Chapter 4: Skill and Duel

After a few minutes of regretting life. I finally had the strength to click the skill.

[Skill: Protagonist]

[You are the protagonist of the new world of duel monsters! Problems that a kid like you shouldnt deal with will come your way, with a deck that evolves with you.

Don't believe in the power of cards and friendship? Well, you gotta believe now. You have plot armor thicker than an elephant's hide. Find romance, you're too dense to notice. And have a duel spirit partner. Welcome to your new protagonist life!

Effects are:

- Plot Armor. Just Plot Armor. It will start at the age of 16.

- The ability to see Duel Spirits.

- Deck that evolves with you. You can get cards in your deck or extra deck in moments where you are in danger. It will only work with the first deck that you have acquired. (Selected: Ursarctic Drytron). Will only start at the age of 16

- The ultimate bullsh-. I mean believe in the heart of the card, and they will guide you.

- Protection against curses and dark magic.

Note: As long as the main monsters are in the deck you can change some cards and the deck will still evolve]

I cried blood when I looked at the description.

After a few minutes of sulking. I decided to forget about it. I got up and wiped away the tears.

"I'll definitely live the way I want to live" That day I made the decision for myself. "Even if you're a dark lord I'll beat you myself. For a peaceful life" I said with determination.

{That's the spirit Eric} Alexa said happily.

"Right!" I replied. "Welp. It's nice knowing that the plot won't start until I'm 16, I can get ready in that time." Thinking of ways to get out of this situation.

What? Even if I accepted it, I still wanted to deny it as much as I could.

"Duel Spirits exist?!" I stated excitedly. I wanted to talk to my cards since I watched yugioh when I was a kid.

"Deck that evolves! Kinda like Yumas' Chaos numbers?" I ask.

{Yes host, A great force is supporting you through your adventure and hopes to make it more entertaining} Alexa replies.

'Huh' I said, looking at the readers. 'There are people reading this?'

"Anyway, it only works on my deck, I can even change some cards that aren't the main core cards. Well there's not much support for my deck so I can't wait to see my deck's evolution" I look fondly at my deck. I just couldn't explain why I liked it so much. As I heard a quiet hum coming from my deck.

"Wha-" I started. I looked at the deck with disbelief. So there are Duel Spirits in there? That's the only explanation I could come to, because the other ones are just me being crazy.

"Alexa" I called out

{Yes Eric? Is there something you need to ask?} She asked.

"Do I already have Duel Spirits in my deck?" I ask, anticipating the answer.

{Yes Eric.} She answers me as I jump in joy. {But as of now, they are only asleep}

"Why? How can I wake them up?" I just want to talk to my spirits right now.

{You are too young} She states as I listen intently . {At age 6, you will be able to see them, but you have to gain their trust. You have a deck full of spirits.}

"Really?" I asked her

{Yes host.} She replied

"Well, I hope they like me" I ask hoping that they'll be happy being with me. As I continue reading the last effect. "Protection against curses and dark magic?" I wondered. "Well. Spirits do exist, so why not magic? Can I use magic?"

{Host, can use magic in the future. Host even showed some talent from it.} Alexa explains to me.

"Huh… Neat" I muttered thinking about using magic.

[Imagination]

Eric: Woo… I just finished baking this apple pie

As he wipes off the sweat from his head, due to working hard

Eric: Who would have thought that we need that many ingredients for a pie. Now all I need to do is clean up

He sees his whole kitchen covered with flour, eggs and a lot of smashed apples.

Eric: Aww man… I don't want to clean all of this up. I want to enjoy this apple pie.

He says sadly.

He then got an idea as he slowly smiles

Eric: Magic. Pu Naelc

As the kitchen turns perfectly clean

He even saw his own reflection.

Eric: Nice

"I'm definitely learning magic" I say dreamly.

{Host, please move faster.} Alexa says in a stern voice.

"Alright, alright" I say to Alexa. "Well, even though I hate to be the center of trouble. These are some good effects" looking at the skill once more sighing again.

"I think I am done" I say as the cards show up once again. This time in a row, I can easily read them.

