2 Fate

It is said, time will make you forget everything. But maybe in this situation the matter was a bit different and fate is just pushing me towards her as the time passes. Or maybe my fate lay the ground of my mistakes.

"How long it’ll take," I asked Noah, when he was driving me to the new set of our project.

“We’ll be reaching, soon,” he replied. Noah Smith is my secretary, a tall statured man with a solid torso and an average looking face.

He is my only ally and most trustworthy person in this glamour industry, who has always saved me from my scandalous situation.

“Where is that damn location?” I mumbled as we entered the countryside, I looked around at the long stretch of green field with my narrow eyes.

“It’s “sweet home”, Just twenty miles away from cambridge,” he replied casually.

"Just…. Just twenty miles, Uh...,” I mumbled, with a forced smirk.

While Noah was busy driving avoiding a peacock.

"Sweet home, what's that thing?" I asked, shifting my gaze at him.

"Uh, it includes an orphanage and a small hospital," he replied.

“And when we're working on the Frence’s schedule?" I continued.

"This project is sucking me, can't we shift the schedules?"

"I'll talk about it tomorrow, with Mr. Lee," Noah said while smiling vaguely.

"Really... should I throw you out of the car?" I said while looking at his partially visible face and his smile even went broader.

"Ahh seriously...," I said, frowning.

"Mr. Lee wants you to spend more time with Ms. Collins, he thinks it will be positively affecting the ratings if the media will spot you two at public places and restaurants," he said while changing the topic.

"Not again," I sighed.

"When last time I did this, my mom was so after me, that she even invited Collins on dinner parties too,"

“Did Lee not witness that mess by himself,” I said with a puffy face.

"What a spoiled day," I mumbled, deciding not to pay further attention to Noah.

"Nothing is wrong with that reaction, is there any guy in this nation who doesn't want to date Ms. Collins. She is a beautiful super rich family or I should say a billionaire family, and on the top of that she is a leading lady of industry," he said while giving me a look of dissatisfaction.

"I don't want to.... I am looking for something else," I murmured.

“Up to you If you want me to change your location,” he said, shrugging his shoulders.

“Should I join the company,” I mumbled.

"I'll do it, tell him to change the shooting schedule to France," I said shifting my gaze at the long green stripes of the field.

*****

It was cold there, the fog was covering the orphanage building, the fog was making it almost impossible to see the building.

"I’m going to take a look around this place," I said, putting my hands in the pocket of my coat before leaving.

As I reached the halfway to orphanage building from my car, I noticed a beautiful victorian house was built adjacent to Orphanage's building. Moss was growing on the wall in such a way as if they were giving life to the house. This would be a perfect idea for my new house's exterior design, I thought to myself.

“It’s strange these Victorian houses are still there….”

"It must be the orphanage's administration," I thought, moving inside.

The door of the house was partially opened so I knocked lightly.

"Is there anyone inside?" I said while entering.

"It seems to be someone's house," I mumbled gazing around. As two sofas were placed ahead of a TV. A noodle bowl was placed on the dining table of an open floor plan kitchen.

"I'm in the wrong house," I mumbled, as I started to leave.

"I've been waiting for you so long," I heard a voice after me.

"Who're...?" I said turning round.

That crazy girl was standing in the middle of the house's lobby. Wearing a plain white t-shirt and black shorts, a small pink towel was wrapped around her neck. Her innocent face was blossoming as if the silent rays of the morning slowly enveloping the darkness in itself. Her open hairs were lightly covering her neckline, like the sand of the shores covering the pearl laying in the ocean.
