Hope everything goes well (1)

After Jayden had left, Joyce went tiredly into her place and finally broke down when she reached her room. Since there was nobody inside she let out all her pent-up emotion and cried until she choked. She then fell asleep unconsciously. When she woke up again, it was already dawn. She lazily started to get ready for school and walked tiredly to the bus-stop. She sat there in daze. Not realizing that at the opposite bus-stop, a bus stopped and one of the occupant was looking at her contemplatively.

Jayden couldn't sleep last night, so he decided to go to school earlier. He was passing the bus-stop near Joyce's place when he saw her sitting cheerlessly at the opposite bus-stop. He just sat there and looked at her until his bus started to move.

Joyce kept sighing to herself... She felt so drained of energy after the incident last night. She couldn't think of a better way to handle this problems. Her bus finally came. She took out her earphone, turn on the music and stepped into the bus. Hope the music can calm her nerves down... She started to get lost in the music while staring outside the passing view on the bus.

" Hey! Why the gloom face?!" Sherly tap Jayden on his shoulder when she arrived at the school. Jayden was sitting and staring blankly in front of him... He didn't realized Sherly had arrived until she called him.

"Hey... I just had something on my mind." Jayden smiled tightly to Sherly and then sighed loudly before looking down at his both hand.

"Whooooaaaaaa! if I can have a penny for your thought I am sure I'll be quite rich today." She joked. Jayden just lifted up his head, looked at her and shook his head as he resigned himself to her dry joke.

"Seriously, what's wrong?" Sherly gravely asked him. "You can trust me you know. I can totally keep secret for you..."

Jayden looked at her and raised one of his eyebrow.

"What do you mean by that??" Sherly stood up and went akimbo indignantly...

"Nothing...." but he was smiling...

Hmmmppphhhhhfffffff! Sherly folded her arms in front of her in irritation.

After a while, after seeing that Jayden was back in reverie... She finally opened her arms and looked at him again. Looking into his eyes she asked him again. "What's wrong really? I may be of help you know.. as untrustworthy as I do in your eyes I am pretty trustable."

Jayden looked at his cousin for a long while and sighed loudly.

"I was angry with Joyce last night." Jayden finally admitted.

"Why?"

"She gave me Lily's letter."

"Love letter! For you! Lily likes you!" Sherly stood up abruptly.

"Errr.... Yeah..... Joyce told me that Lily asked her to help passed the letter. She couldn't tell her the truth about my feeling.. She wanted me to accept Lily's letter. I was mad because I think we shouldn't lie to Lily. but Joyce said that now is not the right time to tell Lily the truth."

"Hmmmm.. What Joyce said is right. You should not tell the truth to Lily right now. Since Lily's health is in danger. It's not good to provoke her." Sherly said reasonably. "Furthermore, Lily is Joyce's bestfriend. At this moment, she will feel very pressurized with your feeling and Lily's. It'll be hard for her to make a choice. She likes you but she knows she'll hurt her best friend if she admits her feeling right now. Try to put yourself in her shoes. Then you'll understand her better... There's a reason why you like this girl, but being cruel isn't one of her trait that makes you like her right?" She tried to open up his mind.

Jayden stayed in complete silence.

Satisfied that she had at least help him rethink the whole thing, Sherly squeezed his right shoulder in a comforting manner and then left him alone to think.

Joyce walked listlessly to her place. She planned to go to the hospital after this since that was the day Lily was going to have her bone marrow transplant.

She walked towards the elevator contemplatively when suddenly a figure blocked her way. she bumped onto the person without looking where she was going as she was deep in thought. The person suddenly hugged her. Surprised, she reacted by pushing the person forcefully and started screaming....

"Shhh... It's me..." Jayden said to her while placing his chin on the top of her head.

"What!" she tried to look up but Jayden prevented her to do so. Her heart calmed down when she found out it's really him. "You scared me!" She tried to blink away the tears that threatened to flow. She thought she was going to get into serious trouble and was ready to fight for her life.

"I know... I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself. I apologised okay?" Jayden said tenderly.

Joyce tried to push him away.

"Let's stay like this for a while. Let me say what I want to say. I won't be able to say it if I am looking at you." Jayden told her.

Joyce stopped resisting and stayed still. Waiting for him to continue.

"I am sorry for being an ass yesterday." He began. "I guessed I should have tried to understand you better. I just realized how hard it must be for you to be in the middle of me and Lily's feeling. I will try to make it easier for you. I can try to help you cheer Lily's up, but I won't lie to her about my feeling. For that, I am not sorry. She deserves to be told the truth. I cannot lie about my feeling. But I'll at least try not to show my true feeling in front of her."

Upon hearing this Joyce was so relieved that Jayden could understand and would not blame her that her tears flowed ceaselessly.... Jayden hold her until she stopped crying and then finally looked at her.

"I am sorry, okay?" Jayden told her sincerely. He wiped her tears with his fingers tenderly and kissed her forehead as if she's the most treasured things in the whole world.

She hiccuped suddenly and she was embarrased. She covered her face with his shirt. Jayden laughed at her and hugged her tightly one more time. Both felt relieved that at least for the moment, everything was fine then.

They stayed in peace for a moment then Joyce looked up and said," I need to go to the hospital. Lily will have her transplant in a couple of hour!"

"I'll go with you." Jayden said decisively.

"Okay. Wait for me! Let me go change." Joyce ordered him while walking away.

"I'll come back for you in 15 minutes, okay? I need to change too." Jayden told her. "Meet at the bus stop in 15?"

"Sure! okay!"

They both then went their seperate way.

At the hospital, Lily was extremely nervous. She knew that today's transplant was very important for her health in the future. She who didn't believe in the power of the higher beings, was praying fervently since that morning. Mr and Mrs Chua was in the hospital room too. The three of them tried not to show each other's nervousness scared that it'll affect Lily's train of thoughts.

Knock, knock!

Joyce sticked her head inside the room. "Hello everyone!" all smiles. She had prepared herself well. She was determined not to show how scared she was about the whole thing and was going to cheer Lily up no matter what!

"Hey! Come in, babe!" Lily lighted up when she saw Joyce.

"Hope I'm not disturbing anything." Joyce said happily. "Look who's here!" She then pulled Jayden in.