"Alexa, Please close the screen" I ask Alexa nicely. As the screen begins to disappear. I look around more. I see the 'DECK' corner. 'I'll improve my deck later, my deck is enough for now.' I look at the 'SOLO' corner. 'I'll play the solo later. For now I just want to test my deck with people' I think to myself

"Moving on. I want to test my deck out" I tell Alexa. As I start moving towards the corner

{Ok then Eric} as she follows me, until we are in front of the 'DUEL' corner. {Please enter and an explanation can be given}

I just nodded and went in. I saw a hotel lobby with a big TV screen inside featuring duels from Master Duel . A person was on the counter, he waved at me, while I waved back confused because another person was in here. I walk up to him to ask a question, but before I can say anything he talks

[Welcome Player] the attendant starts.

[This is a duel arena that you can participate in. Win Rewards from a tournament with NPC's that improves and gets better and better in dueling or just a regular Duel with an NPC. The ranks get progressively higher, the more you win! Get better rewards the higher the rank of course. Fight Legendary Duelists with their own decks as you get to higher ranks. Complete Missions to get more gems and points. What are you waiting for? Let's go Duel!] He all says with a big smile.

"So this replaced online dueling with NPC that gets stronger and stronger." I say to myself. "Where is Alexa?" I looked around not seeing Alexa.

{I am here Eric} Alexa says in my mind.

"WHY DO-" I started yelling, but caught myself as I breathed in and out trying to calm down. "Alexa. My dear Alexa. Why are you in my mind now?" I ask her.

{Well Eric. I can't just stand there while you duel so I am once again in your mind} Alexa states like it was very obvious, and it was.

"Fine." I replied to her. I look back at the attendant. "I'm ready to duel." I tell him.

[All right! Please choose the type of duel you want] He says as a blue panel goes up to me.

[Please choose:

• Ranked Duel: A master duel style of dueling. The most traditional way to play duel monsters

• Speed Duels: A format of dueling that only utilizes an extra monster zone, 3 monster zones, and 3 Spell and trap zones.

• Tournament Duels: (Locked until Player has reached Platinum Rank 1 in Ranked Duel)

[Note: The more duels you win, the higher you rank up. The highest you rank up, the stronger your opponent is. There are 5 Ranks with different tiers:

-Rookie (2 Tiers)

"Huh… There are other options?" I said as I read the options. "I'm going with the master duel option first" I tapped on the Ranked Duel option.

He handed me a duel disk, it had a dark blue body with light blue accents. I recognized it, it was Kaiba's duel disk in DSoD. It was amazing to look at. He also gave me a green ticket card with a rabbit design on the front. Below the rabbit was the roman numeral II.

I took off to go to the elevator, which was at the wall beside the counter. There was a card slot beside it. I assumed it was where I'd put the card in.

I put the card in the slot and it just automatically slides in. The elevator made a dinging sound and opened up. It was just the standard elevator, but with none of the buttons on the side of the door. I went in and the elevator closed.

A Match has been Found]

A mechanical voice sounded through the elevator and it opened up into a dark room.

"Welp" I begin to say. "Here goes nothing." As I step into the dark room and the elevator door closes, leaving me in this dark room.

All of a sudden the room lit up in many brilliant lights. I was in a field in a forest. It was the same room as the tutorial, but it was still amazing in my eyes. I could see a person with black hair and a simple face, he wore a white t-shirt inside a grayish jacket nothing stood out from him. I oddly remember him. It was David from Duel Links.

"Are you challenging me to a duel?" David says, I remember this voiceline in th game. "I hope you know that my deck is strong!" He declared.

"Well, let's have a fun duel then." I happily replied. He just nods and activates his duel disk, and I put on the duel disk with a little bit of difficulty but eventually put it on. I put in my physical deck and it automatically turns on. It had the mechanics of Yugis' deck instead of the virtual blade that Kaiba had. It looked very awesome, I was so excited.

"Let's go." He yells. As a giant coin soared through the sky landing on the field. It was revealed to be heads. "I'll go first" I say and he nods to me.

""DUEL"" We both shout out at the same time. As we both draw 5 cards.

Eric: 4,000; Hand: 5 Cards

David: 4000; Hand: 5 Cards

Ursarctic Departure, Harpie's Feather Duster, Ursacrtic Megapolar, Drytron Meteonis Quadrantids, and Drytron Alpha Thuban.

