6 Temptation

"We'll not be going to France," Noah continued panting, as he ran to me, when I was almost ready to board the plane.

“Benjamin...he is injured he broke his leg, so he can't shoot till next month," Noah said, trying hard to catch his breath.

"Ugh…. I spoiled my whole night for nothing," I replied with a sigh.

“What should we do?” he asked, peeking at my face.

“Ahem! Should we go for a drink, on this beautiful night,” I replied, pressing my lips together in a line.

"I’ll drop you home," Noah said, as he slid my bags after me.

"No, we're going to Cambridge," I replied, moving after him.

"About your date?" he asked, putting my bags in the car.

"Cancel it, why even bother asking," I replied, and closed my eyes to get some sleep.

"Today's shooting was great," Mr. Watson said, in a humble way like always, before we packup.

“Obviously!” I replied, taking my jacket, and left the orphanage’s garden in a hurry.

“The car is ready,” Noah said, approaching me on the pavement to the orphanage’s building.

"I've to meet the orphanage incharge, before leaving," I replied.

"Incharge?" he mumbled.

"I'm not even that selfish, to walk away quietly before helping these children," I continued.

“Wait for me, I’ll join after changing,” I said, opening the door of my vanity van.

"This is the sister Amelia, she is incharge of the orphanage,” Noah said introducing me to the sister. A middle aged woman dressed in a white was in the office.

"Good evening sister! this is Adam," I said, sitting ahead of her wooden table.

“Good evening child!,” she replied with a gentle smile.

"I want to sponsor this orphanage for two years," I said.

"Such a good deed it'll be so helpful for these children," she replied, gently.

"Good deed, one of the rarest things I’ve ever done," I thought.

"Then, I'll provide you my personal number, you can call me anytime," I said, putting my card on the table.

"Would you like a cup of tea?" she asked.

"I’m sorry but, I've a meeting today, so I've to leave for my hotel," I replied, standing up with a slight bow.

"Then, I'll walk you outside," she said standing up.

“So you like the orphanage?” she asked as we took the pavement outside the orphanage.

“Orphanage...It's very joyful, like these children?” I asked, shifting my gaze at the children who were playing in the garden, ahead of the orphanage.

“Whose house is this?” I asked, tentatively gazing at that girl’s house. As she seemed to be the only person who could tell me about her, so I wanted her to be involved in a conversation with me about her.

“It’s Dr. Joy Fiennes house, she is a general surgeon….. works at our orphanage's hospital,” she continued with a sigh.

“A young, humble and very talented lady,” she was explaining about her with flashing eyes.

"It’s sad, we can't even pay for her services.”

"So for how long she has been working here," I asked.

"Oh, it's been three months only, I heard there was a problem with her family,”

"Poor child," she said.

“Car is ready Sir,” Noah said, while approaching us again.

“Okay, I’m just coming,” I replied.

“Nice to meet you, mam” I said, with a vague smile, leaving.

“Have a good day my child!” she replied with a broad smile.

As soon as I turned around to go to my car, I noticed Joy on the road facing her house, parallel to which I was standing. I stared at her unknowingly, through the corner of my eyes.

She was moving slowly towards her house. Doing nothing special, just staring at the road, her hands were resting inside her grey overcoat. My eyes were following the rhythm of her open hairs, those were flowing against the wind.

She was not someone you can call an intellectual beauty, a rude but pure woman who has enough power to tempt me at least once.
