1 Big break

Today I'm supposed to meet with the band to discuss a song with them and the other producers.

The night was dark warm; I looked up seeing the bright red light of the sign, which said " restaurant open"

I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, this was my first time getting someone to produce for. I've been practicing for this for a while but it might be completely unexpected.

A sigh slipped my mouth as I grabbed my bag from the other side of the car seat adjusting parts of my outfit.

Entering the restaurant I glance over towards the larger table, everyone was already together drinking and laughing with each other. The smell of alcohol flows throughout the room causing me to slightly gag at the scent

Going towards the table I quickly chatted with one of the workers,

"Hello, I'm here for a table of 10?"

"10? Ah, yes hold on." They replied they looked a bit confused before they glanced at the paper "there's only one table of 10. Do you mean the one in the back?"

Taking a peep at the back table I saw Chris's lightly drunken blushed face chatting his mouth away, more than usual.

"Yes, that one," I replied.

She walked me over to the table, leaving soon as I got there. Once I was in the area I went looking for Chris at the unfamiliar crowded table. He sat at the end as I tapped his shoulder

"Hey, Chris. Uh, what's going on?" I asked a bit confused

Chris's glance turned to me as he grabbed my arm hugging it "hey, here so late?" His voice sounded as if he was being slightly sarcastic but I decided to answer anyways

"I kinda got lost on the way here," I admitted, feeling a flush of embarrassment in my bones.

"Haha, loser." He teased letting go of my arm.

"Anyways, you were taking so long so we decided to grab a meal and some drinks. Sorry 'bout that." He continued another sentence in the same breath

"Ah, forget that. Did you guys already start talking about the album?" I asked him, annoyance almost clear in my voice.

"Yeah, a little bit." He rubbed his chin in confession.

I open up a chair and sat in it as I felt a pair of eyes look towards me; glancing back I saw a pretty guy with loosely softly curled black hair. He also had a lot more style than all the other guys I've met in my life; wearing a loose fit black turtleneck a white shirt topped on top. Lastly, a beanie he managed to shove onto his curly hair

His hazel eyes looked at me intensely, it gave an odd feeling having someone more attractive than you glance at me so harshly.

"Hey, hey, Naomi pay attention to me!" Chris bugged me, pulling at my arm again

"Eh, what is it dumbass." I knocked his head playfully

"I was talking about the album! But you were spacing out. maybe I shouldn't repeat myself." He pouted his lips teasing me

"Ah, no I'm sorry," I begged. I needed that information so I could make more concept ideas

He let go of my arm as he chuckled.

"Were you looking at the new kid, hm?" He said loudly enough for everyone to hear. Luckily most people were too busy chatting among themselves to notice him, but I knew that dude heard.

I look towards him, his gaze wasn't on me; it was on his phone but now he's giving me that intense glare again.

I was uncomfortable with the current situation so I nudged Chris's shoulder.

"Fine fine." He sighed finally letting go of my arm.

I stretched out my arm free from that annoying bastards grasp, times like these I wonder why I'm friends with him.

"Okay, so this is V. Well that's his stage name haha. His real name Loren. And he's only 20, starting such a successful band in only 10 months! I'm jealous." Chris teased the guy across the table.

I laughed at the scene "hello V, I'm Naomi." I smiled at him.

"You could just call me Loren." He replied scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, smiling back.

Chris slammed his hands against the table as he complained "Hey! That's unfair! I've known you longer and you still make me call you V!"

"You're... different." He said, sounding like he was holding in from laughing at Chris's childish behavior.

They started bickering and making a scene as I chuckled; I was having second thoughts about this but maybe it was a good idea to listen to Chris for once.