I saw all of them let out a glow. 'So 'Game Interface' does work"

{Of course it does Eric} Alexa says proudly

"I'll go first." I state. 'I'll use Ursarctics now and maybe drytrons later.' I think to myself, while thinking of strategies. "First I use the spell card 'Ursarctic Departure' this lets me discard one card and then add 2 Ursarctic monsters from my deck to my hand." I declare making my move. I discarded 'Drytron Meteonis Quadrantids' and got 2 monsters from my deck. "Now I get to add 2 Ursarctics from my deck. I choose 'Ursarctic Mikbilis' and Ursarctic 'Megatanus'." I revealed the 2 Ursarctics that I acquired and my deck automatically got shuffled.

{Ursarctic Departure; Spell Card: Discard 1 card; add 2 "Ursarctic" monsters from your Deck to your hand. If you would Tribute a monster(s) to activate an "Ursarctic" monster's effect, except the turn this card was sent to the GY, you can banish this card from your GY instead. You can only use each effect of "Ursarctic Departure" once per turn.}

"Now I activate 'Ursarctic Mikibilis''s effect, with it I can discard one level 7 or higher monster from my hand, I discard 'Ursarctic Megapolar'." I stated out my move.

"What will that do?" David asks me, and I just smile.

"Now I can summon him on my field. I Special Summon 'Ursarctic Mikibilis' in face-up defense position" I say his effect. As an iron brown bear with a diamond like core in his chest appeared, he had a tail on his back and a pair of arms that had a bright light that surrounds it.

{Lv 7: Ursarctic Mikibilis; Atk: 700; Def: 1400}

"Now I can activate his effect. I can special summon one Ursarctic from my hand to the field and I choose the tuner monster 'Ursactic Megatanus'. Appear!" As a giant black and gold mecha with a golden bow appears. He had a tail, as well as a cylinder with a spike on both his shoulders. With the constellation on the side of his leg.

{Lv 8: Ursarctic Megatanus; Atk: 2400; Def: 700; Tuner}

"Another one?!" David cried out in surprise.

"Yeah" I say. "But I'm not done yet. I tune my tuner monster 'Ursactic Megatanus' with my 'Ursarctic Mikibilis'." I say as I watch my 'Ursactic Megatanus' turn into 8 bright orbs around 'Ursarctic Mikibilis'.

"You're doing a synchro summon with 2 high level monsters?" He asked confused

"I can synchro summon this card with these 2 monsters, with the effect of sending 2 monsters with the difference of 1 to the graveyard" I said to him.

"Oh Stars of the North. Celestial Bear! Be the guiding Light!" I chanted something that came into my mind. I saw my 'Ursarctic Mikibilis' turn into 7 orbs of light. "SYNCHRO SUMMON! Come forth- 'Ursarctic Polari'!" I yelled out as both monster orbs came together seemingly disappearing only leaving one left. The orb exploded in brilliant light. Coming out of that light was a cute single white mechanical bear with a diamond like core on his chest. It had a crystal like appearance that can put you in a trance for a long time. (I really don't know how to come up with these)

{Lv 1: Ursarctic Polari; Atk: 700; Def: 1000}

"That's all. Well I'm not impressed" David tells me.

"Now I use Polari's Effect" I say to David. "If this card was special summoned, I can use one 'Ursarctic Big Dipper' directly from my deck" I said as I drew 'Ursarctic Big Dipper' and actuated it in my field. The field around us changed to a Big Ship in space. It looked majestic, just by standing there.

{Ursarctic Big Dipper; Field Spell Card: Once per turn, if your "Ursarctic" monster would Tribute a monster to activate an effect, you can banish 1 Level 7 or higher "Ursarctic" monster from your GY instead. Each time a monster(s) is Special Summoned, place 1 counter on this card. Once per turn, if a monster(s) is Special Summoned: You can remove all counters from this card (min. 7), then target 1 monster your opponent controls; take control of it. You can only activate this effect while a "Ursarctic" Synchro Monster is on the field.}

I looked at my 'Ursarctic Polari' floating around happily. When he noticed me staring at him , he winked and waved at me, while I waved back. I was in a trance-like state. I was just so happy actually seeing my monsters in play, until I was woken up

"Hey!" David yells at me. "You ok man?" he asks me.

