1 Chapter 1: Choices Made

Crunch, crunch, crunch crunch

A girl aged 19 walked on a stone path in her town that was covered in leaves. The girl was about 5'3, had long black hair, and lavender colored eyes. She wore a light coat that was light green, a blue dress that cut off under her knee, and short black boots that cut off above her ankles. As she walked, she heard a voice say, "God's gift is coming, Charis. You will see His gift for you." A smile came to her face as she thought, 'I hope today is the day I see God's gift.' She walked around running her errands until she came to a flower shop. She walked in and looked around to see different flowers in bouquets in flower display stands, flowers and plants in vases on display tables, and a section of flowers and plants growing directly in dirt in a garden on the floor. The owner of the flower shop stood behind his desk where his register was and said, "Good morning Ms.Charis buying new flowers?" She smiled and said, "Yes, I'm looking for some beautiful roses to put in my new vase." The owner said, "Well, you're in luck. We just got a new shipment of roses in today. All of them are in our flower display stand." She walked over to the stand and looked at the different bouquets of flowers. She searched through the display, picked up a bouquet of roses, paid for them, and said her goodbyes as she left the store. She stood in front  of the store and smelled her roses. As she smelt them, she heard a voice say, "It's time, Charis." She quickly looked up and thought, "Time? Right now?" The same voice said, "Charis, it's time, but you will not see yet." She began walking along the stone path she walked on earlier saying, "How can it be time when I can't see? How will I know that it's coming to pass? What if I miss the gift? What if I mess up? What if I miss out on my Blessing?" The Voice said, "It's time, Charis, you will not miss out." She said, "But how will I know? How can I know? Why can't I see yet?" The Voice answered, "It's time Charis and you will not miss out." "Look out," a man yelled before bumping into Charis. They both fell and hit the floor, and the man landed on her roses, crushing them. The man said, "Are you okay? Here, let me help you up." The man helped Charis up, dusting her off, while apologizing. Another man walked up to them and said, "Adiel, you clutz you knocked right into her. Are you alright, Miss?" She said, "I-I'm okay," Adiel said, "I'm sorry, Miss. I should've been watching where I was going instead of goofing off. Me and Aaron here were just trying to stretch our legs, and I was being completely childish and should've been watching here I was going." Aaron looked on the ground to see Charis' flowers crushed and said, "Great job, you crushed her flowers." Adiel's eyes widened, and he said, "I'm so sorry. Please let me buy you some more." She smiled and said, "That's alright, it was an accident." Aaron said, "Oh please, Miss, let us buy you some more flowers to replace the ones that were destroyed." She picked up the flowers and said, "It's really okay. These flowers are just a little bent, but they're still good." Adiel said, "I still feel bad. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you, Miss..." She smiled and said, "Charis and no, it's really okay. It's not like this was some vicious attack. You're okay, I'm okay. We can leave it at that." Adiel said, "Alright, Miss Charis and again, I'm very sorry." She said, "There is no need to apologize so much. Anyway I have to get going, it was nice to meet you both." As she left, Aaron said to Adiel, "Nice job." Adiel said, "Well, you shouldn't have asked to race me in the first place. You're a grown man. 21 years old asking for races." Aaron said, "Look who's talking! You agreed to race me, and you're 23 years old, so I don't want to hear it." Adiel said, "Yatta, yatta, yatta! We need to be getting back to the castle anyways." Aaron said, "Yes, let's get back, Gentleman of the Bedchambers."

After a half hour past Adiel and Aaron finally made it back to the castle. They entered the castle and went into the King's Office. Where there sat a man aged 22 sitting in a black chair with his feet up on a redwood desk. The man wore a white gold crown with diamonds encrusted throughout it, an off white button up dress shirt that's sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, black dress pants, black lace up dress shoes, and a gold and black mask that covered his entire face but had holes for seeing and breathing out of. The King's Office had a blue rug, a red wood desk, bookshelves full of books, a bay window that was covered with white blackout curtains, and a brick fireplace with a mantle that had family pictures in picture frames on it.

Adiel and Aaron bowed while Adiel said, "Your Highness." The prince turned his head towards the curtains and said, "I should have you both killed for keeping the prince and future king of the Vinny Kingdom waiting." Aaron said, "Your Highness, Prince Donato, if we may explain why we are late." Donato looked over at them and said,."I have no interest in what you have to say. What good are you two." Aaron said, "But your Highness there was this woman whose beauty is unmatched by any other. A fine rare rose." Donato sat up in his seat and said, "Who?" Adiel said, "A woman who goes by the name Charis. We bumped into her in town, and I have to say I've never seen anyone as beautiful as her. She is unmatched by any princesses by any women of noble blood. Her beauty is rare." Aaron said, "Your Highness, you've been looking for a wife. If anyone is remotely worthy of being a queen, being your wife, it's Charis. Trust us, as your closet friends, we wouldn't turn you wrong." Donato said, "Send forth the carriages and bring her here to me. If she is what you say she is, I will have her as my wife."
