15 Chapter 13

||3rd POV||

"Who are you all?"

Lor said as he gazed down at the Justice League and future Young Justice members.

The moment Lor's word's fell on them, everyone snapped out of their surprise.

Only for confusion to then plant itself on everyone's face.

They couldn't understand anything he was saying.

He was speaking Kryptonian after all and nobody knew Kryptonian.

Nobody but two people.

Superman and Kara.

Superman had a surprised look on his face as his mind raced at the thought of just how it was possible for someone to know Kryptonian.

There was no way someone could be speaking Kryptonian...

Unless they were Kryptonian themselves.

Or had someone gotten into the fortress of Solitude to learn the Kryptonian language?

No, that shouldn't be possible…

While Superman was trying to figure out how it was possible for another Kryptonian to exist aside from him and his cousin, The other person who could understand Kryptonian was currently having a mental crisis.

Kara had a disbelieving expression on her face as she stared at the flying figure in the sky.

She couldn't believe what she was seeing.

The person she loved the most...The person she thought to be dead...

Was currently flying in front of her.

Although, there were some differences in him. For example, he had bright red hair while the person she loved had blonde hair.

Not to mention, he was flying, something she believed Lor couldn't previously do.

But despite these differences, there was no doubt that the person in front of her was Lor.

Her love.

His face, that armor that she had seen him wear countless times during his time as General, his beautiful red eyes, his lean but muscular body...

And even that smirk on his face, she'd seen it all.

No doubt the person in the sky was her love.

Her eyes turned moist as the once lifeless eyes she's had for the past two years finally turned bright.

She gazed at him as a beautiful smile formed on her face and her tears trickled down her face and to the ground.

"You're alive. You're alive Lor, Thank you Rao, thank you so much." She muttered as her tears fell down her cheek's heavily.

The past four years for Kara were nothing short of torturous. The two years she spent on Krypton were harsh for her since she couldn't talk to Lor but she managed to move past it.

She managed to look past that and see the bright side of the situation despite the tremendous pain in her heart at the way Lor was treating her.

At least, she could still see him even if it's from afar. At least, she was able to gaze at him and see his face everyday even if she didn't have contact with him.

She kept telling herself that as she tried to be grateful that it wasn't worse.

But the pain from not talking to Lor was just too much.

And Her time on earth didn't make it better. After Krypton was destroyed, which to her was only two years ago but to Kal, was more than thirty years ago, she had been through intense sadness and emotional pain.

She was told by her cousin that they were the only surviving Kryptonian's of the now destroyed Krypton and no one else had made it.

She immediately realized that if she and her cousin were the only ones to survive the destruction of their planet then...

Lor was dead.

Throughout the two years she was on this planet, Despair and intense anguish had plagued her. Never once was there a time she was happy or excited.

Even seeing her cousin all grown and now an adult did nothing to make her happy.

Her heart was too broken from the thought that Lor was dead.

Every second and hour spent alone only served to remind her that Lor was gone and she'll forever be forced to live alone.

Broken and in pain.

Countless times was her mind put to test and her sanity, almost taken from her.

The only reason she was even still alive and hadn't committed suicide yet was because of her memories with Lor.

The beautiful moments spent with him.

The fun and laughs they had and the smile he would always show to her.

Every single piece of memory was precious to her.

That's the only reason she forced herself to go through this torture and not just end herself.

She would lose all those memories. All her treasures.

But only she knew that she couldn't keep it up for long. She was too obsessed with Lor and living life without him was just too unbearable for her.

There's no doubt she would eventually breakdown if this kept up.

Truly, the last four years were her worst years.

"Do you not hear me creatures? Who are you all?" Lor once again asked, his smirk leaving his face and returning to normal, his tone growing cold at their lack of response.

Lor's word's instantly snapped Superman out of his thoughts. He looked towards Lor only to see him growing impatient.

He turned towards Batman and the other Justice League members who had regrouped next to him and Batman and laid out his thoughts.

"I think he's Kryptonian."

The moment his words got out, everybody looked at him in surprise.

"Kryptonian?! But I thought they were all dead?! Excluding you and Kara, of course." A muscular, black-haired Caucasian male with blue eyes, said.

He had on a red costume with gold accents and a white and gold cape over one shoulder.

He had a golden thunder bolt logo on his chest, golden sash and golden boots.

He had a surprised expression on his face as he stared at Superman, trying to see if he was really telling the truth.

This was Shazam.

"I thought the same thing...until now, that is." Superman said as he glanced at Lor.