"A-ah Yeah, just lost in thought" I replied to David. "Now I use Polari's another effect, by tributing one Ursarctic monster from my hand. I can special summon another from my graveyard" I tell him. "Now I chain with 'Ursarctic Big Dipper', with its effect. When my Ursarctic monster would need to tribute, I can just banish one level 7 or higher Ursarctic monster from my graveyard instead!" As I see the master Duel chain animation appear before my eyes. "Now I banish my 'Ursarctic Megapolar' to summon 'Ursarctic Megatanus' once again." As 'Ursarctic Megatanus' shows up again. "For each special summoned monster, my 'Ursarctic Big Dipper' gains one spell counter." As one of the big fans light up with a blue light.

"And I ain't done yet! I tune my tuner monster 'Ursactic Megatanus' with my 'Ursarctic Polari'." I shout once again. As 'Ursactic Megatanus' turn into 8 bright orbs of light around 'Ursarctic Polari'. "I can synchro summon this card by discarding 2 card with the difference of the level 7 to the Graveyard" I say to David.

"Warrior of the northern stars, defender of the northern sky. Celestial Bear! Be the new guiding light!" I chanted. I saw my 'Ursarctic Polari' turns into an orb of light. "SYNCHRO SUMMON! Come forth- 'Ursarctic Septentrion'!" I shouted out as both monster orbs come together and the leaving 7 orbs, that exploded in brilliant light. A white and blue giant bear mecha appears. He had a sword that was shaped like the constellation Big Dipper. He had a giant bear head, along with a bear claw on his arm and a glowing rainbow design that made it look more awesome. This was the main boss monster of the Ursarctics- Ursarctic Serpentrion.

{Lv 7: Ursarctic Septentrion; Atk: 3000; Def: 700}

I was again in a trance, I felt a connection to this monster. This time I shook my head and continued my turn. "When I special summon a monster I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper! With that, I end my turn" I said as another big fan lights up

Eric: 8000; Hand: 2 Cards {Harpie's Feather Duster, Drytron Alpha Thuban: Field: 2 {Ursarctic Septentrion, Ursarctic Big Dipper}

David: 8000; Hand: 5

"It's my turn! Draw" David says as he draws a card. "First I activate the spell card 'Toon Bookmark'!" He says to me.

{Toon Bookmark; Spell Card: Add 1 "Toon World", or 1 card that specifically lists the card "Toon World" in its text, from your Deck to your hand, except "Toon Bookmark". If a "Toon World(s)" you control would be destroyed by card effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead. You can only activate 1 "Toon Bookmark" per turn.}

"Toon?!" I yelled out.

"Yeah. With this card I can add one 'Toon World' or one card that specifically list the card 'Toon World'. I choose to add 'Toon Kingdom!'" David declares and gets one card from his deck. "Now, I activate 'Toon Kingdom'" As a book with a giant castle on a book appears on his side.

{Toon Kingdom; Field Spell Card: When this card is activated: Banish 3 cards from the top of your Deck, face-down. This card's name becomes "Toon World" while in the Field Zone. Your opponent cannot target Toon monsters you control with card effects. If a Toon monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish 1 card from the top of your Deck, face-down, for each of those monster(s) instead.}

I read effect from my screen. 'If I don't get rid of that card, it will be a problem.' I think to myself. 'I won't be able to target his monster with Big Dipper'

"I set one monster face down and set one card in spell and trap zone!" He tells me as he puts his cards in his duel disk. "I end my turn"

Eric: 8000; Hand: 2 Cards {Harpie's Feather Duster, Drytron Alpha Thuban; Field: 2 {Ursarctic Septentrion, Ursarctic Big Dipper}

David: 8000; Hand: 3 Cards; Field: 3 {Toon Kingdom, 1 Face-down monster, 1 set card}

'I can destroy his set cards' I think to myself. "My turn. Draw!" I say while drawing 'Drytron Zeta Aldibah'. 'Nice!' I think to myself.

"First I activate the spell card 'Harpie's Feather Duster' to destroy all your spell and traps cards." As a giant tornado went to destroy his cards.

{Harpie's Feather Duster; Spell Card: Destroy all Spells and Traps your opponent controls.}

"Not so fast!" David replied to me. "I use 'Toon Bookmark's other effect! If a 'Toon World' is going to be destroyed, I can banish it to protect 'Toon World', and when 'Toon Kingdom' is on the field it is treated as 'Toon World'." He yells as his 'Toon Kingdom was protected by the tornado.

