196 For Within Their Intertwined Fingers, A Promise Exists

Kate watched Ciel's resigned expression with a smile on her face. After dinner, Chloe stuck to Ciel like glue. It was as if the younger girl was afraid that her Big Brother would once again be kidnapped by who-knows-what organization.

The adults seemed to share a tacit understanding and didn't break the two apart. When the clock hit nine in the evening, Ciel decided to return to his room to rest. He promised his parents and grandparents to give them a detailed explanation of what he experienced in the organization when morning came.

Kate returned to her room and decided to rest early as well. Tomorrow was Christmas Day and she was very excited to open up the presents under the Christmas Tree.

[Aren't you going to sleep in Darling's room?] Stella asked. [I'm sure that Chloe is already there.]

"Mayhaps," Kate replied.

[Seriously, are you going or not?]

"If I say I won't be going what will you do?"
