4 Executing The Plan

After Qin Mei left the room Lin Xiaoxiao laid her head back down and closed her eyes. She started to go over in her head the plan that Qin Mei told her but at some point, she had fallen asleep. When she woke again it was already dark and the only light in the room was from the moon outside and the glow from the LCD's on the medical machines in the room.

Lin Xiaoxiao thought back to when she had to do physical therapy once when she hurt her leg on the set of a movie. As she remembered the stretches she had to do. She reached down with her arms and slowly started to lift her right leg towards her chest. Although it hurt, she kept at it for a few hours. She did not overdo it but at least she was able to give some much-needed exercise to her legs. Afterward, when she was done she felt tired once again and laid back down closing her eyes.

Lin Xiaoxiao felt her body shaking. She slowly opened her eyes to see Qin Mei standing next to the bed with a wheelchair next to her. Qin Mei had a nervous expression on her face and seemed to be in a bit antsy. "Miss Xiao, I'm sorry to wake you but we need to hurry. There is only so much time before the day crew comes to switch shifts and I need to get you into my car before they show up."

Qin Mei's words woke Lin Xiaoxiao right up as she nodded and said: "You're right, sorry fell asleep again without realizing it. What do you need me to do."

"We first need to get you into this wheelchair. I will fix your hair so it will cover your face. I'm going to say that you are a mentally disabled patient that wanted to go out for air. It is not uncommon for us to take out some of the more severe cases of mental disorders for fresh air in the early mornings. So all you need to do is act like you can't speak and are a little crazy. Do you think you can do that? " While Qin Mei was explaining the details of what to do she was already removing the IV drips from Lin Xiaoxiao's arm and hand. She left the connectors in to make it look like she was not going anywhere besides for a stroll outside. Afterward, she started taking off the other medical equipment.

"Un, that is easy enough. If anyone tries to move my hair to see my face just tell them that they will lose a finger if they get to close." Qin Mei liked that idea very much, she nodded as she started to assist Lin Xiaoxiao into the wheelchair she had brought.

The two did not speak anymore after that. Qin Mei fixed Lin Xiaoxiao's hair so that it covered most of her face so no one would recognize her. Qin Mei then pushed the wheelchair and the two exited the room. Qin Mei had been working at this hospital for a long time so she knew all the areas that were not monitored by cameras. She made use of this knowledge to get to a side entrance of the hospital that had only one security guard standing guard. This was where they were going to have to show some acting skills. Normally the guard would need to check the identity of both the nurse and patient before they could leave at this time in the morning.

They slowly made their way to the door the guard was looking at them sizing them up. The guards penetrating gaze made Qin Mei's palms sweat. Lin Xiaoxiao had her face turned to the side and would slightly twitch her head ever so often. The hair covering her face would slight part with every twitch but not enough to see who it actually was. When the guard saw this he frowned. He hated dealing with mental patients the most. They were always a hassle to deal with.

They were now standing in front of the guard Qin Mei was very nervous at this point. Almost to the point that she was shaking. Luckily she was not otherwise the guard would have noticed. He looked at Qin Mei and said: "Your ID badge please." Qin Mei quickly took off the neck strap that had her ID badge connected to it and handed it to the guard. She then took this opportunity to rub her hands on her uniform to get rid of the clamminess on her hands. The guard looked at the ID Badge before nodding his head and handing it back.

The guard then turned his attention to Lin Xiaoxiao. Once again he frowned when he saw that her hair was covering her face. He reached over with his hand slowly to part the hair so he could see her face. As his hand got closer and closer Lin Xiaoxiao who could partially see what was going on through her hair started twitching her head faster and faster pressing it up against the chair like she was trying to merge with it. Just as the guard's hand was about to touch Lin Xiaoxiao's hair a hand grabbed his wrist stopping him.

"Miss Qin what are you doing?" The guard asked.

"If you want to lose a finger then, by all means, continue and touch her hair. This patient is very violent when people touch her hair and will bite the person. There have already been a few accidents because of this." Qin Mei's words startled the guard he quickly retracted his hand.

After clearing his throat he then asked: " How long will you be outside?"

"About a half-hour." Qin Mei Said with a smile.

The guard nodded and opened the door letting the two pass by. When he closed the door again, he wiped the invisible sweat from his forehead. He was lucky that she stopped him otherwise he might have lost a finger today. "This is why I hate dealing with mental patients." The guard let out a sigh of relief.

Outside Qin Mei quickly walked towards the back of the building. She had parked her car in a discreet location that was hidden behind some trees and bushes in the parking lot. When they got to the car there was a person standing there waiting. This was a teenage girl with long black hair wearing a hospital gown. Qin Mei smiled when she saw the girl and said: "Little Bo thank you for doing this."

"It's no problem Miss's Qin you have helped me and my mother out a lot. So all I have to do is go back with you on the wheelchair and then walk down a certain hallway and make sure the camera's see me?" Little Bo asked. She was asked by Qin Mei to help Lin Xiaoxiao escape from the hospital due to some reason with violent parents. Little Bo was very poor and her mother had a hard time paying the bills. One time when Littel Bo's mother was sick and collapsed Qin Mei had saved her mother's life even paying the hospital and medicine fees. Thanks to her her mother got better in no time. When Qin Mei asked her to do something like this even though it could get them in trouble Little Bo did not hesitate to agree to help.

Lin Xiaoxio looked at the girl in front of her, she seemed to be about the same age as her. A faint smile appeared on her lips as she said: "Thank you very much for your help. In the future, if you ever need anything come ask me I will do whatever I can to help."

"Your welcome but you do not need to do anything for me I am just trying to repay Miss Qin for her kindness." Little Bo said as she smiled back.

"Okay let's do this quick I will need your help getting Miss Lin into the back seat and a blanket over her. Miss Xia you will need to lay down in the backseat for a little while until I am off work to avoid suspicion." Qin Mei said as she helped Lin Xiaoxiao into the back seat of the car with Little Bo's help.

"That's fine I have been through worse. I must really thank you for this. I owe you a debt of gratitude." Lin Xiaoxiao smiled, she was very grateful to meet such nice people. These people were willing to put themselves in a position that could get them thrown in jail to help her escape the clutches of her abusive family.

"Miss Xia I will be back in about an hour when I finish doing what Miss Qin asked me to do and am done changing and fixing my hair. So you will have company until Miss Qin Is done with work." After saying this Little Bo sat in the wheelchair and stuffed her spare clothes up in behind her. Qin Mei fixed her hair so that it would cover her face.

"Then Miss Xia, I will see you in a few hours." Qin Mei said as she closed the door to the car. After making sure the window was cracked to allow fresh air in. She couldn't help but be thankful that it was already fall and the weather was cool during the day even with the sun out. She would not have to worry about Lin Xiaoxiao getting heatstroke.

"Un. I will see you all soon. Thank you again." Lin Xiaoxiao watched as Qin Mei nodded and turned around and headed back towards the hospital.