I just nod at him and continue on..

"Now I activate 'Drytron Alpha Thuban's effect. I can tribute one 'Drytron' or Ritual monster from my hand or field to special summon him. I tribute 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah'!" I tell David as I get 'Drytron Alpha Thuban' from my hand and tribute 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah'. Stars appeared again and glowed brightly. 'Drytron Alpha Thuban' appeared. He was a blue mechanical dragon, he had mechanical wings that all connected through his back. He had a sword for one arm, and a gun for another. He had a mechanical tail that had a bright yellow light near the tip.

"When I special summon a monster I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper!" I say as a third fan lit up

"Now I use 'Drytron Alpha Thuban's other effect. When he is summoned, I can get one Ritual monster to my hand. I add 'Drytron Meteonis Draconids'." I declare as I drew 'Drytron Meteonis Draconids'. "Now, I use 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah's effect. I can tribute one 'Drytron' or Ritual monster from my hand or field to special summon him. I tribute Drytron Meteonis Draconids' to summon him again." As 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah' appears. "Now I special summon 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah'" I say as I summon 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah'. There were some stars that appeared and they connected, it lit up brightly and 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah' appeared. He was a blue mechanical dragon with a purple accent. He had mechanical wings, and a shield on both of his arms that glowed bright pink. I was amazed by the appearance.

"When I special summon a monster I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper!" I say as a fourth fan lit up

"Now,I use 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah's other effect. I can draw one ritual spell from my deck" I drew 'Meteonis Drytron' and showed it to him.

"I'm not done. I overlay my level 1 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah' and level 1 'Drytron Alpha Thuban'" I said as 2 monster became lights of color and went up and to the sky. "With these 2 monsters I construct the Overlay Network" As a vortex appears swallowing both lights. "XYZ SUMMON" I yell out as the Vortex explodes in bright lights. "Come forth- Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir!" I yell out excitedly. Stars appeared and connected. What came out was a mechanical dragon armed with many different weapons.

"When I special summon a monster I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper!" I say as a fifth fan lit up

"Now I us-" I tried to use his effects but my duel disk showed error. 'What?!' I asked bewildered. I saw my 'Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir' became gray and had a huge cross. I tried thinking what went wrong but, remember 'Ursarctic Septentrion's effect. Monsters that were special summoned from the extra deck without level were negated. 'Damn it' I think of my mistake. 'I was too rash that I misplayed!' Scolding myself. 'For now I'll just attack.'. "Now I attack with your face down with 'Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir'" My monster readies his attack and my opponents' card flipped up revealing it to be 'Toon Gemini Elf'. As 2 elves in dresses appears on the field.

{Lv 4: Toon Gemini Elf; Atk: 1900; Def: 900; Toon}

Before the attack could hit, David activated an effect. "I use 'Toon Kingdom's effect!" He stated. "I can banish one card from my deck face-down to prevent my monster from getting destroyed!" he yells out as both elves go into the castle.

Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir tries to attack the castle, but the castle showed to be just fine.

"Now I banish one card on the top of my deck face-down" He told me, as he banished a card. 'Toon Gemini Elf was back on the field.

"Then I'll attack again with 'Ursarctic Septentrion'. GO! NIGHT-SKY SWORD." As 'Ursarctic Septentrion's sword lights up brightly and attacks 'Toon Gemini Elf' (Yeah. I got it from SAO. I thought it was good for this.)

"I use 'Toon Kingdom's effect!" David countered, and his 'Toon Gemini Elf went hiding in the castle once again. As Septentrion's sword hit the castle, but it wasn'tt destroyed. "Now I banish one card on the top of my deck face-down" As David banishes a card again. With that 'Toon Gemini Elf' leaves the castle and went back to the field

"I guess I'll end my turn" I tell him, still regretting doing that rash play.

Eric: 8000; Hand: 1 Card {Meteonis Drytron}; Field: 3 {Ursarctic Septentrion, Ursarctic Big Dipper, Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir}

David: 8000; Hand: 3 Cards; Field: 2 {Toon Kingdom, Toon Gemini Elf'}

"My turn! Draw" As he drew a card. "I switch my 'Toon Gemini Elf' to attack position and attack you directly" David declares and both elves start their attacks. "When 'Toon World' is on the field and you have no toon monster 'Toon Gemini Elf' can attack directly, Now girls GO!" As I was hit by the monster, I was hit and flew back a little, as I covered myself with my arm.