"How do you know that?" Batman said from beside Superman, his eyes narrowing at the prospect of there being another Kryptonian.

Superman turned towards his side and raised an eyebrow at Batman.

"How do you know he's Kryptonian?" Batman further clarified.

"Well, for one..." Superman said as he once again glanced at Lor in the sky.

"He's speaking Kryptonian."

The adults nodded their heads, accepting how Superman was able to come to the conclusion on why he thinks the flying person is Kryptonian.

"The damaged ship too is also a giveaway. It's a Kryptonian war ship that's used for wars. The armor he's wearing is also Kryptonian technology, all these tech can't be found anywhere on earth so the only conclusion is that he got it from a place where it can only be made, Krypton."

"Which, at this point in time, is destroyed." Batman concluded.

Superman nodded his head at Batman's words.

Indeed, Krypton had been destroyed for the past thirty years and the only way he could have gotten those techs should have been from the planet itself.

'Meaning he's a Kryptonian like Superman and Supergirl but that raises the question on how he's still alive. How did he survive the planet's destruction? Who is he to have such high technology with him? Even if he somehow escaped the planet's destruction, why is it now that he finally lands on earth? Could it be a coincidence that he landed on earth at this time? Like Supergirl? Something's not right.'

Batman eyes narrowed even further, realizing that something wasn't right.

"Talk to him." He suddenly said.

Superman looked at him as he once again raised an eyebrow at Batman.

"Ask him who he is and what he's doing here, we can start from there." Batman explained, his eyes never once leaving Lor's figure.

Superman nodded as he turned towards the flying Lor who was growing irritated at their unresponsiveness.

"Hell-" Superman was about to start talking when he was cut off by a person talking over him.

"L-Lor?" Kara called out as she walked out from behind the adults and towards Lor with shaky steps, stuttering and unsure if it was really him.

The adults all looked at Kara, shock and surprise written all over their face.

The cousin of Superman who was usually emotionless and lifeless was finally showing signs of emotions on her face.

Throughout the years, they had tried to get to her and understand why she was like this, especially Superman but unfortunately, despite their efforts she wouldn't come clean.

They decided to wait till she was ready to talk to them.

Kara walked towards Lor with slow steps, Her face filled with all kinds of emotions that showed her current emotional state.

Sadness, relief, anger, pain, joy, surprise, and obsession were just examples of what she was currently feeling.

She had all kinds of emotions written all over her face

but what was most evident...

Was none other than happiness.

Lor, who was currently looking at the Justice League members, preparing to listen to their word's, turned toward's the direction of the person who had just talked.

He saw a gorgeous girl who had beautiful blonde hair and light blue eyes with tears streaming down her face, walking toward's him.

He had a confused expression on his face for a second before a surprised look immediately replaced it.

He had recognized Kara.

"K-Kara? Is that you?" Lor asked, surprise written all over his face.

He couldn't believe that the once childish and cute girl had grown into such a beautiful and mature girl overnight.

It was just a few minutes ago that he last saw her after all and then, she was just a cute little girl...

Not the sexy hot babe she currently looks like now.

So it's quite obvious why he would be surprised to see her sudden change.

Kara's face immediately brightened up considerably the moment she saw that Lor recognized her.

That means that she was right and the person in front of her was really Lor.

The Love of her life.

"Yes, Lor! It's me! Kara!!" She immediately yelled as she flew toward's him, no longer hesitating to approach him the moment she confirmed it was really him.

"Wait, Kara! We don't know if it's-" Superman was saying, trying to stop her but she had already acted before he could stop her.

She slammed into Lor as she hugged him with all her might, a happy and joyful smile on her face.

She was so happy that she even forgot to control her strength, something that would have killed a regular human or a non-solar powered Kryptonian a thousand times over.

Fortunately, Lor was none of the above and was able to take her full strength with no problem.

"Kara, is that really you?" Lor asked as he and Kara floated down, still surprised to see her sudden change.

"Yes, Lor. It really is me, how can you not tell who I am by now?" Kara asked as she kept hugging Lor, feigned indignation on her face.

"Sorry about that, it's just that your new look is too surprising." Lor said as he and Kara finally landed on the ground, slowly but surely getting used to her current look.

He smiled as he stared down at her, familiar memories flashing across his mind.

'Right, even if her looks have changed, she's still the same Kara I once knew, the same person I grew up with, that's all that matters.' He smiled warmly at her as he hugged her back, causing Kara to smile and shudder a little at the long lost warmth from Lor.

She really missed him a lot.

