Chapter 6: Save me

"Long time no see, my brother."

He has a brother? But I don't see any resemblance between him and Christian. And why they don't live in the same house?

He looks familiar.

I watched the man in a lab coat stood up and walked towards us.

He's kind of  mature looking guy but maybe he's just a few years older than Christian.

He looked at Christian with a stern look.

Then passed his gaze to me.

Wait.. Don't tell me he can also---

"So who's this girl you brought here?" he asked, still looking at me.

"I kinda need your help, Jin. I think she's a lost soul," Christian replied.

"A lost soul?" I asked.

"They are souls that has an unfinished business in the world of the living that's why they can't cross through the world of souls," Jin answered.

"That's what Jin called them. He can see souls and sometimes  helps them. And please Jin don't call me your brother," Christian scowled at Jin.

"What's wrong with calling you my brother? You're already like a family to me," Jin smiled and jumbled Christian's hair.

I saw Christian smiled slightly.

"So what's your mission young lady?" Jin asked me.

"Well.. I actually don't know. I don't remember anything," I replied.

"Ohh..that would be difficult..I haven't encountered a soul that has no memory of his or her past. But I'll try my best to help you," he smiled.

"For the meantime Christian will keep you until we find out how to regain your memories. Do you have any complaints 'bout that Christian?" He grinned.

"Do I even have a choice?" Christian frowned.

"Then do you want her to stay here?" Jin asked.

"No. It would be better if she'll stay with me, Let's go."Christian walked towards the door to leave.

"You're leaving already? I just came back from Japan after 2 years. Didn't you miss me?" Jin faked a cry.

"No. But I miss hitting you because you're more like a kid than I am," Christian laughed a little.

Why does it feel so nostalgic?..

. . . . . . .

"Hey. You okay with that?"

I looked at Jin he's wearing different clothes.

"With what?" I asked.

"Aren't you listening? You're gonna stay here for the meantime, if it's okay with you." He answered.

"Christian said I'm going to stay with him," I looked at Christian.

He's also wearing different clothes.

"I didn't said that...are you okay?" he looks worried.

Huh?..

. . . . . .

"Hey"

I felt a pat on my shoulder.

I looked at Christian. He's now wearing the same clothes as earlier.

"What's wrong? I've been calling you but you just stood there staring at me," He asked with that worried look again.

"Umm..nothing, Let's go." I lead the way.

That's really odd.

"By the way, who is he? Is he really your brother?" I asked while we were walking towards the gate.

"Jin Mathis. He's a doctor and a childhood friend.

He might looked matured but he's actually childish. It's like I was raising a 24-year-old kid," he laughed a little.

He must be really special to him.

"He took care of me when I was 7 years old because my father buried himself in his work because my mother..." he stopped walking.

I stared at his face.

My heart starts to contract as I see his eyes full of grief.

"...My mother...died..." he continue to walk.

"Umm..how did your mother died?" I asked.

"We don't know the real cause, she has always been healthy and it's seldom for her to catch even a cold. Even the doctors couldn't find the cause, it's like death just suddenly took her life.." We entered the gate of his house.

"By the way. You're gonna be sleeping in the guest room beside my room so if you need something you can easily tell me, wait--" he paused.

"Do ghosts even sleep?"he frowned.

"Maybe yes? because I did," I said.

"That's odd.." he looks nonplussed.

***

I jolted as I felt a cold water on my feet.

I opened my eyes.

I'm standing in the middle of a white small room. There are 4 doors in it.

"Help!"

A woman's voice echoed in the room.

I looked around to find the source of the scream but there's nobody here aside from me.

"Help! Please!"

The doors suddenly opened but I couldn't see the other side of it.

My heart is pounding fast as I wait for something to come out from it.

A sudden burst of water from the doors started to fill the small room.

W-what's happening?!!

In less than 3 seconds the room is already half-filled with water.

I swam as the water goes up to the ceiling.

What am I gonna do!?

I breathed in all the air that I can take before the water fully filled the room.

I tried to find an exit but the doors are tightly closed.

Someone please help me!

I held my mouth as I started to go out of breath.

I'm not going to die here! I still have something I need to do!

My vision started to dim.

HELP PLEASEEEEEE!!!

some...one...

please...

save...me...