"Hnng..," I grunted.

Eric: 6100

"If 'Toon Gemini Elf' inflicts damage on you, I can discard one random card from your hand." As my 'Meteonis Drytron' goes to the graveyard. "Now I special summon 'Toon Mermaid' in defense position!" He tells me as he summons his 'Toon Mermaid'. A mermaid with green hair and a bow inside a clam appears on his field.

{Lv 4: Toon Mermaid; Atk: 1900; Def: 900; Toon}

"When a monster is special summoned, I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper!" I say as a sixth fan lit up. "When you special summon a monster I can activate 'Ursarctic Septentrion's effect. I can now add one 'Ursarctic' card from my deck! I choose another 'Ursarctic Departure'" I said as I drew another copy of 'Ursarctic Departure'

"That's enough for now. I end my turn" David says.

Eric: 6100; Hand: 1 Card {Ursarctic Departure}; Field: 3 {Ursarctic Septentrion, Ursarctic Big Dipper, Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir}

David: 8000; Hand: 3 Cards; Field: 3 {Toon Kingdom, Toon Gemini Elf, Toon Mermaid}

"It's my turn. Draw!" I say as I drew 'Drytron Nova', and a plan comes to mind. "I use the spell card 'Drytron Nova' to special summon one 'Drytron' from my deck to the field" I say as I drew 'Drytron Gamma Eltanin'. "I special summon 'Drytron Gamma Eltanin'." Stars again appeared and connected. A Teal colored Mechanical dragon appeared. It had 2 large boxes for wings and a thrusters beneath.

{Lv 1: Drytron Gamma Eltanin; Atk:2000; Def: 0}

{Drytron Nova; Spell Card: Special Summon 1 "Drytron" monster from your Deck, but destroy it during the End Phase. You can only activate 1 "Drytron Nova" per turn. You cannot Special Summon monsters, except monsters that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set, the turn you activate this card.}

"When I special summon a monster I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper!" I say as a seventh fan lit up

"Now, I use 'Meteonis Drytron's Effect from the graveyard" I begin to say. "With it I can decrease a 'Drytron's attack by 1000, and then I add 'Meteonis Drytron' back to my hand" A card gets out from the duel disk and add it to my hand. "Now I choose my 'Drytron Gamma Eltanin' to decrease it's attack."

"I use the spell card this lets me discard one card and then add 2 Ursarctic monsters from my deck to my hand." I declare making my move. I discarded 'Meteonis Drytron' and got 2 monsters from my deck. "Now I get to add 2 Ursarctics from my deck. I choose 'Ursarctic Mikbilis' and 'Ursarctic Mikpolar'." I revealed the 2 Ursarctics that I acquired and my deck automatically got shuffled.

"Now I attack your 'Toon Gemini Elf' with 'Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir'." As Mu Beta Fafnnir readied his attack.

"I use 'Toon Kingdom's effect!" David once again countered. His 'Toon Gemini Elf went into the castle once again.

"But you still take damage!" I retorted

The attack hit, creating some dust but 'Toon Gemini Elf' was still not destroyed.

"Now I banish one card on the top of my deck face-down" As David banishes a card. With that 'Toon Gemini Elf' leaves the castle and went back to the field

David: 7900

"But you still take damage!" I retorted

"Now I attack with Septentrion." I declared another attack. "GO! NIGHT-SKY SWORD!" As 'Ursarctic Septentrion's sword lights up brightly and attacks 'Toon Gemini Elf'. "I use 'Toon Kingdom's effect!" David countered. As Septentrion's sword hit 'Toon Gemini Elf', but she isn't destroyed. "Now I banish one card on the top of my deck face-down" As David banishes a card again. And then 'Toon Mermaid' leaves the castle and went back to the field

David: 6800

"I end my turn." I tell David. "At this moment. My 'Drytron Gamma Eltanin' will go to the graveyard, because of 'Drytron Nova's effect" As I say Gamma Eltanin floats up in a bright golden color and gets destroyed.

