21 Let's Meet Again in Saint Claire Academy

It was four in the afternoon and the old men were still enjoying their fishing session. All of them managed to catch a few fishes and started boasting to each other.

The children who accompanied their trip were also with them. Of course, there were exceptions which included Ciel's group and Ethan. They were having some afternoon snacks and the atmosphere was good.

Ethan stayed with Kate and didn't leave her side. The two of them talked about many things. Ethan shared stories about his childhood and Claire did the same. Kate also joined after Claire finished telling her story. She just didn't mention anything about what happened to her family.

However, she did tell Ethan, Claire, and Chloe, how she met Ciel. Kate portrayed Ciel as a knight in shining armor and Ethan unconsciously bit his lip while listening to her tale.

Chloe on the other hand was quite envious and jealous of Kate. She knew that there was a story as to why the girl was staying beside her Big Brother, but she didn't know how it happened. She felt a little bit of pity towards Kate when she discovered her living conditions before she met her Big Brother.

Chloe's eyes kept darting towards her big brother as Kate continued to sing him praises. When Kate reached the part of the story where Ciel kneeled in front of her like a prince, she went into a daze for a few seconds. After that, she covered her face with both hands. Chloe clicked her tongue as she saw Kate's ears reddened.

It seemed that remembering that scene made Kate remember how suave Ciel was. Especially the part when she asked her if she wanted to leave that dark and cold alley with him.

After her story ended, the group looked at Ciel. He had an awkward smile on his face. Kate exaggerated the part of her rescue. In truth, Ciel only ordered Heinz to beat up the men. In Kate's version of the story, Ciel was the one who had beaten up the human traffickers. His bodyguards only served as the cleanup group after the deed was done.

He was debating whether he should correct the misunderstandings or not. However, when he saw Chloe's starry gaze, Claire's approving look, Kate's infatuated glances, and Ethan's grudge filled stare, he swallowed back his words.

'I'll clear up the misunderstandings when Kate is not around.' Ciel compromised. He just didn't have the heart to tell the others that Kate went overboard with her story telling.

"Kate, I will also come to your rescue when you are in danger," Ethan said in a very serious manner. "I won't let anyone hurt you again. You can always count on me!"

"Um? Thank you?" Kate replied. She could tell that Ethan was serious, but she didn't know the reason why the boy in front of her suddenly made such a declaration. Still, she was touched and she rewarded Ethan with a very sweet smile that came from the heart.

Ethan took damage! It was very effective! The poor boy had no resistance to such sweetness and fell into a daze.

"If you have no place to go, you can come and stay with me." Ethan patted his chest. "I promise to care for you."

Claire and Chloe made a realization. They didn't have to be a genius to understand what was going on. Ciel averted his gaze. No one was able to see the expression on his face. Kate just went with the flow and nodded her head.

"Alright. I'll take your word for it." Kate said, casually. "When I become homeless again, I'll come and pester you."

She had a good impression of Ethan and was willing to become his friend. As for going to his home to stay with him, she had no intention of doing so. After all, She had no plans of leaving Ciel's side for the time being.

"Do you have any future plans?" Ethan asked enthusiastically. If he knew what Kate was planning to do in the future, he would do his best to find chances to meet up with her.

Kate crossed her arms over her chest and closed her eyes. She was deep in thought, but nothing came to mind. 'What are my future plans? Do I even have one?'

While she was busy thinking about her goals, Ciel decided to help and threw her a lifeline.

"She's going to enroll in Saint Claire Academy this year." Ciel answered in her stead. "She will be staying in the female dorms as well."

"Eh? I will?" Kate was dumbfounded. This was the first time she was hearing this information.

"Saint Claire Academy. You mean THE Saint Claire Academy?" Ethan gasped. "What a coincidence! I'm also planning to enroll there this year." He excitedly grabbed Kate's hand. "We will be in the same grade, I hope the two of us become classmates."

"Um?"

"Don't worry. No one will bully you while I'm around."

"Ok?"

Kate shot a helpless glance at Ciel, but the latter only smiled back at her. He mouthed the words "I will tell you the details later."

"Ethan, it's time to go." Mark called out from the distance and waved at his grandson. "Your Grandma will be worried if we come home late."

Ethan suddenly felt down. It was as if his world lost all its colors. He didn't realize that he was still holding Kate's hand. Kate's hands were very soft and Ethan felt that he couldn't bear parting with them. However, he knew that if he didn't let go now, the girl in front of him might get the wrong idea.

After reluctantly releasing her hand, he gave Kate a determined gaze. "Let's meet again in Saint Claire Academy."

"Alright."

"Promise me?"

"Um?"

"It's not easy to enroll in Saint Claire Academy. It is the most popular school in the UK because only the children of the Elite Families are accepted there," Ethan said. "Since you are not the child of a family with a big background, your only choice is to take the entrance exams."

Ethan glanced in Ciel's direction. "The entrance exam is the hardest exam in the country. The exam of the other top universities couldn't even compare to it.Those who successfully pass this test become the "Scholarship Students" of the school. They don't have to pay the tuition fee. All their food, lodging, and expenses would be shouldered by the academy."

Ethan's gaze returned to Kate's bewildered face. "That's why, promise me. Promise me that you will pass the entrance exam of the academy."

"Don't worry. I will easily pass that exam." Kate patted her modest chest. "I may not look like it, but I'm smart you know!"

Ciel pretended to look at the sky. For some reason, he found the clouds floating in the distance very interesting. He couldn't look at Kate right now, he was afraid that he wouldn't be able to stop the smirk that would appear in his face.

"Understood. I will also do my best to pass the regular exam." Ethan knew that the exams for the members of the Elite Families had a lower difficulty. However, he wouldn't take any chances. He would study hard in order to ensure that he passed the exam and meet Kate in the academy.

The young man clenched his fist and stared at Ciel who was busy looking at the clouds in the sky.
