1 The Past

Everybody of the whole population of Cambodia thought they were walking to a better life, but little did they know what was ahead of them was the most horrific thing that can ever happen to them.

As the family, neighbors, and friends were walking and talking about how their life was gonna be better. There holding her mother's hand was a tiny little girl who was smiling, and skipping around in excitement. Her dad was a police officer and her mother was a stay at home mom who took care of their children. 5 hours later.

"Mommy!! Mommy!! where are you? mommy. Has anyone seen my mom? A weak little voice was heard through the crowds. but know one payed attention to the voice that was calling out for her mom. As she struggled to find her mom Nina didn't give up. Nina where are you?? Nina!! honey, mommy's right here don't be afraid follow my voice.

Hearing her mother calling her name Nina starting running towards her mother's voice. Mommy, mommy!!!! (cries) seeing her mother Nina ran into her arms and started sobbing mommy I'm scared don't leave me mommy please. Nina darling mommy's right here don't be afraid anymore,mommy's right here. while holding Nina in her arms she silently prayed to God that everything would be okay.

(5 hours earlier) Once they got to their destination there were people being separated from other people. for intense anybody who was a teacher, a police officer, or a high rank person where taken away. So Nina would still remember the dad her dad was taken away and she never saw him again. That's when the sweet little smile she had on her face disappeared and the horrible nightmare had begun.

Present day: just only being 16 years old Nina had to witness the most horrific thing in her life, kids where raised up to be soldiers, people where beaten and killed everyday. She would see dead bodies of friends or neighbors she knew. There was know joy at all, they would wake up every morning early and go to work for the horrible people. This went on for 4 years when Nina thought she lost all hope, she found a little glimmer of hope.

Now at the age of 20 Nina found her a great guy, he secretly guarded her and protected her and her mom. Nina knew that if they were caught there would be a great price to pay. Nina was so scared but she loved him and he loved her, Nina can remember the day she had met him and how he showed so much care for her and made her feel safe.

Nina was in shocked when she heard the news, she couldn't believe it. The war has killers have been captured, it's over, it's over, it's over she kept saying. Until it reality hit her and she fell to her knees sobbing, she couldn't believe the nightmare she had been living for the past 4 years was over.

Nina and her mother and boyfriend went to find somewhere where they can just start over, start a new life living happily and in peace that they didn't have. Now 22 years have past and Nina is married to her love of her life, and they expecting her first child to be born. She kept thinking she couldn't thank him enough for staying by her side and keeping her safe, she felt so much happiness and joy. Now they have another member young them. On January 3rd, 2001 a little baby girl was born weighing 6 lb. 17 oz. she was the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. While kissing her on the forehead she made a promise to her little princess. (my little angel I promise you from this day on you would never have to suffer, I'll be there for you whenever you need me or whenever you don't need me. I will always be your protecter).
