Hope everything goes well (3)

Mrs Chua followed the nurses who brought Lily to the sterilized room, while Mr. Chua and Joyce waited for Dr.Goh to came out.

The operation room opened and Dr. Goh came out. Taking off her mask, he went straight to the awaiting Mr. Chua.

"Dr, how is the transplanting procedure?" Mr Chua asked anxiously.

"Don't worry, it's a success... However, this is just the beginning process. We still need to do this procedure for 2 - 3 weeks and Lily would be under extreme observation. If everything goes well, she should be able to leave the hospital and received treatments as an outpatient."

"How high is the chance of Lily getting better?"

"It depends on her immune system and health. However, since she is in her prime, her chances is higher. Let's just keep her in good mood because it's a crucial moment for her these three weeks." Dr. Goh told all of them reassuringly.

"Thank you Doctor." Joyce said gratefully.

"Yes, thank you very much Dr. Goh" Mr. Chua thanked him profusely. Feeling relieved, the three went to look for Lily and Mrs.Chua

Since it was weekend the next day, so Lily and Jayden was able to stay a bit later in the hospital.

After feeling like eternity, Lily finally woke up. She opened her eyes slowly. Her eyes temporarily blinded by the glaring light of the room. Although the room was dimmed, she was still affected by the light. She looked up groggily and found her mother's face staring at her tenderly fully covered in mask and hospital gown. It is to ensure she would stay sterilized in order to keep Lily safe.

"Hi, mom..." Lily smiled weakly.

"Hey baby.... How are you feeling?"

" I feel light-headed... And a little nauseated..." Lily admitted.

"Let me call the doctor for you okay?" and her mom pressed the bell and informed the nurse that Lily had woken up.

Dr. Goh entered the room not long after. He checked Lily's vital and declared that she was fine. It was normal to feel nauseated and a little disoriented after the procedure. Mrs.Chua thanked Dr Goh and stayed by Lily's side.

Joyce and Jayden felt relieved upon hearing that Lily was fine. However, they were only allowed to wait outside the room to minimize contamination.

Mrs.Chua whispered to Lily and she turned her head to find Joyce and Jayden outside the room looking at her. Joyce made a thumbs-up gesture and smiling widely. Jayden nodded his head. Lily smiled weakly and nodded her head slightly. Then she said "Thank you" silently to the both people whom she cared a lot. It gave her courage and surged of positivity when she saw encouragement from both of them.

Since Joyce couldn't enter, she gestured that Jayden and she would go back first. Lily smiled and nodded again. Mrs. Chua came out of the room and hugged Joyce. "Thank you for your support Joyce. I am really grateful for that." Mrs Chua then looked at Jayden. " And Thank you too. It means a lot to me and my family."

"Don't mention it, Mrs.Chua. Lily is our good friend. It's natural we support her during this moment."

Then both of them excused themselves and left.

Two days later Joyce went to the hospital to visit Lily. Lily has moved out to the sterilized room and was now in the patient room.

The moment she opened the hospital room, she saw Lily was retching into a bowl provided. Mrs.Chua was patiently holding the bowl while offering comforting words to Lily. Joyce looked at the view silently and decided to go outside and waited. She understand that Lily would not want her or other people to see her weak state.

She waited until Lily stop vomitting and the room was silent before she put on a smiling face and entered the room...

"Ta daaaaa.... Look who's coming!" Then she made a funny face.

Lily laughed weakly looking at her ridiculous face. "Hey! So early today?" Lily was very pale but she was at least a little enthusiastic when she saw Joyce was there.

Joyce pretended to look at the non-existence wrist-watch and reply, "It's not early! It's quite late now... see??!" she showed Lily her wrist...

Lily just slowly shook her head and smiled.

"How are you babe? You feel better?" Joyce asked her while hugging Lily. She felt even smaller than the last time she hugged her if it's possible.

"I feel like shit... If you know what I mean." Lily pouted.

"Hey! Rome is not build in a day! So you need to be patient..." Joyce nagged at her.

"Lily, come and eat something..." Mrs. Chua told Lily.

"Mom... I told you I don't want to eat. I vomit everytime I eat something." Lily complained.

"But you need to eat a little. You will not get better if you eat nothing at all..." Mrs. Chua said worriedly.

At that time, Sherly sticked her head into the room... "Hi! Is it okay that I come in?" she asked smilingly... Feeling cautious judging from the aura of the room.

"Yes! Come in...!" Joyce told her. "Jayden with you?"

"Yes... Come in!" Sherly gestured to Jayden.

"Hi! How are you, Mrs.Chua?" he greeted Mrs Chua. Looking at Lily he smiled and asked tenderly, "How do you feel...."

"I'm fine..." Lily smiled and looking less pale.

"She doesn't want to...." before Mrs.Chua could finish her sentence, Lily immediately cut her and said," Give me the porridge mom!" She didn't want Jayden to think that she was a spoiled brat...

"...." Joyce and Mrs.Chua looked at her dumbly...

"Mommmm...." Lily looked at her mom and reached out her hand.

"Yes...yes..." Mrs. Chua immediately sprung into action. Whatever the cause, as long as her little girl was willing to eat, she would give her whatever her request is. But, she suspected..... She looked at her baby's face and looked at Jayden secretly.... Hmmmm.... could it be???

Lily diligently finished her food in the presence of her friends. They were chatting lightly after that. Then Lily yawned. "I am sorry, I think I need to lay down a bit..." She was tired.

"Yes, sure. You need to rest. Sorry we tire you out." Sherly said.

"No no, I am glad you all come today. "Lily smiling sleepily and immediately went to sleep.

After Lily had slept, they all excused themselves and went home.

Before they leave, Mrs.Chua suddenly called out to Jayden. "Jayden, can I speak with you for a moment?alone...?"