*SWOOSH*

Suddenly, a blue and red blur appeared behind Lor, a hand then reached out to his shoulder before turning and sending Lor flying back away from Kara.

"Stay away from her!" Superman yelled at Lor, his body still in the position of throwing.

The blue and red blur that just attacked Lor had been Superman, he couldn't help but worry about Kara as the way she was acting was completely unlike the way she usually acts.

He was worried that Lor was controlling her and thus, attacked him to protect her from him.

*BOOM*

Lor landed harshly on the ground as he skidded across the ground for a few seconds before stopping.

He slowly stood up before turning towards the person who attacked him, his face cold and emotionless, completely different from the previous warm expression he once had.

Not a single scratch on him.

He saw Superman standing in front of Kara, warily staring at him and surrounded by the teenagers who had come to provide backup to Kara.

They stood together with Superman beside them and Kara behind them.

"Stop, Kal! What are you doing?! That's Lor you're hurting!" Kara immediately yelled at Superman, her face cold and full of anger.

She would have already attacked him for daring to attack Lor but she stopped herself since from what she could see, Lor was okay and not injured.

She then turned towards the teenagers who were ready to go against Lor and put him down.

"And you guys! Don't you dare touch him! Otherwise, you won't like what I'll do to you next." She said angrily, a cold glare staring straight at them.

!!

Everyone, except Lor, stared at her with a surprised expression once again.

They had never seen her so cold and full of emotions. She was usually never like this and was always calm, keeping to herself and once in a while, talking when she had to.

Just what happened to her to cause such a drastic change?

They all thought as the teenagers put down their guard and moved back, deciding to listen to her and see what happens.

Superman turned towards Kara, a considerable amount of shock and surprise on his face compared to the others.

"What do you mean Kara? He was clearly trying something on you so why are you defending him?" Superman asked, confusion and worry on his face.

Had the mind control gone so deep already?

"What do you mean trying something on me? He's my friend and someone innocent! You just attacked him for no reason Kal!!"

Kara yelled at him with anger dripping from her voice. She was still visibly upset with Kal for attacking Lor.

Everyone had a surprised expression as they picked out a crucial information from Kara's word's.

"Friend? What do you mean by friend?" Superman asked as a surprise expression once again appeared on his face.

"Is ther-"

"Superman, not now. Don't forget we have a potential enemy in front of us."

Superman was saying until batman abruptly cut him off, his tone serious and commanding.

He had been staring and watching Lor ever since he stood up, watching him for any sudden movement.

It was when he saw Lor look towards them with a cold expression and glowing red eyes that he knew a battle was coming.

Superman stopped and looked at Kara's angry face, he wanted to say more but knew that Batman was right and this wasn't the right time.

He had already demonstrated a behavior unbefitting of a leader all because of Kara.

The least he could do was stop when asked.

He sighed as he turned to look at Lor, taking note of his glowing red eyes which made his eyes widen in surprise yet again.

"Don't tell me...he has already unlocked his abilities despite being here for less than a day?" Shazam said in surprise, readying himself for a fight.

The other adults also prepared themselves, getting in their respective stances.

"It seem's so." Batman said with a serious look, his eyes narrowing at Lor, seemingly trying to look through him and figure out all his secret's.

The teenagers also prepared themselves for a fight, ready to pounce at Lor at any moment with Superboy staring at Lor more intensely compared to the others.

"I'll take him. Don't interfere."

Superman said with a serious face as he stared at Lor. He walked towards Lor, his hands clenching into a fist.

"Superman, this isn't the tim-"

Batman spoke, trying to dissuade Superman from his decision until Superman cut him off.

"No, he just awakened his abilities now, he's not yet strong enough to even handle Kara. I'm sure I can take care of him. After that, we can ask all the questions we want."

Superman said as he kept walking towards Lor, the same serious look on his face.

Batman didn't say anything more, already preparing to provide backup to Superman should he need it.

As Superman walked closer and closer to Lor, Lor kept a cold expression on his face, having his own thoughts in his mind.

'So that's how strong Superman is when he's holding back...Quite the grip he got there.' Lor thought as he placed his left hand on his right shoulder, massaging and twirling it.

'Now, that I'm done analyzing the situation, I can see that Superman is all grown now, meaning that I missed exactly thirty three years of solar radiation absorption. Quite the amount of time I lost.'

Lor thought, not even upset at the absurd amount of time he lost.

Lor knew that if he had been absorbing solar radiation for this amount of time then he would have been an absolute menace, not even Darkseid's avatar would be able to stand one blow from him.

