a Conversation between Father and Son ( Edited )

Daniel smiled and waved his hand, cleaning all the dirt in the room as well as both his and Dorothy's dirty bodies. After magically making the bed clean, he gently laid Dorothy on it and pulled the blanket over her while helping her put on her pajamas.

He, too, wore a white royal dress adorned with phoenix and dragon carvings. Before leaving the room, he kissed Dorothy on the forehead. However, he didn't notice the beautiful smile that appeared on her face after that kiss.

Naturally, Dorothy was very tired, but she had not fainted. She wanted to see her young master's attitude toward her. When she realized that her young master intended to leave her in such a state, she felt very sad. But when Daniel kissed her on the forehead before leaving, she became elated, her heart beating like a high school girl in love.

After leaving his room, Daniel walked towards his father's office. As he walked through the hallway, although he didn't show any emotion on his face, he felt great happiness inside.

"Is that the young prince? He is as handsome and aloof as ever," remarked one of the female maids who was cleaning.

"Aww, the young prince is amazing. I wish I could have his child," another female maid said.

"Hmph, you can only dream of something like that," a woman coldly replied to the latter.

Of course, Daniel could easily hear such conversations, but he didn't care. Perhaps those protagonist types would be happy and proud to hear such things, but it held no value for him.

Anyway, this was not the first time that he had fan girls. Even on Earth, many girls liked him or at least appreciated his handsomeness and wealth. But these maids were a bit more extreme. Normally, they should hate him because of his cold and cruel personality, but it seemed they had fallen even more in love with him.

Daniel only thought of a few answers to his speculation, and his body shivered. He quickly stopped thinking. After a few minutes of walking, he reached his father's office, guarded by two soldiers radiating a powerful aura.

Normally, the palace would be bustling, with various generals and commanders visiting the emperor. However, it was night now, and the palace was relatively quiet.

Daniel approached the door of his father's room, and the two soldiers bowed when they saw the Imperial Crown Prince. Daniel simply nodded in acknowledgment and knocked on the door.

"Come in," a commanding voice from inside the room allowed him to enter.

Upon entering the room, Daniel noticed a luxurious shelf of books in the left corner and a window with a breathtaking view of the night sky in the right. In the middle of the room, an ancient-looking desk was covered with various papers. Seated behind the desk was a middle-aged man with short black hair, blue eyes, and a stubble.

Even though his aura was concealed, a sense of domination and awe surrounded him. There was a unique aura that he didn't attempt to hide, one that reflected the greatness of the emperor.

The man behind the table was Daniel's father, the most powerful living being in the world, William Hudson. William raised his head and looked at Daniel with his piercing blue eyes.

Daniel felt as if his very soul and all his secrets were laid bare under that gaze. He could only think, "Too terrifying!"

William stood up from his chair and approached Daniel. William, towering at 190 cm, was taller than Daniel. Both of them had smooth and cold faces, and their eyes met.

For a few seconds, a suffocating and icy atmosphere enveloped them until, unexpectedly, William hugged Daniel.

"Haha, son, as expected, you're quite the playboy, just like your father," William chuckled.

Being hugged by his father made Daniel feel somewhat suffocated. "I didn't do anything special, Father," he replied.

"That moment when you closed the door and asked Dorothy with those cold eyes, 'Do you love me?' was impressive. Maybe I should try it sometime," William, who had suddenly discovered a new way to win women's hearts, was amused.

Of course Daniel knows that his father was just joking.

At this point, Daniel wanted to throttle his father, but of course, his father had witnessed Dorothy's confession, not their intimacy.

Daniel had made sure that no one could observe what transpired between him and Dorothy. Despite the protective spells in his room, they couldn't shield against the eyes of a Magic Emperor or a Sword Emperor. He had to use a special treasure to prevent any spying.

"So, Father, can you let me go?" Daniel said, still not feeling comfortable. He never liked being hugged by men, even if it was his father.

"Alright, alright, hahaha, you're truly something. Perhaps I should take some lessons from you," William agreed, releasing Daniel while still laughing.

Freed from the embrace, Daniel took a deep breath and asked, "So, Father, why did you want to see me?"

As William returned to his desk and sat down, he gestured for Daniel to sit as well. Daniel didn't decline and settled into the chair across from the desk.

"Do you know what event is happening in three days?" William inquired.

Daniel thought for a moment but couldn't recall any significant event. It was still some time before either his or his sister's birthday.

"I thought as much," William said with a smile. He then produced an invitation and handed it to Daniel.

Seeing the signature on the invitation, Daniel recalled what his father was referring to. "The birthday of the youngest Schneitz family member, right?" Daniel smirked and whispered.

The Schneitz family was a famous, influential, and wealthy business family residing in one of the free zones known as the Laden Zone.

"That's correct. You should attend the birthday party with your sister. She has gone to Roland City to visit her friend, so find her there and then proceed to Laden with her," William explained.

Daniel pieced together everything by reviewing his memories from the original story timeline. In that timeline, Daniel Hudson didn't attend this party, considering it a waste of time. However, his sister encountered danger on her way back from Roland City and was rescued by the protagonist.

Daniel pondered for a moment and realized he had no reason not to attend. However, he decided he would leave early in the morning to ensure his sister and the protagonist wouldn't cross paths.

Of course, it wasn't only about his sister; it was also about the Schneitz family. While they might not be on par with the imperial families, they held considerable power and influence. Establishing a good relationship with them could yield many benefits in the future.

"I understand, Father. I'll leave tomorrow," Daniel said, placing the invitation in his pocket.

"Really? You're going?" William was surprised. He had been quite certain that his son would decline an invitation to such a party. However, it seemed that Daniel had genuinely decided to attend.

"Of course, Father. As the crown prince of the empire, fostering a positive relationship with the Schneitz family can only be beneficial, right?" Daniel smiled and replied.

"Indeed, it can be. But I didn't expect you to agree," William responded.

"Well, Father, if you have nothing else for me, I should return to my room," Daniel said and left the room without waiting for his father's response. He headed back to his room with a sigh, feeling quite exhausted.

Upon returning to his room, he found Dorothy sleeping peacefully, resembling a fairy in slumber. Daniel put on his nightgown, then got into bed, holding Dorothy in his arms with her head resting on his chest.

If someone had been observing closely, they might have noticed Dorothy's cheeks blushing. However, the protagonist was oblivious, having fallen asleep.
