The First Date: Awkward

They entered the theater. The room was quite full already since the show is showing in 5 minutes. They searched for their seats.

"E5 and E6, must be the fifth row from the top. Let's go!" Jay looked at Joy and let her walked in front of him before following her.

"It's here...!" Joy pointed at the two seat.

But.... wait.... why was the seats have no arm - rest in between? Joy then looked at the other seats beside theirs.

Every two sets of seats will have no arm rest in between.

Soooooo.... This was the meaning of couple seats!!!!

Both Jay and Joy was looking around before somebody said,"Excuse me, please sit down. You are blocking my view."

"Oh, Sorry... Let's sit, Joy" Jay said to Joy and Joy silently sit down.

Both sat down... Each with their own thought.

Joy peeked at neighbouring couples on her left, the couples was hugging each other, talking intimately and laughing silently while looking at the screen in front of them.

As for the couple on Jay's right, They were kissing each other non-stop. Joy was fascinated with how they publicly showing their affection without caring about the people around them. She was still wondering about the couple when she realized Jay was looking at her.

"Popcorn?" Jay offered awkwardly. "to accompany the live show?" he tried to be funny...

"........." Joy looked down at the popcorn "sure..." and blushed when she suddenly realized that Jay had caught her looking at the kissing couple.

"I - I think we both misunderstood the meaning of couple seat... " Joy said while shaking her head.

"Yeah... It's funny that we didn't think about what couple seat really mean."

"Yeah..."

"I thought single seat mean we will sit at different place you know...." Jay explained clumsily "but... you know...."

"It's okay..."

"I... ah....., Phew..., I think I should stop explaining right? I think you understand what I am trying to say..." he sighed loudly...

"Don't worry, I get what you mean... I think that too..."

"Sorry about this...."

Then both of them looked at the kissing couple who were kissing more vigorously, they both looked at each other awkwardly and smiled nervously...

"Let's just concentrate watching the movie. It's playing now..."

"Yeah, let's!"

When they shifted in their seat their hand accidentally touch each other's hand. They both quickly pulled their hand away...

"So - Sooorrryyyyy..." they both stammered....

Who would have guessed, their going out together will end up being so vexing for both of them...

Jayden sent Joyce home after the movie. However, they have lost their relaxed attitude with each other. Ever a gentleman Jay wanted to make sure that she is safe since it was quite dark.

They both bid goodbye. The Jay took a taxi home.

Upon entering her house, Joyce squated down and cover her face with both hand thinking What an awkward date. Although it's not a real date, but still... Too bad it ended up soooo awkwardly... Actually she enjoyed her date with him a lot. Until they were in the theater.

Hope everything will be better next time... And Joyce went to her room to rest.
