3 How I met my Ex

The next morning I awoke to my phone repeatedly ringing, sleepily I answered it, "Hello." I said, "Where the fuck are you ?" the person on the other end of the line whispered angrily. "Do you even know what time it is?", "Jayde?, slow down, what is the time and where are you?" I responded groggily. "At a crime scene you should be at and it is after ten in the morning, Dan is going to kill you.", "Shit, message me the address and I will be there in twenty minutes." I added jumping out of bed and racing to the shower. I showered, dressed and took my motorcycle to get to the address faster. As I arrived at the scene and everyone was there, Jayde and Galaxy ran up to me, "Are you okay?" Galaxy asked, "You are never the late one." she finished, "I'm sorry I went to bed late waiting for Minseok to come home, but he never came so I overslept." I mumbled. Jayde just shook her head and began to brief me on what was on the scene, this was our third crime scene and there were two bodies inside both males, making it four deaths in a space of a month and a half . We officially have a serial killer on our hand and this killer is a Korean, that was all we were told, as I walked in I was welcomed by the smell of death. I didn't eat that morning as I rushed out of the apartment.

My stomach began to churn and my mouth went dry, the paper air mask they gave me did not help at all, this was the perfect end to my shitty night. My eyes began to water and the scent of rotting flesh had me feeling light headed, I began to drift back out the building when a hand gently touched my shoulder. This caused me to snap my head in the direction of the hand, the swiftness of my movement did not bode well on my nausea, so with the spin of my head and the emptiness of my stomach, Jimin's new Allen Edmonds Leiden shoes were now covered in whatever dinner was last night. Serves him right for the stunt he pulled last night anyhow, I quickly spun back around and ran out, Tessie and Nikki following behind me. Jayde walked up next to Jimin, "Well it could have been worse, it could have been your suit." she said with a shrug and a straight face and then she strode off in my direction. "What was all that about?" Jimin's friend named Min Yoongi asked him, "I fucked up and now I have to fix my mess." he answered, head down as he walked away. Galaxy rode my bike to my apartment while Nikki drove me home, as I got to the apartment the girls and I entered and Nikki walked me to the sofa, while Mimi went to the kitchen and took a club soda out of the fridge.

"This would help settle your stomach." she said as she handed it to me, Jayde being the straightforward one asked, "Are you fucking Jimin?", I almost dropped the soda out of my hands. "Don't lie to us." Galaxy added, "Who is Jimin to you?" Nikki asked flatly, I couldn't look at them in the eyes and Tessie answered them "Jimin is the asshole ex that left with no explanation." From the looks on their faces I knew an explanation was needed, I lowered my head and began "Before being transferred to the precinct, I lived here in this apartment with Jimin.", "You're still living here with all those memories?" Nikki asked. "When I wanted to move I couldn't afford it and when I could afford it, I just couldn't let go of the apartment." I answered, Nikki just rolled her eyes "Continue..." she sighed, I looked up.

FLASHBACK

I first met Jimin when I enrolled at Pierce College in Los Angeles we were both studying criminal justice, I moved from New York as I wanted a change in pace, some time and space away from home and family. This move for me was a way to meet new people, to widen my circle of friends, I was excited when I left home, open to all possibilities, ready to live life to the fullest. Wow looking back at that time of my life I really was as naive and gullible as my mother always told me over and over, that was one of the reason, why I ran as far away from home as I could get. Now in hindsight I realized what my mother meant when she told me those things, but being eighteen I thought I knew everything and I was an adult. My first week at the College was uneventful and quiet, I got the usual smiles and nodding of heads and a few annoying catcalls that I ignored, it was the weekend of the first week and instead of spending it sitting in my apartment, my mother hates college dorms so she got me an apartment close to the College. I got a call from Aaliyah, a girl I met in class that first week, "I'm nwo leaving the dorms." she squealed into the phone, "I'm driving over to you , now get dressed." she finished and hung up.

Less than ten minutes later Aaliyah drove into my apartment complex, dressed in a pink sequined dress that stopped just below her ass, with an ultra deep plunging 'V' neck, so the tattoo on her breast was visible as well as her navel piercing. I blankly stared at Aaliyah, "Really Aali..." was all I said, "Dress cute and sexy, this club we are going at has really hot guys.", I am not as risque as Aaliyah so I got dressed in a short bodycon bandage, choker dress. I t was sleeveless and had a 'V' neck, "Perfect." Aaliyah smiled and we were off to Sound NightClub to enjoy ourselves as vibrant, young adults do. Well Aaliyah made an entrance, all eyes were on her as she sauntered through the doors, a seductive smile plastered on her face as she grabbed my hand and danced us to the bar, we started with shots of tequila and then to the dance floor. The night was going great, we were having fun, then out of the crowd came a visibly drunk guy who wanted to dance with the two of us, we politely declined as he was literally drifting and slurring his words. The closer he stood to us the stronger the scent of alcohol wafted off him.
