22 Life ain't fair

'' So Goddess Abyzou, why is this happening? '' Arthur had a questioning look as he stared at the red eyes, opposite to him.

'' What do you mean?'' The Goddess curiously retorted her head was tilting sideways.

Arthur was dumbfounded at this. '' So I am meeting a goddess?''

The goddess nodded.

'' For nothing?''

'' Mhm...'' She nodded as if it was something normal. Then she thought deeply and seriously said. '' Well technically because of the compatibility of your soul with me, I'll be staying with you. So that isn't anything. But well I was bored... Heard someone crying, got interested, and asked Shadow to make contact.'' She said her voice really stayed mostly the same as she spoke and this was rather strange for Arthur, Meanwhile, the little silhouette that stood behind the goddess, nodded.

'' ... Don't spirits have their world? Just go and take a walk there if you are bored?'' Arthur was somewhat embarrassed cause she probably heard him. But how?

'' No, rules don't allow me to casually walk around the many dimensions of the spirit galaxy. Hmm... I am not allowed into other worlds. Here is completely different, the world is still shaping its energy core, and you humans from here are like blank sheets of paper, and so long you are compatible with the spirit, we will be able to come through. '' The goddess patiently explained.

'' So basically we have no hand in the spirit that may come? '' Arthur had a theory but he wanted to hear it from the goddess since she was way more knowledgeable about the matter.

The goddess looked at him and her face soon formed a small smile. A smile ready to marvel at men and women alike was the extent of her beauty. '' It is not like you don't have a hand in such a thing. It is very dependent on your thoughts, obsessions, and personality actually everything influences this. Although the cards retain a little speck of a spirit within, and over time so long the spirit wishes it will slowly form itself within the card accumulating energy so it can serve as a gate. But people seem quite oblivious of this, taking and disposing of cards like it's nothing, in the end, they will end up moving toward the rebirth to look for their next potential owner. I am quite impressed with you its the first time I have seen Sheou appear and be ready to serve someone. After what had happened...'' As she was speaking soon the sound of thunder came, and a pillar of light soon descended and a bit of dragon silhouette could be seen from it, a very familiar one at that, with her slender members and wings.

The dragon opened her grey eyes and those Draconic eyes stared at the goddess for a while before a sigh was heard from it.

'' Oh... Sheou it has been a while. I was about to get to the good part, and speak about her.'' The goddess didn't even flinch at the sight of Sheou, as if already expecting her arrival.

'' *Sigh* Don't speak about it. It is in the past. It is unrelated to Master.'' Sheou soothing and warm voice resounded.

'' UMU, you are right. Well, your new master is quite interesting so I guess ill be tagging along.'' The goddess said in a final tone her eyes squinted in happiness.

''Do as you like but make sure not to sully master reputation.'' Sheou retorted.

'' Bahh! I am the Goddess of the Underworld. I haven't lost till now besides I'm qualified to improve his reputation... Although it seems the compatibility with the deck isn't there but well it'll make due. Maybe the rest will show up.'' The goddess said very proudly what she said.

'Eh? I don't have a say in this?' Arthur stared at both the Dragon who was shaking her head resigned to fate.

'' Master it is time to go.'' Sheou turned toward little Arthur who just nodded in response, he felt tired by the second.

'' Well, then it is a goodbye for now, oh yeah since ill be staying with you for a while take this...'' The goddess extended a finger in the direction of Arthur and a dusk black orb floated toward the young man soon to be absorbed upon contact with him. '' As the goddess of the underworld it might be painful for the next couple of hours, but well you'll handle it. Make sure not to die.''

With those last words, Arthur soon found himself back in his original spot.

'' You really? '' Sheou looked dumbfounded at her friend. '' Why would you give him those dumbasses?''

''Would you believe me if I said they chose this?'' She said in response as she gave the dragon a side eye.

Sheou shook her head. '' Whatever this is one of your pranks. You should join the rest of the maids in his mindscape, this kid is on a different level when it comes to spirit energy, 90% of his energy is being used to building his mindscape, and even while doing that my spirit form will soon be complete for use. This kid is more of a monster than I expected.''

The goddess nodded seriously. '' I understand you. After all, it was the amulet of Yuki that brought me to him. Now I just have to find everyone. The volatility of this world and the ever so growing energy in the core of the world has already picked the interest of the many factions. Some Factions of the underworld have already begun to move. It has nothing to do with me though, I'm quite curious about this beautiful place.''

Like that both of them resumed their conversation as if they had not just been speaking of possible world destroying creatures.

His cozy bed. But saying that the next couple of hours were to his liking was an overstatement. What tired? what sleep? He silently suffered for 7 hours, the pain wasn't unbearable but it still didn't allow him to sleep through the night.

He was mentally exhausted. But in truth above everything, he felt expectant by the so called gift from the goddess.
