Silence

Rachael Point Of View:

The next morning, I dragged myself to the bathroom to get ready for school. More like getting ready for hell, and having a bitchy mood in the morning makes everything sour. I woke up with my phone at ten percent, and I thought I charged it. The next thing I know, I was running late after spending time in the shower - Actually, I fell back asleep when I was sitting on the toilet. Lastly, I rush out of my room as I tie my hair up.

"Rachael!" Mom called in the kitchen, "Don't forget -"

"I'm not hungry," I said, interrupting her, then my stomach grumbles. Fuck you.

Snatch my keys off the key holder then headed out to my car. Putting the gear on the reverse, and I was about to back up when I realize there's a car behind me. I turn around in my seat to see who's car it is - oh, Hannah's car, she's still here? I watch her getting out of her car and heading to my door.

"Baby, I'm picking you up," Hannah says with a smile, but I glare at her.

"Well, baby," I said sarcastically. "As you can see, I'm picking myself up today. Toodles!"

With that, I wave her off and about to back up but realize her car is still behind me. I look back at her, and she looks at me confused with her eyebrows narrowed.

"Ma'am, get your car off my driveway," I said with a smile, then clicked my tongue at her. "Giddy up, baby."

Hannah looks at me one last time before shaking her head and heads back to her car. After she backed up, she drove off to school, and I followed her behind. I was vibing to music throughout the whole drive to school and purposely parked far away from Hannah.

"Alright, time to go to school," I mumbled and head into the building. I look over my shoulder to see if Hannah is trying to find me. Nope, she's not.

The snow is up to my ankle from yesterday night, and the wind feels like it's going to chop me into pieces. It's so cold, and this is the reason why winter is not my favorite season.

"Good morning, Mason," I said joyfully and waving my arms above my head to get his attention. "How are you?"

Mason looked up from his phone, and slowly his smile widens when he sees me.

"Greeting to you, Rach. What's up with this energy?" He asks in confusion.

I shrug in response, "Eh, I was moody this morning, though I could cheer up somehow."

"I'm not complaining. It's been a while since you've got this energy. Ever since you started dating Hannah, your energy disappeared..." He said and mumbled the last part.

I look at him and then shrug once more, "Well..."

Mason nudges me with his elbow, "Hey, don't worry about it. Whatever happened between Hannah and you is none of my business. You're energetic now and happy. Lets' not ruin this moment."

He gives me a thumbs-up, and I did the same thing.

"Thanks."

"That's what friends are for, anyway, ready for class?"

I nod, and we departed our ways to class. I thought Hannah might come after me, but no, I don't see her anywhere. I hope I didn't anger her.

I walk to my first class alone, what a loner. I stop at the front of the classroom door, preparing myself to see Sam, hoping she's in class because she wasn't in class for multiple days already. The first month when I attend this school, I would head to my first class with Sam -

Samantha Baltimore.

The girl who's always in my mind even when I am with Hannah. I know that I don't want to be with Hannah because she makes me feel tired. She makes me feel weak, and -

"What are you? A twit?" said a cold, smoky voice behind me, making me shiver under my skin. I can't help but smile even though my back is facing them. The feeling of relief wash over me, oh god, how much I've missed her voice.

I turn around to face them, and with a smirk, I spoke softly, "Been a while, nice ass bitch."

She raises an eyebrow at me, "Get out of my way."

"Oh, yeah?" I said with a smile.

Her icy blue eyes pierced into mine, and I could feel my throat tighten as I keep our eye contact with each other. Her long blonde hair falls in front of her face as she looks down at me, but she brushes it back with her fingers. My back is against the door as I feel the solidness against me, and we're not even close to each other. Suddenly, she leans down to me, close enough when I can take in her scent.

"W-wha-what a-are y-you do-doing?" I ask nervously, feeling the knots in my stomach as we continue to look at each other. Her eyes are still tense with coldness, but her lips are bright pink. Oh gosh, I've been possessed by her. Ah, my heart.

"What happens to your little girlfriend of yours? Doesn't she usually drop you off for each class? She's usually all over you, giving you kisses, flowers, or whatever the shit she does." She whispers in irritation next to my ear, and I could feel myself heating up. How could she sound so hot and cold at the same time?

I took a deep breath, trying to calm down my heartbeat and the way she's making me feel right now. I can't resist her.

"I just need space from her," I said. Knowing that Hannah cheated on Samantha makes me lose my trust in Hannah, probably, because I know that I like Sam more than Hannah.

Sam's eyes widen in shock but quickly went back to her cold expression.

"Does that mean you two are over?" She questions in a serious tone, and I smile at her but frown.

"No, it means -"

"Break up with your girlfriend," She interrupts and then moves away from me.

I stood there looking at her, speechless, and what did she say?

"Break up with your girlfriend," She repeated herself, her eyes still on me until she looks at her watch.

"Now, get out of my way. I've got class," She said, pushing me to the side and walked into the room. When the door slams shut at the same time the bell rings, oh shit. Now I am late.

"And I am hungry," I mumble, then I smiled. I miss you a lot, Sam.