Eric: 6100; Hand: 1 Card {Ursarctic Mikibilis, Ursarctic Mikpolar}; Field: 3 {Ursarctic Septentrion, Ursarctic Big Dipper, Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir}

David: 6800; Hand: 3 Cards; Field: 3 {Toon Kingdom, Toon Gemini Elf, Toon Mermaid}

"Ok, It's my turn. Draw!" David draws a card. "I put 'Toon Mermaid' in attack position. And both 'Toon Gemini Elf' and 'Toon Mermaid' attack directly" As 'Toon Mermaid' attacked with her bow and I was hit by both 'Toon Gemini Elf'.

Eric: 2800

"AHHHH!" The damage was harder this time and I flew more.

{Eric! Are you okay?} Alexa says worriedly. {We can surrender right now, and you won't get hurt anymore} Alexa starts to persuade me to surrender.

"Are you alright man?" David started to get worried, if he hit Eric too hard.

"Yeah. I'm okay" Eric just stands up and smiles. "And Alexa, I won't surrender" As I looked into David's eyes with determination. "How can I call myself a duelist, if I give up now, besides…" I looked at my monsters with gentleness. "I already won."

"Hahaha" David laughs. "You have good determination, but don't expect me to give up easily."

I just smirk at his words. "Of course"

"Now, If 'Toon Gemini Elf' inflicts damage on you, I can discard one random card from your hand." My 'Ursarctic Mikibilis' gets sent to the graveyard. "And now I tribute my 'Toon Gemini Elf' and 'Toon Mermaid', to summon this-." David starts to summon his monster. "'Toon Black Luster Soldier'" A toon version of Black Luster Soldier appears on the field. "I activate its effect. I can banish one card on the side of your field, but I can't attack the turn this is activated. I banish your 'Ursarctic Septentrion'" David says as he points at my 'Ursarctic Septentrion'.

{Lv 8: Toon Black Luster Soldier; Atk: 3000; Def: 2500; Toon}

"I chain with my 'Ursarctic Mikpolar's effect!" A chain appears right before my eyes. "During any main phase, I can special summon him on the field by banishing a level 7 or higher monster on my hand, but with 'Ursarctic Big Dipper' I can banish one card from the graveyard instead. I discard 'Ursarctic Mikibilis' from my graveyard and special summon him now" As a white mechanical bear was summoned. He was on a giant hoverboard that was shaped as a giant bear paw.

{Lv 7: Ursarctic Mikpolar; Atk: 700; Def: 2000}

"When I special summon a monster I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper!" I say as an eight fan lit up" as another chain appears

I activate Mikpolars effect" I say as I looked at Mikpolar. "I can get 1 other 'Ursarctic' monster from my deck to my hand. I choose 'Ursarctic Megabilis'." As I drew the card that was my chosen monster. "Now I activate 'Ursarctic Megabilis' effect. During any main phase, I can special summon him on the field by banishing a level 7 or higher monster on my hand, but I use 'Ursarctic Departure from my graveyard." I say as I saw another chain and activated an effect. "With it I can just banish this card for the tribute of an 'Ursarctic' monster. Appear 'Ursarctic Megabilis'." A giant brown mecha with a bear face on the chest appears. He had sharp claws on both his hands.

{Lv 7: Ursarctic Megabilis; Atk: 2800; Def: 700}

"When I special summon a monster I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper!" I say as a ninth fan lit up. And one more chain appears

"Well, if you're done. You're 'Ursarctic Septentrion' gets banished and I end my turn" David yells out as my 'Ursarctic Septentrion' gets banished.

Eric: 2800; Hand: 0; Field: 4 {Ursarctic Megabilis, Ursarctic Mikpolar, Ursarctic Big Dipper, Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir}

David: 6800; Hand: 3 Cards; Field: 2 {Toon Kingdom, Toon Black Luster Soldier}

"My turn. Draw!" I yell as I drew my card. It was 'Drytron Meteonis Quadrantids'. Excitement filled me as I drew the card that I needed. "First I activate 'Drytron Zeta Aldibah'. I tribute my 'Drytron Meteonis Quadrantids' to summon him back to the field!" As 'Drytron Zeta Aldibah' appears once again.

"When I special summon a monster I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper!" I say as the tenth fan lit up. And a chain appears.

