Nathaniel was stunned at Maya's words, he blinked and stared at the woman before him. 

"What?" he asked again.

"Why does it sound like you aren't willing to marry me anymore?" Nathaniel could feel his heart drop as soon as he heard Maya's question, he hadn't intended to make it seem that way.

Nathaniel combed his fingers through his hair as he began to wonder what he should do next.

He looked up at Maya and quickly saw the panicked look in her eyes.
