What happened?

"What happened???" Joyce asked Jayden.

"Hey! You go back today too??" Jayden asked her.

"I thought you were supposed to be back on Saturday?" Joyce asked Jay. Puzzled that she could meet him then.

"Well... Initially yeah... But my grandmother suddenly fell sick on Friday night. So, my parents postponed my flight to today since Sunday's was fully booked..."

"I see.... Hmmm...." Joyce thinking quietly to herself.

"Hmmmmm....? What's that hmmmm.... for?" Jayden teased her laughingly.

"Huh? Hmmmm Nothing... Nothing..." She smiled back at him and stupified. He was looking at her keenly and was quite close. His hazel eyes looked at her as if he knew what she was thinking about. So intense was his look that Joyce became restless and nervous all of a sudden.

"Hmmm..?" Jayden smiled inwardly when she looked awkward especially after he looked at her in that way.

"Okay. Let's get our boarding pass.." she quickly avoided his gaze and walked to the counter.

After they both get their boarding pass, they both went to pass the immigration and waited inside a cafe for their flight.

Joyce looked worriedly at the dark cloud hovering outside the window.

"Do you think our flight will be okay? That's one dark menacing cloud. It looked like a storm is brewing silently outside." Joyce commented to Jay.

"Don't worry. At most we'll be delayed. We'll be okay..."

He said assuringly.

"Hopefully...." she said while eyeing the storm doubtfully...

"What do you want to drink or eat? I'll buy for you.." Jayden offered Joyce.

Being a gentleman by nature, Jayden always acted very courteously towards girls in general. That's the reason why he was quite a popular male figure at his school and why many girls had a crush on him. He helped his female classmate moved tables when they needed to clean the classroom. Help them reached the higher part of the cupboards or bookshelves when they couldn't reach it by themselves. Since young, his parents always instilled that good habit and courtesy would make him a better and more respected person in the future. You can be wealthy but you won't be fully respected if you are mean to other people. Thus, he was always respectful to the elders and courteous to female genders. Thus earning himself the cool prince charming nickname at school. He couldn't care much about all these though because everything he did, he did it because he believed it was the right things to do and not for anybody's sake.

"Uh, help me order the iced-blended Hazelnut coffee and a blueberry muffin please?" she quickly told him and took out her purse. Before she could open the purse, he already went to the counter to make his order.

"How much is mine?" Joyce asked ready to take out her money.

"It's on me." Jayden gave the food and drink to her.

"You shouldn't do that!" Joyce wanted to refuse his offer because she understand that they both haven't made money of their own so he shouldn't treat her.

"It gives me pleasure to be able to treat and pamper you Joyce. So please just accept it" Jayden said to her seriously...

Then, without warning, Jayden took her hand...

Joyce's heart was beating furiously and she held her breath unconsciously... However, she didn't pull her hand away... just staring at their adjoining hand... speechless....

"Joyce, I'm sure you do know how I truly feel about you. We have talked to each other almost everyday. Although I never said out right how I truly feel but I already like you since the first time I saw you. You and your tomboyish manerism, your love for food and your kindness to your friend. I love everything about you. I truly hope that you'll give me a chance to show you how much I love you and in time, if you do feel the same, then we will officially date. Just give me a chance to show you..." Jayden confessed earnestly to Joyce.

She was getting dizzy... Breathe... Joyce. Breathe.....

"I... ah.... I..... ah...." She was dumbfounded. Her lips moved, but she was unable to make a sound. This was too sudden!! Her mouth was like the mouth of a little gold fishes, move but made no sound. it was actually quite funny to watch...

She looked around and see that nobody was paying attention to both of them but how come she felt like everybody is looking at her....

Though she felt nervous because of his sudden confession, warmth started to spread through her body. She was quite infatuated with him herself but dared not say anything. Afraid that she might misinterpreted his signals and feeling. That would be disasterous to their newly built friendship. However since now he confessed and she did feel the same way, she felt like spring has finally arrived...

She smiled unconciously....

Jay smiled when he saw her smiled. Because smiling means good right? At least she didn't reject him right away....

Joyce looked at him questioningly.

Jay suddenly laughed aloud. Everybody around looked at them. Joyce used her hand and covered Jay's mouth unconciously. Trying to keep his voice down. She never likes attention on herself.

Jay took her hand, looked into her eyes and said to her, "Please consider. okay?"

Blushing furiously, Joyce finally nodded her head.

Jayden was so happy that he hugged her tightly right then and there.

"Uh, I cannot breathe Jay." Joyce said without result.

Last Friday,

Sherly met Jayden at the hospital.

"Jay! How's grandma?"

"She's fine now. It's light stroke. Luckily we bring her here on time so nothing harmful has happened to her."

"Have you packed your bag for tomorrow?"

"Yeah.... Only a few things left. I am ready to go."

"Hmmm... Too bad Joyce couldn't join the flight tomorrow."

"Really? I thought you said Lily and Joyce will go on the same flight with us?"

"Yeah, but Lily told me yesterday that Joyce couldn't get tomorrow's flight. It was fully booked."

"I see... When will she go back to S country then?"

"I heard Lily said it's on Monday. Same flight, same hour."

"Hmmmmm..." Jayden thinking deeply....
