15 Chapter 15: The First Steps of Modernization

Ferdinand was passing through the corridors of the Royal Palace, taking with him several papers that were being held by one of his arms, with the objective of reaching his father's office.

When he got close to the office door, he knocked on the door and waited a moment, when he heard his Father telling him to come in.

When Ferdinand walked into the office, he saw Johan finishing up signing some papers before focusing on his son.

"Thank you for coming, Ferdinand, take a seat" Johan said as he pointed to the chair facing him.

Ferdinand nodded and went to the chair, sitting down and looking into his father's face.

"As you know, Dacia is lately going through a Modernization process, as you were the one who gave the ideas for the creation of an Organic Government, I was wondering if you had any Economic Ideas." Johan said as he looked seriously into Ferdinand's eyes.

Ferdinand seeing this was grinning evilly in his mind, this was an act of trust, showing that Johan can entrust minor or even important Government matters to him in the future.

Ferdinand wasted no time placing the documents he was holding onto Johan's desk, who raised an eyebrow before picking up one of the documents and starting to read.

"These are the plans I created to create the foundations of the Dacian Industry, in addition to focusing on the modernization of the country" Said Ferdinand while looking seriously at his father.

"I made these plans a long time ago, so I was perfecting and studying even more economics subjects to try to help you" Ferdinand continued just to see Johan with a raised eyebrow as if asking how he came up with such plans.

Hearing such a response from Ferdinand, Johan nodded seriously and returned to reading through all the documents, his son waiting patiently.

30 minutes after Johan read all the documents that Ferdinand wrote, he looked at his son and started talking.

"Ferdinand...did you really create those plans?" Johan asked with a certain astonishment, the plans were very detailed and explained each step that should be taken in that Economic Plan.

Creation of Modern Roads, plans for the creation of Steelworks, focusing on the creation of Railway Lines across the country for both economic and military use, everything was perfectly detailed.

"Yes Father, why? Don't you believe I could have written this because I'm just a Child?" Ferdinand asked seriously as he looked at Johan.

"I-It's not that Ferdinand, I know you're smart and mature...even too much for your age, but these plans are really well made." John replied.

"But, Ferdinand, these projects that you've done, while they are great, most of them are very expensive, with the only viable projects at the moment being the creation of Railway Lines and the creation of Base Industries like Steel." Continued Johan while pointing to some of the Documents, what he said was valid, Dacia was not yet a rich country.

Ferdinand nodded, even if they had oil it didn't mean they would be extremely rich overnight, but it would start to give more money to the Royal Family, i.e. the Government, which would then be used to invest more in the country.

"Another thing I've seen that I'm worried about...Forced Labor?" asked Johan with skepticism and concern.

"Yes Father, think with me, hundreds if not thousands of people who are against the Regime will be sent to prisons, which will literally be full, we would also have to feed that many people, so why not use that manpower? we could make them pay for their crimes, Mainly the Socialists and Communists who were put behind bars" Ferdinand answered as clearly as possible, he knows that for some Forced Labor was horrible, but he didn't care at all.

It would only be Traitors, Reds, and Criminals who would do this, if ever innocents happen to be put to such a thing, Ferdinand will put a bullet through the heads of the guilty he put in.

Johan nodded upon hearing Ferdinand's response, he then sighed and said.

"I will speak to Prime Minister Iordanescu about these Economic Plans, as well as give you due credit for what you have done." Said Johan while tidying up all the documents.

Ferdinand nodded in agreement, he was then allowed to leave the office so he could return to Magical Training.

"Before you leave, know that in a few weeks, your mother's Family will be coming to Os" Johan said when Ferdinand opened the door and was about to leave.

Ferdinand upon hearing this turned serious and nodded before leaving the Office, leaving Johan alone, who took one of the documents Ferdinand gave him and reread it before sighing again.

"It's for Dacia's sake..." Johan says seriously as he prepares to summon Arthur and his Cabinet for a meeting.

'He's becoming relentless like his mother when it comes to the Reds and Criminals... I have to talk to her to see if she's teaching him something' Johan thought seriously before returning to sign some papers.

I was in my carriage with my Family, aiming to go to Os, it's finally time to meet my grandson.

Because of those Communist Bastards, our Family, along with what's left of the Russy Nobility, had to flee with everything of value we could take with us, while being hunted by these bastards.

My son and I have been with the rest of the Nobility strengthening ourselves, recruiting all those who were against the Communist Regime in the Federation, and arming them.

But in recent years things have turned unfortunately bad, our Cause has begun to split into various Factions, the most important being the Restorers and the "Republicans."

The Restorers wanted to restore the Tsardom in the Russy Federation, which was mainly supported by the Old Guard Nobles, as for the "Republicans", they wanted to create an Aristocratic Republic, this faction was the Nobles who were dissatisfied with the Imperial Family, who did not deal with the communists correctly when they were still small and could be killed quickly.

But one thing both Factions agreed on, was that they would bring back the power of the Russy Nobility and get the Fiefs back under their control, as well as execute everyone related to the Communists who brought about our disgrace.

Because of this, they both agreed to work together at least until they took power in the Federation, but when that was over, I'm sure there would be a lot of bloodshed.

I'm currently not supporting any side, I'll only go if my family gets a good book on that.

I just hope that my son-in-law can help the cause against the Reds, I heard that he managed to regain power in the country, that can help us a lot.
