11 Deal With This Alone

Rachael Point of View:

Meanwhile...

Fuck yeah! I look at my test score from AP Calculus, your girl just got an A on her first test. Fuck yeah!

"Damn, I'm smart," I say proudly and did a little dance. "Fuck yeah!"

"Idiot," Sophie says, slapping my arm as I continue my chicken dance in the classroom. "Almost everyone got an A on this test."

"Oh please," I snicker happily and continuing my chicken dance. "Let me be happy for once!"

"Stop doing that," Sophie let out a sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"Stop what?" I asked, swinging my arms around.

"Stop doing the whatever the fuck your doing," She says, physically slapping her forehead. "You look...stupid."

"Hey!" I gasp. "I just got an A, I'm smart."

"Class going to end soon," Sophie says packing her stuff in her backpack. "Come on, stop doing your...stupid dance, pack your things."

I look at her but continue my chicken dance. Fuck yeah!

Finally, I stop doing it when the teacher gives me a 'are you okay look'. I packed up my bag and kissed the A before stuffing it in my backpack.

"You're just too extra," Sophie smiles, patting me on the head like a child. "And cute."

"I'm not cute," I huffed. "I'm hungry, but I got gym next."

"You have it with Hannah, right?" Sophie asks.

"Hannah Horseman, who's about 5'9", hazel eyes, brown locks, pretty and nice," I described Hannah, and Sophie nods her head. "So then, yes, I do have gym with Hannah, I thought you know that already."

"I'm just making sure because I got a text from Austin that he didn't saw Hannah in class, so I'm wondering if you could check on Hannah after this class," Sophie says.

"Austin cares about Hannah?" I ask in shock. "Wow! Since when?"

Sophie slaps the back of my head, "You idiot, of course, Austin cares about Hannah. Sure they got a little disagreement, they always got each other back."

"Could've fooled me," I said earning another slap on my head. "Are you trying to give me a concussion?"

"No," Sophie says, scratching the back of her neck. "It's just...they've changed..."

Finally some tea from Sophie, when Mason left me hanging about those three besties. I've been wondering what happened.

"What happened?" I asked quietly.

"You know, how Austin and Hannah called each other out, cheater and player?" She says averting her eyes from me to the floor.

I nod.

"We used to be close, I mean we are close now, but not as close as we used to be," She let out a deep breath. "Mason is a good friend, he understands our friendship, but one day, he realized something is up and he told me."

"He told me that Austin is drifting away from us, I disagree with him at first because Mason was new to the group." Sophie continues, "However, I wished that I listened to Mason before and help Austin, unfortunately, I didn't listen. Austin started to be on his phone more, he started to sit with his teammates during lunch and...he keeps on avoiding me. He would start ghosting our texts, or anything to get his attention. We used to do things together, Austin and I are closed."

"What about Hannah?" I ask, trying to get more information cause this is really interesting.

"Hannah...she was in a relationship during that time, a really happy one actually," Sophie says with a smile. "I was proud of her, she finally found someone who she always wanted, someone who's angelic. Her girlfriend was so nice back then, she was open to anyone even if she has some problems she has to deal with alone. Hannah didn't pay much attention to Austin when she was in a relationship with her girlfriend during that time."

"So...Austin started to feel distant, Hannah was in a relationship, and Mason knows something is up with Austin, but you, on the other hand, couldn't see it until it becomes more direct," I say putting it into a summary. "Is he still distant?"

"Is he?" Sophie asks, looking into my eyes.

I took a moment to think, the way Austin would light up when he sees Sophie and how he acts toward this friend group, "No, he isn't distant...anymore."

"Thank goodness," Sophie says happily.

"So what happened between Austin and Hannah though?" I ask.

"Well...Austin became a player when he was distant from us, but then, Hannah got into cheer leading. " Sophie says tapping her chin. "She...I guess, got interested in one of the football players? Hannah was still in a relationship at that time, almost 2 years with her girlfriend, however, she cheated on her girlfriend for about 3 months... Unfortunately, it left her girlfriend devastated and changed a lot, into someone I don't know anymore. Austin got mad because Hannah slept with one of his buddies, and he got mad at his buddy cause they all know Hannah was in a relationship at that time."

"Damn..." Was all I could say, the drama here and the drama there.

"Yeah," Sophie says.

...Dong...Dong...Dong...

"Alright class is over ladies and gentlemen, have a nice day!" says our math teacher dismissing us.

"Finally class I over," I say opening the door for Sophie, who thanked me.

We saw Austin and his new girlfriend making out in the corner of the hallway, and Mason and his boyfriend walking towards us.

"Aw! My favorite gay couples," I say, faking my sniffs. Then I look at Austin, who's now flirting with his new girlfriend who's hair is dyed blonde. "Eh, it's the heterosexual couples."

"What is wrong with us?" Austin says, pulling his girlfriend closer to him.

I scrunch my face before heading toward the gym, "Nothing is wrong with you two."

As I made my way to changing room, the door of the janitor closet swung open smacking me straight into the face.

"What the fuck old man?!" I say rubbing my forehead. "Wait, Hannah?!"

"No no no, it's not what it looks like," Hannah says in a panic "I wasn't doing anything bad!"

"Sure"
