Madness: RETRIBUTION

Billy opened his eyes, and found himself in a place similar to Hell, but the sky was darker and there were many floating islands and chains around the place.

He realized that he was falling from the sky, and looked down, soon he would fall in a solid surface, and it will surely kill him falling with this speed…

He closed his eyes and braced from the impact, then he collided with the ground, his neck almost broke at the impact, it is really painful…

The impact between the ground and Billy created a fissure, where he got stuck. From the fissure, a crack extended to a random direction and it created a wall. Meanwhile, Billy tried to get up from the fissure, and in some seconds he finally came out.

He touched his neck in pain and looked around, seeing only chaos…

Suddenly, from the wall that was just made, another fissure opened and a chain with a bladed end came out, piercing the back of Billy's skull, however, it didn't release any blood, but the mortal injury he should have turned black.

He tried to struggle from the chain, but he was pulled inside the fissure from which it came from.

When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in his bedroom at the hideout, the fissure from which he came from was at the edge of the room, and the chain pierced the ceiling, getting stuck there with a minion being pierced all the way through the head with the chain.

Billy slowly got up, but when he laid his hands on his face, his eyes widened when he couldn't feel anymore his jaw… There wasn't anymore a jaw… While the injury at the back of his skull remained.

He looked around and saw his door opening, revealing a minion armed with a gun, but before the minion could shot, Billy reached him and moved the gun away, making the bullet fly against the wall instead of him, then he punched the minion once, taking away the weapon.

Before the minion could recover from the punch, Billy used the gun as a blunt weapon and repeatedly hit the minion's head until it died.

He looked at the gun and checked the bullets he had, there were 13 bullets, for now they would help. So he came out from his bedroom, and reached the hall of the hideout.

The first thing he did was shooting at the first minion who had the gun aimed at him before he seized a TAR-21 from a nearby minion, and killed the previous owner with the gun he had before, possessing only 10 more bullets, then he aimed the TAR-21 at the other 2 minions in the hall, killing them too.

With the Automag V(Gun) in one hand, and a TAR-21(Rifle) in the other, he walked over the hall and came out from the Night Raid's hideout, before he killed one minion with his gun and shooting at another with his rifle.

Then the other ones rushed at him barehanded or with a weapon, but he managed to shot them all down without a single injury, the minions were 6, so with the previous ones, included the one pierced from the chain, 12 died.

A chain came from nothing and almost pierced Billy, who rolled out from the way.

Suddenly, a kid fell from the sky and impacted with the ground, creating another fissure where the kid got stucked, but he didn't move.

Billy looked at the kid, and actually recognized the kid as himself when he was small, he slowly walked towards the probably dead kid and touched him, before his mind was overwhelmed with red images that showed him the moments before he was killed from Akame and static sounds were heard all over the place.

The headache he got was immense, and it made him stumble backwards, before he could move, 6 chains appeared from nowhere and eviscerated Billy in the ground by piercing several parts of his body.

[Meanwhile]

Outside, Billy was on the bed of the hideout of the Night Raid, his eyes were closed as his heart didn't beat anymore.

Najenda was speaking with the doctor who took Perfector while everyone else listened to them.

Najenda: So, what is the situation?

Doctor: …*Sigh* Honestly, I don't know much… But Billy is surely dead, this is the first and only thing I could find. The cause of deatg is apparently because his consciousness is taken somewhere else.

However, from the informations I got from you all, this is the price he need to pay for using that strange power from the halo, I can only suggest to give him some rest…

Akame: ...No…

Leone hugged Akame who was shaking from the news.

Leone: Shhh, it's alright…

Mine: ...The weight of the souls he carries will press him down…

Everyone turned towards Mine, who answered the unsaid question.

Mine: This is what the Lord of the Path of Peace told me…

Doctor: Well, there isn't anything else to say, so I will take my leave.

Najenda: ...Thanks, doctor.

The doctor nodded and left from the hideout, and Akame entered the room where Billy was… She walked at the side of his bed and watched him as tears came out from her eyes, this is much worse than knowing a friend is dead…

The person that didn't care anymore about what she did in the past, the person that just confessed to her… He is gone… He did everything alone...

Everything because he was the only one being able to stand against everyone… They realized how weak they actually are… Even if the war is ended, they did almost anything… This is humiliating… Making Billy do everything…

But, unknowingly to them, this is the last fight that Billy is going through, and they are unable to support him anyway… The shame literally coiled around their hearts just from thinking it…

If Billy was still alive, he would have said that it was alright since it was his decision to do so, yet… Here he was...

Akame: ...He will return back... He promised me so... Probably it is just a test from that halo...

Leone: Akame... He's-

Akame: NO! I refuse to accept this! He told me that he will come back and I promised him that I would wait for him to return!

Everyone just watched Akame hugging Billy's lifeless body.
