24 The Dwarf and Elf

Yue looked into the ring to see that it had many supplies such as food, bedding, and things for first aid such as medicines and bandages. "Oh? Handsome man was very nice. About three to four months worth of food for three people. This should last me a long time. But to think he would give me such an expensive item such as a space ring. Even with all these things in here, there is still a lot of space. The food I will save for now as emergency rations, and I can even stock up on monster meat as well. As for the other things. The blankets and pillow are nice, but the tent and sleeping bag are out unless I find a safe place to sleep. The first aide stuff is really handy."

Yue bowed her head to the spot where Kai was standing before and said: "Although you will not hear me say this I will still say it. Thank you, handsome man, for the items."

"Now to continue my journey. When I sleep, later I hope handsome man will enter my dreams hehe..." Yue was still a young girl, so seeing such a handsome man would definitely cause her little heart to race and fangirl over him.

The starry night sky and the large moon shined down overhead, illuminating the land to allow Yue to see in front of her. She was having a hard time finding a place to sleep. She was also starting to get really tired. By the height of the moon in the sky, she could tell it was almost midnight. She looked around and finally spotted a tall rock protruding out of the tall grass. "Looks like a better place than any."

As Yue made her way through the tall grass, her nose picked up the scent of something cooking. The grass of the area she was in was just as tall as her, so she was not able to get a good view of what was in front of her without jumping up to check her direction. As she got closer to the rock, she spotted smoke coming up from underneath. "Ahh, just my luck!"

Frowning, Yue still decided to check it out just in case she could make camp on top of the rock or something. When she stepped out of the tall grass into a small opening around the rock, she spotted a short, stout man and a young woman with pointy ears. "Hmm? A dwarf and an elf? That is a rare combination."

"That's rude little lady!" The dwarf yelled from the tone of his voice he seemed to be up in age.

Yue rubbed her nose in embarrassment. Even her cheeks turned slightly red. "Ahh, Sorry. I spoke my thoughts out loud."

"It's fine, you are right. Normally we elves and dwarves do not see eye to eye. But I must ask, what is a young girl like you doing out this far? There are no cities and towns near this place." The young elf woman asked.

"Ahh well, a long story. Anyway, I guess that you two must be out here to look into something?" Yue asked as she calmly walked over to the two. They seemed friendly enough and did not make her sense anything was off.

"That we are. To tell the truth, we have been seeing more monsters coming out of the monster domain as of late. The two of us were tasked to go scout it out." The dwarf answered. Since the details of what they were doing were not a secret, he had no issues explaining it to Yue.

"I just so happened to be headed there myself," Yue said as she walked around the tall rock inspecting it. She then turned to the two and asked: "Mind, if I make camp up top?"

The elf and dwarf looked at Yue, a bit confused. "We don't mind, but lass, why are you heading to the monster domain?"

"To live..." Yue replied in a carefree manner as she tapped her foot off the ground and effortlessly climbed on top of the rock.

"What!? Are you insane!? Why would you want to live there!? Anyone who goes in never returns!" The young elf woman yelled out. She could not bear seeing a young girl of any race running off to their own deaths.

"I have no home, and no kingdom will take me. Especially this kingdom Seris. I have been banished after all." Yue replied with a yawn. She then pulled out a pillow and blanket from her ring and laid it out on the top of the rock before laying down. She then waved her hand, creating a barrier around her to ward off any surprise attacks.

"Umm lass, why would a young girl like you get banished from a kingdom?" The dwarf man asked.

"Cause I killed a noble and walked out of my trial before they could sentence me to death. The old judge yelled something about banishment on my way out, so here I am." Yue's half-asleep words put both the young elf women and dwarf on guard. They both reached for their weapons. Only to hear a shout from on top of the rock. "Sit!"

*Bam!*

Both the dwarf and young elf woman were forced to sit down with a hard crash to the ground. Yue removed her barrier and scooted to the edge of the cliff, poking her head over the edge, and looked down at the two. "I would prefer it if you did not get hostile. I have no intentions of harming either of you. I just want to sleep, and this is the only place not surrounded by grass that is as tall as me. So if you will excuse me, I will be going to sleep now."

After finishing what she had to say, Yue moved back to where she was before and put her barrier back up. The old dwarf and young elf woman found that they could move again and stared at each other in disbelief. They never thought a young wolf girl such as Yue would be so powerful.