"Now I get to add a ritual spell from deck to the hand" As I added my last 'Meteonis Drytron' to my hand. "Now I activate the ritual spell 'Meteonis Drytron' to ritual summon any ritual monster from my hand or grave, and I tribute machine monsters whose attack is equal to or exceed the attack of the ritual monster instead of levels. I tribute both Mu Beta Fafnir's overlay points, I can use his overlay points as tributes when I ritual summon." I yell out.

As the 2 overlay units go into Mu Beta Fafnir's cannons and blasts off. A ritual circle appears on the ground and the 2 units go into the circle. "Oh Radiant meteors of the sky. Shine your light on to form a Celestial Dragon!" I chanted "RITUAL SUMMON" As the Ritual circle explodes in bright lights. "Come forth- Drytron Meteonis Quadrantids" Meteors just started raining down on the field as they target the previous ritual circle. Turning into the brightest light as they hit the ground. Appearing from the circle was a giant white and blue dragon. She had blue wing like things on her arms, and a golden glow surrounding her. "RAAAAAAAAA!!!" She yelled in the field so loudly. I was once again tranced because of the beauty of my monster.

{Lv 12: Drytron Meteonis Quadrantids: Atk: 4,000; Def: 4,000; Ritual}

"When I special summon a monster I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper!" I say as the eleventh fan lit up.

I don't know why, but I just knew that she was a girl. 'Was it the connection again?' I shake my head. 'I'll deal with that later.'

"I use her effect" I declare to my opponent who was dumbfounded by the appearance of my monster. "If I ritual summoned her with 2 or less levels of monsters. I can destroy all of your spells and traps, 'METEOR BURST'." I yell out as 'Drytron Meteonis Quadrantids' charged up and let out a scream, meteors started raining down the sky destroying his 'Toon Kingdom'.

"Now, I tune my tuner monster 'Ursactic Megatanus' with my 'Ursarctic Mikibilis'." I say as I watch my 'Ursactic Megabilis' turn into 8 bright orbs around 'Ursarctic Mikpolar'. "I can synchro summon this card with these 2 monsters, with the effect of sending 2 monsters with the difference of 1 to the graveyard" I said to him.

"Oh Stars of the North. Celestial Bear! Be the guiding Light!" I chanted again. I saw my 'Ursarctic Mikpolar' turn into 7 orbs of light. "SYNCHRO SUMMON! Come forth- 'Ursarctic Polari'!" I yelled out as both monster orbs came together seemingly disappearing only leaving one left. The orb exploded in brilliant light. Came out was 'Ursarctic Polari'.

"When I special summon a monster I can add one spell counter on my Ursarctic Big Dipper!" I say as the twelfth fan lit up.

"Now I use 'Ursarctic Big Dipper's effect. I target one of your monsters and I take possession of it." I declare the effect. "Northern Trance!" As 'Toon Black Luster Soldier' goes to the side of my field. David looks amazed at my plays.

"Let's end this shall we?" I told David. "Black Luster Soldier attack" I ordered his monster.

David: 3800

He was thrown back a little but still stood up and gave me a smile. "Finish it" I saw his mouth move.

I just nodded. "Drytron Meteonis Quadrantids, attack with METEOR BREAK" I saw her charged up and roar again. This time every meteor was aimed at her and light burst as they made contact. Finally Quadrantids let out a final roar and blasted a beam at David, finishing the game.

I looked at all my monsters and I nod at them, they seemingly nod back. I didn't have time to think about that and went over David. "Hey man!" I greeted him. "That was a nice duel" I smile at him.

"It was" David replied back to me. "Let's have a duel again in the future" He told me as he started disappearing. "Goodbye Eric" he managed to say as he disappeared completely.

{How was your first duel with your deck} Alexa asked me.

"It was amazing" It was the only reply I could ever think of.

"Nice" I said as I looked at my rewards. I saw the elevator open up again. Assuming that it was my exit I got in again.

{Congratulations Eric on winning and ranking up} Alexa says congratulating me.

"Thanks Alexa!" I replied happily to her.

{I-its no problem Eric} Alexa stuttered, while I just laughed and she eventually joined in.

The elevators opened and revealed the same attendant.

"Heh... You know me" I chuckle because it was just a couple of hours when we met. "This would be a great transition for a timeskip"

{What?} Alexa asks again confused.

"Nothing" I smile as sleep consumed me completely