Seeing that he's not upset about losing so much power just means he has a way of getting back that amount of power.

Without waiting for thirty years.

'And it seems the Justice league is already established and in full swing.' Lor thought as he glanced at all the wary Justice League members.

'And seeing Aqualad, Kid Flash, Robin and Superboy with no Miss Martian or Artemis, just means I'm in the beginning of the series. It could also be that Miss Martian and Artemis are just not around and are busy somewhere but Superboy's torn white solar suit just goes to show that the likelihood of me being somewhere near the middle or ending of the series is very low. Superboy never liked any reminders of his time in Cadmus facility if I remember correctly.'

Lor thought, analyzing and coming up with different conclusions and answers.

'Although...I don't know or recall who this extra member is but judging from her clothes similarity with Superboy's and the fact that she's standing on top a destroyed area then I can conclude that it's highly likely that she's a clone like Superboy.'

Lor thought as he glanced at Power Girl who was also weirdly staring at Lor's face, seemingly tranced by it.

'I'll leave that for another time. Now to the more important things...Kara and what happened during the planet's explosion.'

Lor thought as his eyes finally revealed a trace of emotion on it.

'Judging by how grown Kara is and taking inspiration from the comics I've read...then it's quite possible that what happened to Kara in the comics happened to me too.'

'I...might have been thrown into the Phantom Zone hence why I came so late to earth and why Kara seems grown, she might have been released even earlier than me.'

'But it's also quite possible that I'm in another timeline or universe but if so then how does Kara know me? *Sigh* I'm just overthinking thing's, I'll know when I ask her or the Justice league.'

Lor thought as he released a sigh, frustrated a little at his current situation.

It wasn't supposed to go like this. He was supposed to get to earth at the same time as Superman or even earlier and then absorb solar radiation for year's, waiting for the time when the Young Justice series finally begins.

Not waste thirty years of his time, possibly trapped.

He glanced at the approaching Superman, taking note of the serious atmosphere surrounding him.

'If I was a regular Kryptonian then I might have been worried about going against Superman since I missed so much time I could have used to absorb solar radiation.'

Lor dusted the shoulder pads on his armor of any dust's that may have landed on him when he was thrown by Superman and looked at Superman with a very cold expression, his eyes glowing red with power.

'But with [Superior Reactive Adaptation and Evolution]...'

His eyes glowed even more, giving him the impression that he was about to release his heat vision.

'He's screwed.'

Hope y'all are doing okay.

I'm doing pretty good and I'm back for y'all after a week break from last chapters crazy length.

Hope y'all are ready for me now, lol.

This chapter was pretty good, not the best I've done but still good nonetheless.

We saw the reactions of Superman and Kara to Lor's existence, especially Kara's.

She was hella happy with Lor's survival. A little too much I suppose.

We also saw the reactions of the justice league to Lor's identity as a Kryptonian and although, it's not much as Kara or Superman, it was still something.

We'll get a proper reaction from them in the next chapter or after it.

Superman also seemed extra protective of Kara, even going as far as attacking Lor.

Superman was always the type of guy to protect his family no matter what.

Though, a little overprotective when it comes to Kara, lol.

And it seems Power Girl's got something for Lor. No worries, it's not love at first sight or something like what I did with Kara or Ariella.

It's just intense attraction.

Power Girl will be attracted to Lor heavily but that's all it is, it won't turn into Love until a real relationship develops between them.

This is for y'all who want a real developing relationship. It's also gonna be like that for the other girls after this, except Miss Martian.

Hmm, seems like things didn't go right between Lor and the Justice League.

Lor and Superman are about to fight, looks like all hope for a peaceful interaction between them just left the chat.

Or did it?

I guess we'll have to see next chapter.

I'm so excited, it's like Superman VS doomsday all over again.

Except, Lor is a far bigger threat than doomsday ever could be.

Also, I felt like I didn't showcase the true behavior's of the characters or maybe I didn't portray them properly. Especially Superman, I felt like I did him dirty in this chapter.

Hopefully, I get him and the other leaguers characters properly next time.

Next chapter is gonna be a fight between Superman and Lor. The whole chapter isn't just gonna be about the fight but it's also gonna be a little of something else.

Hopefully, I do good in it.

This chapter was pretty long, not as long as the last chapter or the last four chapters but it's size is still pretty huge.

Yh, it's way smaller but this is just how the chapters have been since the beginning, the last four chapters just threw the story off it's rhythm.

The next few chapters are probably gonna be like this, the next time a special chapter comes, is probably gonna be after 5 or 10 chapters.

Sorry about that.
