Sea Of Monsters Part 2

"Leena, stay here with Yustel. I will go scout around." Yue wanted to take a look and see if she could find the source of the reason why these monsters were suddenly roaming out into the plains.

Yue left Leena without waiting for a reply and made her way to the outer rim of the sea of monsters. There were at least tens of thousands of them all grouped up in large herds. Since she knew there would be no way for her to figure things out by checking the monsters, she headed for the forest edge of the monster domain.

Sadly it was not like she was a few seconds away. Because of the sheer mass of monsters and how she had to move around the entire group, it was going to take her at least a day to arrive at the forest's edge. As she moved, she kept a good eye out over the plains. She wanted to see if she could spot anything out of the ordinary.

The only thing she could spot was that these monsters seemed very calm. Not a single one was trying to attack the other even when their groups got close together. "Odd… If I recall, some of these monsters are mortal enemies, but right now, they are acting as if they were close neighbors."

Yue continued on until she finally reached the forest edge. As she entered, the light of day quickly became dim as the trees overhead blocked most of the sun. The underbrush was not too bad after having been recently trampled by the monsters. The further Yue moved into the forest, the eerier it got. There was no sound. No birds, no cries of monsters. There was just dead silence.

Yue searched for clues as to what may be the cause, but so far, she found nothing. "It's getting late..." Yue could see the last streams of sunlight slowly disappearing. This meant night was settling in. She decided to find a place to sleep, but as she looked around, a light within the forest caught her eye. Since she found something, she decided to forgo sleep and check it out.

While Yue was on her way to investigate the strange light, Leena and Yustel were sitting by the camp they had made with the orcs feeling very worried. "It's been hours, and she still hasn't returned."

"Leena, you should relax. I do not think a girl who can kill a noble and walk out of her own trial will die easily. She said she was going to investigate. It may take a few days. So relax." Yustel tried to calm Leena down in his own dwarf way.

"Yes, Miss Leena, you should trust Miss Yue. She is someone who is not easily killed. Take it from an old orc with lots of experience. I am over five hundred years old, after all." Borkul also tried to help out. He could feel an intense pressure when standing in front of Yue. This was why he has been keeping a strong control over his people. He did not want Yue's friends to be harmed in any way. He felt that if something did happen, his tribe would disappear by her hands.

"I… Fine, I will give her three days max. If she is not back by then, I will go look for her myself!" Leena had really taken a liking to Yue and felt she was an amazing friend.

"I will go with you as well." Yustel also would begin to feel worried if Yue was not back within a few days time.

"Humph! I would have dragged you with me even if you didn't want to go." Leena snorted.

While the others were worrying, Yue had come across something strange. It was furry and could fit in the palm of her hand. It looked like a teddy bear, just like a bear monster only pint size. "Lass staring at me won't win me over." And it also spoke…

"Umm… What are you?" Yue asked. She felt no malice any kind of sense of danger from the small little bear, so she walked right over to it and picked it up.

"Hey! What are you doing!? Put me down! Do you not know how to treat a gentleman!?" The teddy bear flailed about and yelled, but Yue still ignored it as she checked it all over.

"Very strange." After checking it out, and placed it on the top of her hand and looked at it. "Can You tell me what happened to the monsters here?"

"You mean those beasts? Those things were annoying, so I told them all to shut up and behave. They should be out eating grass by now. Look how peaceful it is." The teddy bear said proudly as it stood up in Yue's hand and crossed its arms across its chest. It even had a smug look on its face as if asking to be praised.

Yue sighed. So it was this thing. "Well, I need you to tell them to come back. Some of them are leaving your range of control and are venturing into the villages and towns attacking people."

"If I tell them to come back, it will be loud again! I do not want to listen to that…. Hey, what are you doing with that fireball? Wait, we can talk this out!" The teddy bear looked at Yue with fear. She was smiling, a smile that was not actually a smile, while moving a ball of fire towards its small body.

"What is there to talk about? Just do as I say..." Yue asked as she brought the flames closer to the teddy bear.

"Alright, fine! You win! Just don't burn me!" The teddy bear had no choice but to give in to this girl, she was too scary!

"Mmm… Good while we are at it you will form a contract with me. I plan to move to this area so having someone who can keep monsters away will be good. I promise not to treat you badly as long as you behave."
