48 Wedding Canceled

Mo Shiqian's expression remained unchanged. His thin lips opened. "Why?"

"Because I'm a celebrity. That's why you have to accept the secret relationship. Do you need any other reason? Besides, if I have a boyfriend right after I cancel my wedding with Mo Xigu, and the boyfriend is you… what do you think others would think about me?"

Without doubt, it would look like she had had an affair with her bodyguard for a long time.

Moreover… Mo Shiqian was so good-looking that it made her adultery with him seem more than convincing.

He smiled lightly. "It sounds like a big sacrifice."

Chi Huan looked at his handsome profile and frowned. "What do you mean?"

"You want to hide me from others and keep our relationship as a secret. I feel wronged as a man."

Although he said he felt wronged, he didn't seem to act like it. He was still calm and indifferent, as if he was telling the story of someone else.

"You said this morning that you could give me whatever I wanted as long as you could."

"I can promise you that I'm your bodyguard when there are other people around."

Chi Huan was a little angry. "You have conditions again, don't you?"

His voice was low and his words were like stirring the string of her heart. "Follow my lead in bed every Monday night."

His tone was normal but Chi Huan's fine face blushed. Nobody knew if she was being furious or shy. If he had not been driving, she would have made sure he received a slap from her.

She was annoyed. "Mo Shiqian, I know half of the time men are thinking with their penis, but can you please at least cover your filthy thoughts a bit?"

She was outraged but Mo Shiqian was still calm. He smiled faintly and said, "When there are others around, you are the queen and I'm the bodyguard. When there are only the two of us, you are a fair lady raised up decently and I have to serve you. Do you even want to be on top when we are in bed?"

He turned aside to stare at her with a subtle smile. "Do I look like I'm a man who will be okay with that?"

Chi Huan, "…"

She must be insane before that she thought he was abstinent.

She had to try so hard to ease her frustration but the blush was still on her face. "I already agreed to your conditions. Do you have some other perverted habits?"

"Not yet."

She was alarmed with eyes wide open. "What do you want from me?"

The man smiled slightly. He acted as if they were talking about something serious rather than dirty. "I won't hurt you and I promise you'll feel comfortable as well, okay?"

Chi Huan, "…"

She bit her lips tightly and her anger surged in her chest.

She turned her face towards the window without answering but Mo Shiqian knew she had compromised.

Chi Huan spent too much time on changing her clothes and doing makeup, so when they arrived at the cathedral, there was only about ten minutes left before the press conference started.

After parking the Ferrari outside the cathedral, Mo Shiqian opened the door for her. She had changed her expression and her exquisite facial features looked calm and amazing.

"Take me through the back entrance. I don't want to go in through the front."

She didn't ask if Mo Shiqian knew where the back entrance was but he said 'yes' when she asked him to do it.

They entered in smoothly. There were even security guards who helped them move out of the sight of the reporters and guests. They made their way to the back of the church.

Mo Xigu was easily spotted among the ordinary people.

His secretary was the first who noticed Chi Huan. The secretary was surprised and then pulled at Mo Xigu's sleeve in a panic.

Mo Xigu was in a black suit. It fit him well and he looked elegant. He was looking downwards as if he was deep in his thoughts and his pretty face looked gloomy, tired… and even annoyed.

The secretary said something to him and then he looked up towards her.

Chi Huan had pursued him and showed up around him for four years. Her face had been printed in his mind and he could recognize her even with his eyes closed. With a glance, he seemed to be a bit stunned by her beauty, and it took his breath away for a second.

She was in a below-the-knee red coat, with a black scarf around her long, curly hair. Her heeled ankle boots were also black.

Compared to how her image was in the media, she looked bright and gorgeous, as if she was shining.

The tall, straight and handsome man was still standing behind her.

Chi Huan walked over to Mo Xigu and looked up at him with a delicate and pretty face. Her smile wasn't genuine, which was rare.

Mo Xigu looked down at her and swallowed. He said hoarsely, "Chi Huan, I'm sorry."

He didn't want her to come but he knew she would.

"The wedding is canceled at the last minute, isn't it?"

He looked at her with a more complicated expression in his eyes but he still nodded and said hoarsely in a low voice, "I'll tell everyone that this is totally my fault."

She chuckled and said clearly, "Is it because you slept with Su Yabing?"

Only two other people heard what she said – Mo Shiqian who was behind Chi Huan, and the secretary who was by Mo Xigu's side. Mo Shiqian looked as he usually did. Mo Xigu's secretary was a little shocked but didn't say anything, either.

Mo Xigu stared at her smiling face. He turned from shock to frowning and finally he was sullen. "Chi Huan," his voice was cold and calm, "This is my fault. I'm sorry… You can blame me all you want but this is nothing to do with her. Don't make it hard for her…"

His next line was heavy and cold. "Do not say a word about her in front of the media."

She waited until he finished and smiled. "Why?"

Mo Xigu looked even more unpleasant. He raised his hand and wanted to grasp a hold of her shoulder but before he could touch even her clothes, he was stopped. A light voice came into his ears from behind. "Mister Mo."

Two words only, but Mo Xigu knew what that meant.

Chi Huan gave him a glimpse and walked up to take the wireless microphone the female working staff had wanted to give to Mo Xigu. She looked back at him and curled her rouge lips. "I wanted the wedding before, so I'm the one who will cancel it, not you."

With that, she turned around and walked towards the front of the cathedral. A few working staff didn't know what had happened and they dared not stop Chi Huan without Mo Xigu's order. After all, she wasn't a nobody.

Mo Xigu looked very unpleasant. He wanted to follow her but was stopped by the bodyguard. The man's cold tone rang out in Mo Xigu's ears again, "Mister Mo, what you are worrying about is not going to happen, so don't continue forward and make it happen."

He looked back at the man who was talking. He saw a trace of mockery in his eyes.

Chi Huan had the microphone in her hand and walked straight over to stand under the crucifix of Jesus, where she was supposed to take the oath. She held the microphone near her lips. "I'll make one announcement only. I'm not going to answer any questions. So, all of my friends from the media, just listen."

There was immediately an uproar and some discussions among those people below.

Her makeup was delicate and her coat was bright red. She had the microphone in her hand with a socially perfect smile on her face.

"As you all know, I pursued Mr. Mo for four years. He promised to marry me a month ago, but in this last month, we didn't get along. We both believe that we're not the right person for each other. So we decide to end it just in time and cancel the wedding."
