3 Chapter 2

One day later...

As me, Kaldur, Robin, Wally and SuperBoy arrived back at Mount Justice we were greeted by BatMan, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Martian Man-hunter, and Red Tornado. "From now on you six will be going on covert missions but until your first deployment stay put." "Wait six?" Robin questioned. Batman and Green Arrow stepped aside to show us a green skinned female with red hair and freckles. "I would like for you all to meet Martian Man-hunter's niece, Miss Martian."

As everyone else went over to greet Miss Martian SuperBoy and I stood to the side. SuperBoy looked at me and asked: "You're not going to meet her?" I unfolded my arms and walked up next to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm more of a choosey anti-social but you enjoy your time with the others." "You sure?" "She had her eyes on you since she stepped in the cave. Just don't be too hard on her plus she's not my type. I find foreign accents more attractive later supes." I walked outside and breathed in the warm summer cool night air as I watched the water crash onto the beachfront.

"Are you not interested in team building?" I looked back slightly to see Kaldur. "Naw, it's not that. I'm just selectively social." "I understand you're not trusting very easily but you're part of a team and we need cohesion to better our efforts on missions." I sighed and turned to Kaldur. "Kaldur, I respect you and I trust you and the others for saving me but I don't trust her she's hiding something." "We all have something we do not wish to acknowledge from our past but it's having bonds and friendships can we acknowledge our past accept it for what it was but it doesn't define who we will be in the future."

I just stayed silent as I let Kaldur's words sink in. "I'm not forcing you to come join us on a picnic. However, I want you to feel as if you have family and friends that you can truly protect and count on. Just think about joining us if you want that bond we'll be in the common area if you wish to join us. Kaldur walked back in the cave and sighed heavily. (I just don't trust myself and I can't risk hurting you all so I must keep my distance for the betterment of the team.)

Meanwhile in the far distance... (Did the results come back on Arctora'hm?) (Yes Batman, it seems he is half Atlantian but he's also...) (Understood, I'll be sure to keep an eye on him. Batman out.) As I began to walk by in the cave that's when M'gann and Wally came up to me and asked if I wanted to join in their game night. I stared at them for a moment then I looked over at Kaldur and Robin and back over to them. "Sure, what are we playing?"

(Robin, come in Robin.)  Robin stepped away and answered his radio. (Robin here, what's wrong Batman?) (It's about Arctora'hm and this is highly classified and a need to know bases. He's half Atlantian and...) (WAIT WHAT!) We all turned to Robin. "Sorry, everyone just got something important with Batman to handle back at Gotham. I'll see you all tomorrow!" Robin ran to the Zetatube and was Zeta'd back to Gotham. "He sucks at lying." I commented. "I know right how are you The Batman's protege but suck at lying?" Wally agreed as he stuffed his face with some cheesey chicken whizzes. "Wally, before you even touch those dice go wash your hands." I said sternly. "Jeez, I don't know who's scarier you or Batman."

Wally zipped away. "Well, while he's gone who wants to go next?" M'gann asked. "I shall go next." Kaldur replied holding his hand out to receive the dice. I smiled slightly as I watched everyone enjoying themselves that is until Wally put his wet hands on my neck. I growled lowly and clenched my fist. "Wal-ly." "Oh come on Tora don't be so up-tight." "Get back here! "Whoa-oh time to make like speedy Gonzales and get out of here." I began to chase Wally around the common area for the past 10 minutes as everyone laughed at our dynamic I finally caught Wally and grabbed him by his shirt. I growled annoyed as I lifted him up off the ground.

That's when M'gann and SuperBoy separated us M'gann lifted me up in the air with her telepathy and SuperBoy picked Wally up and hoisted him over his shoulders. "Alright; boys break it up." M'gann said as she let me down. "Sorry about the unwanted telepathy lift but I couldn't let you kill Wally we need him. I laughed slightly and thanked her that's when Kaldur came up to us. "Excuse me, M'gann I need to borrow Tora real fast." "No problem, just keep him away from Wally for another minute." "Look, I know you don't have anywhere to go and since you're Atlantian I was going to ask my king if he can take you in if you're willing to join me in Atlantis." "I'll think about it. For now I'll just stay at the cave." "If that is what you wish my friend."

Kaldur had begun to Zeta to Atlantis but not before I gave him a slight goodbye as I walked over to the couch and flopped down in it as I groaned with exhaustion. "Hey, you okay?" I looked over to see M'gann with a concerned look on her face. "Yeah, I'm fine what's it to you!?" I snapped coldly. M'gann stepped back with a frightened expression on her face. I sighed regrettably and told her I'm sorry. "It's just that I'm unstable and angry and confused and hurt now look I know you're hiding something but it's none of my business but what I can tell you is that I won't trust you so easily like the others I'll be watching you."

M'gann just stood there taken aback and flew away crying. "Ugh, I'm such a screw up." I went after M'gann to apologize when SuperBoy stopped me. "I think you've apologized enough just go somewhere else that's not around her or me right now." "I understand Connor but let me explain." "Get out now!." Connor said protectively and slightly irritated.
