5 Got off on a bad start

"who was that?" everyone was silent. "I asked a question, didn't I?" There was still no reply. "Since no one admitted please can there be no more interruption from anyone?".She turned back to face the projection but another 'interruption' occurred

*Cough*

*Cough*

*Clears throat*

"Who the hell is that?"Leah turned with anger in her eyes. Her expression was calm but her eyes bore a deep anger within them.

"Do you have a problem with it? "Ryan Mu asked with a smirk "Its not like you don't cough or need to clear your throat once in a while"

"Oh! its you, again" Leah said with obvious irritation.

Ryan smiled exposing his perfectly white teeth. He was completely breathtaking (to other women). Leah wasn't just the type of girl that would love a guy based on his looks, she wasn't the type of girl that would love at all in the first place so his dirty 'drop dead beauty smile' wouldn't get to her so easily. "What the hell is wrong with you?" She folded her arms across her chest. "From what I've seen, you need high end therapy because I think you've gone haywire." Leah's words threw everyone off course. Ryan smiled. His smile confused everyone in the room. Wasn't he the rich hot dude that didn't take no shit from no one?

The attention remained on Ryan as he spoke. "I know this might not be the right time but we got off on a bad start." He let a charming small smile on his lips. "I'm Ryan Mu, The CEO of Mu international."

Leah was shocked but did well to hide it. 'can't believe the guy I called a bastard twice is the CEO that's gonna change my life in the business world...urgh' She felt like walking over and punching that smile off his face. She now understood why he was smiling so much. She had messed up big time but if she began acting nice all of a sudden, she'd be hypocritical. She just stood still and watched Ryan grin madly. He got what he wanted, and that was to see her at a loss. She stole a glance of her assistant who was seated not too far off to signal her to do something about her predicament. Mona, her assistant, picked up the signal and in less than a minute the temperature of the room dropped. The AC was at the lowest and Leah found it hard to breathe. Everything became blurry. At the next moment Leah passed out. Everyone present was shocked. What the hell just happened? Mona ran up to the now unconscious Leah and checked her pulse "Dont worry everyone, she's ok she needs time to get back. Can we please postpone the meeting?" Mona announced as she supported the half conscious Leah. The representatives responded with nods as they watched Leah being escorted to her office. Ryan watched the whole scenario unfold and smiled. 'This woman is more witty than I expected'

*LEAH'S OFFICE*

Mona lead Leah to her seat and brought a hot cup of coffee to her. Leah received the cup and sighed in exhaustion. "Thank you Mona" she smiled weakly.

"At your service Miss Chang. You really should go for a check up later, you may have damaged your system in any way." Mona said with concern all over her face. "Don't worry, I'm fine" I guess I didn't say everything about Leah. She was born with a rare disease that acted up whenever she was exposed to an environment too cold. It might not be cold to others but her body could only withstand a particular temperature. If she were to stay in such a temperature, she'd pass out and possibly die if not attended to immediately. Leah laughed a little when she saw Mona's worried look. "You look like my grandma. Dont worry yourself so much, I'm ok."

Mona nodded "I'll get back to work now"

Mona left the office. Leah put down the cup and sighed. The more she thought of her condition, the more she thought of the fact that she was lucky to live. Her disease, according to the doctor, was likely to be a minor case of a frozen heart. The more she was exposed to the cold, the more her heart froze. What she did in the meeting room was really risky and if she wasn't careful, she would've joined her great grandparents in hell for suicide. After a long day's work, Leah left her office still feeling slightly uncomfortable and weak but better. She went out but Mona wasn't at her desk so she left anyway. She went down to the underground car park and got into her car and relaxed into her seat. She didn't have enough energy to even lift up the keys to start the car. These were the times she wished for a chauffeur and not drive around by herself. She closed her eyes and took long, deep breaths trying to steady her heart. She started to look pale and she couldn't feel her hands. This always happened when her heart reacted to the cold. She opened up the car door with the little strength left in her, got down from the car but couldn't even go far because she collapsed. Before completely going unconscious she heard Mona's voice and saw another figure. Mona was looking worried as she dialled a number, she was at the verge of tears. Leah suddenly felt light as if being carried. That's when her whole world turned pitch black.
