38 Chapter 38: Red Clouds

True to his words, Sora only gave him thirty seconds before he barged into the room on the top floor.

He was tempted to wait an extra ten seconds to increase the man's fear but he decided against it. That wasn't what he was here for…not this time.

"Itsuki Kenji…" Sora started as he entered the room that housed the man who backed himself into the corner of the room.

"I have some questions and something tells me you have the answer to those questions. Will you answer or will I have to extract it myself? The choice is yours." Sora finished, walking towards him as the man raised a gun to aim at him.

Sora looked on as silence reigned in the room. Sweat poured down Kenji's face as he saw Sora's lack of reaction to facing a firearm.

'Is he an idiot? I just faced his entire crew that had guns and two enhanced human and he thinks he can scare me with a pistol?' Sora thought with a raised brow.

The man shakily held the gun pointed at him for a few moments before he dropped his hand in fear. He let the gun clatter to the floor as the shaking refused to stop.

"W-what do you w-want from me?" Kenji stammered out.

"I don't like repeating myself." Sora stated bluntly as the man stiffened in fear.

"I have questions that you have answers to. Does this look familiar to you?" He asked the man, drawing the sketch of the button pin from his inventory.

The man looked at it, his eyes widening a bit more as he exclaimed.

"I-I don't know anything about that! I swear!" He proclaimed only for Sora's eyes to narrow.

"I'll ask you again and I want you to think carefully before you answer." Sora started, his voice so calm that it sent chills down the man's spine.

"What do know about this?" He asked slowly as the man gulped audibly.

The room was silent for a while except for the heavy breathing and panting from Kenji.

"So you don't want to answer. Oh well…" Sora started, his eyes turning crimson as he stepped closer to him.

"W-wait! I'll talk! I'll talk!"Kenji screamed as he saw Sora's eyes change.

Sora stayed silent, waiting for him to continue but left his sharingan on.

"That badge can only be found in one place in Tokyo, YoshiTech." He revealed.

"YoshiTech? That tech company that opened up a few years ago." Sora questioned as Kenji nodded fiercely.

"Yeah! That badge is only worn by the senior staff of the firm. It is their way of identification." He answered only to continue at Sora's urging look.

"There aren't too many people that are qualified to be senior staff. They do a lot of the company's dirty work and have access to restricted files and locations." He finished with a sigh of relief.

"If I were you I'd stay clear of them. They're bad news." He added.

Sora had a contemplating look on his face before he spoke again.

"Is that why you were so afraid when you saw it?" Sora said only for Kenji to shoot up again.

"Those guys don't care who you are! Anybody that makes problems for them disappears without a trac-!" *Smack!*

"Don't raise your voice to me." Sora said as the man nursed his bruised face.

"Are they bad news for me or bad new for you?" He asked rhetorically as the man's eyes widened.

"For you to have this kind of information isn't easy meaning you must have had some dealings with them or at least some experience."

"You're afraid that pointing me at them would send them coming for you once they found out that you sold them out." Sora analyzed coldly as the man tried to move back but the wall behind him allowed no further movement.

"H-how did yo-"

"Don't worry about them coming after you. You won't be around to have such concerns." He said lightly, the man understanding his implication as he screamed in fear.

"B-but you said y-you'd let me go if I answered your questions!" He claimed as Sora looked at him with a raised brow.

"I don't recall making such a promise. Do you think I haven't noticed what you're trying to do?" Sora asked as the tomoe in his sharingan spun menacingly.

"From the moment I entered this room you've been trying to invade my mind but it's not working." He continued as the man looked as if he could die of a heart attack.

When he got to the front of them room, he felt something brushing on the walls of his mind. It felt like something or someone was trying to invade his mind or at least affect it.

With Art of the Mind, his mental shields were easily strong enough to neutralize such threats. It didn't take a genius to realize who was the perpetrator.

It explained how Kenji was able to easily keep all his men in line.

"Why don't you have a taste of what it feels like. Don't blame me if I'm not gentle." Sora finished as the man pulled out another gun from his back and aimed at him as fast as he could.

Just before he could pull the trigger, his body froze as he fell under the effects of Sora's sharingan.

His fingers lost strength as the gun fell to the floor while his arms dropped to his sides. Sora sifted through the man's mind, confirming or discrediting anything that he said that might have been false.

Within minutes, he was done with his 'search'. His eyes seemed to flow a bit before they reverted to their normal black color.

He watch with cold indifference as Kenji robotically picked up the gun from the floor and aimed it at his head.

Without any form of hesitation or doubt, he pulled the trigger, sending a bullet through his brain.

The glassy look in his eyes disappeared as it turned lifeless. His body backward to the floor, his blood painting the ground.

Taking a step forward, Sora bent to the now dead man, taking the ring off his growing cold finger.

[Object: Ring Of Telepathy]

[Effect: Allows the wearer limited power over the mind.]

[Note: It was crafted many years ago by a member of a chinese sorcerer group called the red dawn.]

His eyes shot open as he read the last line of the description.

'No! No! It can't be!" He thought as the words registered in his mind.

'The Akatsuki!'
