31 Do You Need Me to Carry You Upstairs?

Her legs and feet felt numb due to the blood being blocked somewhere. It was only at this point did she slowly raise her head.

A slender and long figure cast a shadow on her.

She saw two slender and straight legs, and further up, it was Mo Shiqian's handsome and cold face. He inserted one hand into his pocket and looked at her calmly in a condescending way.

When Chi Huan saw him, she immediately felt that her awkwardness had nowhere to hide. She moved and tried to stand up.

Her numb legs, after squatting for a long time, could not return back to normal immediately. She stumbled and nearly fell to the ground.

The man reached out his arms to hold her waist stably and he spoke with an extremely magnetic voice, "Do you need me to carry you upstairs?"

Mo Shiqian had carried her quite a few times over these past years.

Chi Huan held his arms. "Help me sit on the bench over there. I just need some rest and then I will be alright."

As she said it, she began to slowly move her feet.

Mo Shiqian lowered his head to watch her movements. But still, he reached out his hands to pick her up around her waist and walked towards the bench only a short distance away.

Looking at his handsome but cold side profile, Chi Huan thought to herself that although he was her bodyguard, was it too intimate for him to carry her like this? After all, she was just feeling pins and needles in her feet and wasn't hurt.

The man put her down on the bench and watched her pinch her feet.

While doing that, she looked up at him. "Since you came here in person, is there anything you would like me to know?"

The bench was under a 100-year-old banyan tree. The light had become dim. Only some rays of lamplight went through the gaps of the leaves to finally flow on her.

Mo Shiqian looked at where the Lamborghini had left from and blinked his eyes. "Have you two gotten back together?"

She lowered her head and started to pinch her feet again. "Yeah. He came to tell me that he wanted to bring forward the wedding ceremony."

After a moment of silence, the man's low voice sounded and it seemed to be mixed with a hint of a smile. He didn't sound surprised at all, "Will the wedding be held in advance?"

"Yes, I agreed."

He nodded at her words, and it seemed that he chuckled. "Looks like I can finish my work earlier."

Since she and Mo Xigu set a marriage date, he had let slip that he would only serve as her bodyguard till her wedding day.

Thinking of this, she furrowed her eyebrows but said nothing.

Chi Huan asked him again, "You came to my house, is there anything you want to let me know?"

"Not anymore."

Not anymore, instead of "No."

"Xigu said Su Yabing had left his villa, is it true?"

"I thought whatever Mister Mo said, you would believe it."

She frowned. "Since you are here, it's convenient for me to ask."

"Well, she left, he didn't lie to you."

Chi Huan nodded, and she found her numb legs had almost recovered, so she stood up. "I'm going back up to have my dinner. If there's nothing, you can go back as well."

After saying these words, she turned around.

"Young Miss."

She turned back around to look at him. "What's up?"

The man's eyes were deep and peaceful. He spoke softly with his methodical voice, "I will not show up on the day of your wedding. Do you need me to prepare the medicine for your wedding night in advance?"

An evening breeze blew, and the rustle was heard among the leaves.

Chi Huan looked at him without moving.

Mo Shiqian bowed his head slightly and said in the same tone, "Call me, if you need me. If everything's okay, I'll leave first."

Early the next morning, when Chi Huan was still at home, Mo Xigu had already arrived.

Before going out with him, Chi Huan applied simple makeup and matched her clothes to each other.

Downstairs, Mo Xigu opened the door near the passenger's seat for her like a gentleman. She said with a smile, "Didn't we agree that I would go to you?"

The man smiled faintly. "That's what you said, I didn't say I would wait for you to come to me."

She bowed her head to put on her seat belt and turned to look at the man. "Where are we going? Do you have any plans?"

Mo Xigu started the car. "We're going to see our new house."

She felt stunned for a while. "Our new house?"

While driving, the man turned sideways and glanced at her. "After we get married, won't you move out and live with me?"

"Oh… of course," she raised her hand and touched her eyebrow, "it's just you didn't mention it before."

He held the steering wheel with both hands and looked forward. "Is this because I never kissed you before, and you're not used to it?"

Chi Huan gradually curled up her hands that she was resting on her handbag and lowered her eyes.

"Maybe a little."

The new house was a villa under Mo Xigu's name. Its location and environment were both very good. It was not very big, but it was more than enough for a newly married couple.

Chi Huan stood on the lawn of the villa's garden and folded her hands together, with her face full of expectations. "I want to keep a dog and a cat. Xigu, do you like pets?"

Mo Xigu wore an iron-grey suit which was elegant and fit him perfectly. He looked at the smiling side profile of Chi Huan flatly and replied softly, "I don't hate pets, you can keep pets if you like."

She smiled at him. "Deal. We will go to the pet store after we come back from Europe."

Mo Xigu looked at her clean and beautiful smile, his Adam's apple rolling up and down. "Okay."

At this moment, he thought that living with a woman like her, even for a lifetime, might not be an unbearable thing to do.

Many successful people still lost their loved ones. Perhaps the so-called love of someone's life was originally placed in his heart, not at his side.

There was only one week left before the wedding.

Mo Xigu showed his unprecedented patience to Chi Huan. Besides the new house, he took her to dinner every day, went shopping with her, and bought her clothes, bags, and jewelry.

Even though some things cost a lot of money, he swiped his credit cards without hesitation. He even brought her a large bunch of red roses on the morning that he took her to choose a wedding ring.

Holding a bunch of flowers in her arms, Chi Huan's exquisite and white face seemed to be dyed red by the bright color and she chuckled. "Thanks."

In fact, Mo Xigu rarely saw her in such a sweet state like a little woman. He felt a pounding in his heart, leaned over to her, and smiled gently. "No reward?"

She was stunned, then held the flowers and tiptoed to give him a light kiss on the cheek.

Then she took two steps backwards, looked up and laughed. "Wait here for a moment, let me put the flowers in a vase and sort out my bag then we can go."

After saying these words, she quickly ran back into the living room.

Mo Xigu looked at her back and smiled unconsciously.

Chi Huan found a vase and carefully put all the roses in it.

The phone of the man suddenly rang. He frowned, took out his phone and glanced at the name of the caller on the screen. Then he slid his fingers across his phone screen and walked to the balcony. "What's the matter?"

There was an urgent voice from his assistant over the phone, "Boss Mo, we got the news about Miss Su… It was Yang Hao who just called, and he said… Miss Su committed suicide! He begged you to save her…"

Suicide…

Mo Xigu's eyes turned cold, and his voice also immediately became terrifyingly cold, "Suicide? My mother promised that as long as I get married, she won't hurt Yabing, didn't she?"

The assistant said with a little embarrassment, "It seems that… Mrs. Mo deliberately locked Miss Su and Yang Hao in the same room… She drugged them and wanted to force… But Miss Su reacted violently and cut her wrist with a fruit knife."
