6 I Care!

Muffeled voices, the beeping of an electrocardiogram and blurry images were what Leah could see and hear as she slipped back into consciousness. He vision was just clearing out and she could hear her sister's and Mona's voices. They sounded worried and Chloe was even crying. Leah wanted to speak but felt like there was a huge lump in her throat preventing her words from escaping. She surveyed the environment and saw a Male figure in a corner. She squinted to see who it was but her actions were interrupted by Chloe's shouty words.

"SHE'S AWAKE. DOCTOR!DOCTOR!GO GET THE DOC." Chloe shouted out to Mona who ran out of the ward to get the doctor. Mona came back in with the doctor and ran some tests on Leah.

"She seems ok. All she needs now is some rest." The doctor said. "You're all lucky that you got her here on time else she would've....." He froze

"We understand" Mona replied. The doctor left them ward, that's when the man at the corner who was stationary walked up to Leah's bedside. Her head almost popped when she saw Ryan standing beside her bed.

"What are you doing here?" she had a slight frown on her face. Ryan ignored her question and asked "Are you okay?"

He actually looked worried. He stared at Leah silently waiting for her answer. She rose an eyebrow skeptically "Why do you wanna know?"

Ryan looked at both girls, Mona and Chloe, signalling them to leave. Chloe got the hint and tried to lead Mona out.

"Uhh Mona, can you please come with me to get some food for Leah. She might be hungry." She winked at Mona and she also played along. "Ohh...Yeah. Let's go" Mona supported. The two ladies left the ward. Ryan turned his attention back to Leah who was trying to sit up but was too weak. He wanted to help her but she resisted. "I don't need your help." She sat up by herself. "Why did you help me here in the first place?" She had a look of confusion on her face. "Because I care. You're a business partner and a business can't be business without a partner, can it?"He said with a smile on his face. Leah couldn't help but chuckle a bit. Was this guy for real? He only appreciated those who worked alongside him and he had something to benefit from them. Such an ass
