he exploited. He shattered their cores, then used his blade to corrupt them. They fought. They hurt him, but they were sealed off from me. My own abilities are weakened without their support, but it was my own weakness beyond that which kept me from saving them. Hesitation and seclusion kept me from going to them, allowing them to suffer. Sin has erupted from them since, which brings forth the Seven Deadly Sins. Obviously the humans have received Wrath. It fits fire."

Mina tilted her head.

"So, we still have the other six to figure out? And I'm number seven?"

"Probably Greed. Definitely not Lust, nor Gluttony and Sloth. Envy doesn't really match, but it could even be Pride."

Mina nodded, crossing her arms behind Kat's back.

"This is so weird. These bodies are so different, but this feels the same as that night."

Kat nodded slowly, her breathing catching.

"You should know, I've never been touched the way you've done to me. You're my first kiss, too. Ryder never got close, even when reality was rewritten."

Kat nodded again, leaning her head against Mina's shoulder.

"I'm just happy I can even see you again."

Mina began to stroke Kat's back, humming softly until the Goddess drifted off and laid out. Mina had a tiny smile, her black hair draping everything as she leaned in and kissed Kat once more before she began to fade.

"I'm definitely Greed... since you're mine, but I'll protect you and help this world retrieve it's beauty."
