The old neighbourhood

Walking down the streets of her neighbourhood after these couple of years made her eyes get wet at just one glance. She heard small children that she had not seen when she left her house four years back were playing around as the sun went down slowly. This is infact a perfect timing to play around in the summers. she remembered how she and her friends used to do the same when they were still at school. Everything ended when they entered high school as if they never ever even met each other.

memories combed back throw her mind as she watched those small kids play some game she had never seen. they even stopped for once to look at her with questionable eyes then went back to playing. nobody had yet recognized her. are there even someone who knew her or did she looked so different that she was hard to recognize? she continued to walk forwards but her mind still was occupied with some unanswered questioned.

She never thought that coming back home after a long time would make her heart ache this much. When she left, she was just wondering how wonderful her life would be in the busting cities away from these small neighbourhood. But as time flew she realized how lively and cheerful this atmosphere was. she was born in this neighbourhood; she belonged to this place.

She did leave this place but her heart never did. There was always an empty feeling that she could not quite understand but now she does because that empty feeling was simply because she missed being the person she used to be. She missed being comfortable...

" Rim!" a female voice called her name. She turned to see who it was but even after staring at her for almost two minutes she was not able to come up with any name or relation that fitted that face.

" Umm sorry?" Rim finally blurted what was going on in her mind.

" Rim, do you not recognize me? I am you Moms closest friend." The way she mouthed the word closest made Rim realize at once who she was talking to. She was obviously not her mother's closest but a long lost acquaintance that even her mother wanted to not remember.

" Oh..hi Aunty." Rim said faking a smile. She might actually be the most clingiest person alive. since childhood whenever Mrs Goyal met her she used give a tight hug only to make her unable to breath and then release her only when she was satisfied.

Rim's POV;

Now how am I supposed to run? What do i tell her? If I start a conversation she will probably make me wait the whole evening talking about her kitty parties and the number of pets she had brought and abandoned in these four years.

" Are you back here permanently? Are you going to stay here from now on? What did you study in the university by the way? Oh I remember you click pictures right? you know what I just got a job for you. My cousin's daughter is getting married you can just come and click some photos for us. You won't charge us will you? Afterall we are somehow related. "

Before she could say some more garbage I cut her in between " Aunty I definitely charge for everyone I work because its a occupation not a charity. also, I don't think there will be some crime scenes happening on the wedding so I just don't belong to the job you just offered."

" I was just helping.." She said making her round eyes even rounder as she widened them.

" Well from my understanding, help is something you offer someone who needs it; in the right situation, when it does make sense. In my case I don't seem to be very much interested in that offer." I announced to make her look at me with astonishment.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
