A Story

Maya smiled as she watched Cassandra's expression change, clearly she was slowly realizing that she had taken on someone she couldn't offend.

It was as if Cassandra hadn't heard what she said, so Maya decided to repeat herself.

"Miss Poiters, why don't I tell you the story of the Heir to Miller Industries," Maya said, grinning from ear to ear.

Cassandra's eyes quickly snapped back to reality, realizing how she had been lost in her own thoughts.

"You see, a few months ago the CEO of Miller Industries, Carlton Miller got into a terrible accident," Maya recounted. "And he was saved by his granddaughter's boyfriend."

She watched as Cassandra's expression turned into one of sheer confusion.

"I guess you're wondering why I'm telling you this much," Maya chuckled.

"You're crazy," Cassandra hissed.
