13 Cooperation

Just six more months and her contractual spirit would be awaken. Guang Ling came to Ning Wang Manor a few times these last four months. His arrival caused Zhu Xiao Qian and the others to be dumbfounded, and she was interrogated. Guang Ling taught her about medicines and told her that upon his next visit, he would teach her about poisons.

Thinking about how she could get information was a pain in the head. Prior to this, everyone was trying to get her attention, fawning over and flattering her. Getting a good network was not an arduous problem. Hence, she never actually knew how to make friends. How was she supposed to get any information?

Zhu Xiao Wan was ruminating when she noticed that someone was staring at her. She turned her head around to the window. The person she saw made her eyes glimmered with alert. "What made Shen Wang come at night?" She asked.

Song Hui Yao smiled and said with his brows raised, "Young Miss Zhu need not be vigilant."

"You're not a person of Qianyu Kingdom." She narrowed her eyes. "What is it that you want?"

"Your enemy is also one of mine," he said as he pulled a chair for himself to sit down, "Why don't we work together?"

She scrutinized him. "You should talk to Zhu Xiao Qian instead of me."

"But you are more interesting," Song Hui Yao replied. "You were suppose to be dead, but here you are, living and healthy."

Zhu Xiao Wan narrowed her eyes, "...How can I trust you?" She rarely trusted anyone, and this person even knew that Zhu Xiao Wan was suppose to be dead.

"Tomorrow, come to Shen Wang Manor. I'll tell you who your enemy is." He said. When he was about to leave from the opened window, Song Hui Yao added. "That brother of your will be in danger someday, he's still too kind."

Zhu Xiao Wan knitted her eyebrows.

What did he mean!?

Zhu Xiao Wan arrived at Shen Wang Manor's main gate close to noon the following day. She happened to find Princess You Yan, who was sitting in her carriage. The housekeeper told her that Song Hui Yao was waiting for her, and ordered a manservant to lead the way.

Tang Rue insisted on meeting Song Hui Yao, but was refused by the housekeeper again and again. When she saw Zhu Xiao Wan entering the manor, she was angered.

How resentful! They said that Shen Wang was busy and couldn't accept guests. However, that Ning Xiao Wan was welcomed!?

Tang Rue took a deep breath and said with consideration, "Since Shen Wang is busy, this princess shall return."

The housekeeper snorted after Princess You Yan left.

Inside the manor, the manservant led her to Song Hui Yao's study. Song Hui Yao was fanning himself with a black fan. Facing Zhu Xiao Wan, he smiled. "You came."

Zhu Xiao Wan stayed quiet and just looked at him, waiting patiently.

"Sit. What do you want?" He asked. "Tea?"

Vaguely nodding, she sat down.

Song Hui Yao passed her a cup of newly made tea and said, "I also know why they want to obliterate your clan."

"Who?" Zhu Xiao Wan questioned, her countenance calm.

He examined her face. "The Earthy Faerie Temple."

"Earthy Faerie Temple?"

He continued, "They were after a treasure in your Zhu Clan...They are a puissant force."

"How formidable are they?" There was faint worry forming between her brows.

Taking his gaze away from her, Song Hui Yao said, "Most are Silver Spirit and above."

Considering it for a while, Zhu Xiao Wan said, "You said that Earthy Faerie Temple was one of your enemies. Tell me, who's the other?"

"You want to know?" Glancing at her, he grinned. "But curiosity killed the cat."

Zhu Xiao Wan closed her eyes. "Yes, they have nothing to do with me." Lifting her eyelids, she agreed. "I'll cooperate with you."
